it's been the worse year of gaming as far as console/pc goes. if it wasn't for my ds and psp I would have never gotten my gaming fix. I never had a year were i played so many games with great reviews and that bored me to tears or dissapoint me

PS3 did beat 360, TC cherry picked the games, missed MLB 10/Yakuza 3mystervjThats why it's hard to take this thread seriously :P

[QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"] Or high-scoring exclusives.Cherokee_Jack
360 Wins there too: 9.5 > 9.0. Only AAAE PS3 has had this year was GoW3, 360 had Reach. So not even that. Heck if you include, XLIVE titles, 360 has had more AAAEs too. 360 just did better this year with quality games in general, that is the most important metric.
8.0+ 360 exclusives in 2010:
Halo Reach
Dance Central
Alan Wake
Deathsmiles
8.0+ PS3 exclusives in 2010:
God of War III
Gran Turismo 5
ModNation Racers
Yakuza 3
MLB 10: The Show
Heavy Rain
MAG
Counting only AAAs and saying 9.5>9.0 is all well and good, but the PS3 still pretty clearly had more quality exclusives this year.
Counting AA's and AAAA's the Wii won. Easily and without question.Oh and are we counting or not multiplats? RDR, Vanquish, BO?GiancarThats the first thing that came to my mind. What is TC's logic for including ME2 but not including RDR, Vanquish, BFBC2, Mafia II, fallout New Vegas etc?
Also isnt Kinect required to play Dance Central. If so then you can feel free to use it in your argument, just dont expect people to take you seriously
I assume you're counting AE too? If you do that, 360 just barely wins 11-10, but you're adding 7 AE for the 360 and only 3 for the PS3. 8.0>7.0 right?[QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"][QUOTE="themyth01"] I did, here's the link: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/index.html?navclk=xbox360&tag=nav-top;xbox360themyth01
I'm wondering why you left Limbo out. I take it you counted MLB 10 for PS3 even if it's on PS2 and PSP?!
But alas, best year goes to the system with better games overall, not just exclusives, so I'll leave the exclusive only at that and go back to the main topic. Best system of the year:
# of AAAs:
360
PC
Wii
PS3
# of AAs:
Wii
360
PC
PS3
I'm sure you can begin to see the pattern.
Are you kidding me ? So you are saying that 360 outdid the PC ? You cant be serious ?
The 360 and PS3 both got owned this year by the Wii and PC. PS3 especially so this fall. lolStevo_the_gamerNailed on second post. Wii and PC are unstoppable juggernauts. Especially since the incest twins can't stop ripping off the mighty Wii.
not the PS3. 360 had more AAAs. Wii had a AAAA. Even the major Sony supporters will have a hard time making the argument for the PS3 this year.

You left out a few Ps3 games and included a MP for 360 for some reason, unless you're including multi plats.

TC obviously wanted to make this a PS3 vs 360 thread. Thats why he included ME2 but not RDR or Fallout New VegasPS3 and 360 both had a terrible, generic year. PC and Wii dominated the PS3 and 360.
Suppose I should add "In exclusives." Multiplats were fine across the board.

Unless of course they start counting only exclusive titles, ignoring the likes of ME2, etc and only taking into account AAE and AAAE games while ignoring the rest, quite convenient limits people choose to place sometimes heh

Did say "highlights", what PS3 games would you have in there instead? It's obvious I'm counting on the entire library of games.Heavy Rain's hype was AAA though?[QUOTE="Gxgear"]
I thought Heavy Rain didn't flop according to its hype thread?
Stevo_the_gamer
Dammit, don't start that debate again.
Anyway, trying to go with "at least the 360 beat PS3" as a consolation prize is pretty shallow because, let's be real, they both sucked this year.
You forgot to include mag, jakusa 3, modnation racers, and mlb 10 on the ps3 side, if you're going by gamespot's scores that is

What I gathered were people were debating with you that PS3 beat 360, not won the year. Either way, 2010 was a weak effort from both the Sony and Microsoft camp.

Well if as you say 360 had a bad year and its library outdid the PS3, how could PS3 win the year right. Like I said, check first page if you don't believe me.

I did read it over again, and I still don't see all these people you're talking about. I saw one post claiming the PS3 won;
Year of the PS3... AGAIN!
Search your feelings, you know it to be true

Check your own facts first, you left some games out of the ps3 AA and AAA list just to make the 360 list look better, or I can give you the benefit of the doubt and say it was because of ignorance of the actual ps3 library. And as people have stated in the thread, both did subpar compared to the pc and wii. This was the year of meh...and the awesomeness that was Bayonetta and Super Meat Boy. So many games(admittedly so many good games as well) completely screwed the pooch in different areas. Mario Galaxy 2 and Starcraft 2 are the only 2 games that really came through big in their genres. Outside of that sloppy design mistakes across the board. jg4xchamp
Score wise your proboly right. Enjoyment wise that varys person to person. Since I had a good time gaming this year and didint feel it was meh especially with games like lords of shadow and yakuza 3.

I agree with alot of this post, though I think DKCR is an extremely superb 2D platformer.
Without a doubt the wii. I haven't bought a single game for my wii this year, infact I sold some, but this year belongs to the wii.
When I think of gaming this year FFXIII is the first game that comes to mind.
I'm sure that's not among the majority, though.
Yeah the Wii did really good this year. Followed by PC, but Xbox 360 did ok this year. PS3 kinda failed.

Wasn't the MLB thing discussed plenty of times on why it's an exclusive just like that Tom Clancy game is an exclusive on PC?
themyth01
Given that we're so impartial and fair and have no bias whatsoever, maybe we should look to the very site that makes this decision:
http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/sports/mlb10/index.html
What do you see under the Also on: tab in the game.
Yeah, I tried using the "also on" tab to prove that Gamespot considers PC and Mac to be seperate platforms. SW is it's own entity, with it's own rules, and doesn't care if GS says MLB is multiplat or not. In SW, MLB10 is an exclusive, just like Graw isa an exclusive. It was discussed, it was decided. If you want to change that, make a thread detailing why it is multiplat, and make it more well-thought and convincing than the one that got it ruled exclusive. Also, in SW, exclusives have always mattered more, with "high-rated exclusives" generally referring to AAE+.[QUOTE="themyth01"]

So it should be counted regardless if he wants to make this list.

It's about quality, not quantity. If we count all games though then you'd have to add:
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Mass Effect 2
leaving the PS3 looking worse still. I guess you could say PS3 had more AAEs but 360 had more AAAs.
I would rather play a bunch of 8.0 games than just one 9.0 game. Sometimes quantity is better.
PS3 is missing Modnation Racers (8.0), Yakuza 3 (8.0) and MLB 10 (8.0). But even still it definitely didn't win. It seemed like the Wii was getting an 8.5 game every other week this year plus it got a AAAAE.
2011 is looking great for the PS3 though. Same can't really be said for 360 unless Gears 3 is the best game of all time

Quantity + quality win, if you don't limit yourself to exclusives then 360 has had a great year. A lot of AAs and As.You realize people who make the thread choose the topic of discussion, it's not my fault so many Sony fanboys can't accept of using a platform's library of games, however no logic was changed. Read the thread first.I remember another themyth01 thread a while back where this same exact thing happened. People disagreed with him so he just changed his logic. This should be locked as he blatantly is leaving out games in order to support his arguement.
emorainbo
The arguing was expected. Imagine a person in charge of delivering news about the reason of Democrats losing Congress in a room full of democrats. I'm sure if it would have been, 360 had the worst year, there would have been a lot of agreeing and no arguing but I'm not one to take the easy approach when it's incorrect.
