[QUOTE="DeathScape666"][QUOTE="Kantroce"][QUOTE="DeathScape666"] [QUOTE="Ragnarok1051"]Can't this be said about the PS3 as well? I could ask the Wii why it's trying to be like the Weather Channel.Kantroce
I don't consider the 360 an underpowered computer. I just hear Hermits say this a lot, so I wanted to hear some reasons.
PC gaming is so overrated. When was the last time it got GOTY? Also, it doesn't have too many fighters or platformers. Not that PC gaming bad, but it isn't what all the Hermits make it out to be. They pretend that Halo 3 would get a 6.5 if it was released for PC.
The reason PC gaming doesn't get GOTY that often WoW was the last time because for some reason a PC game to get GoTY has to have such a dramatic impact on the industry for some reason. It can't even be a great game, it has to be exceptional and have a ridiculous impact. It's not even comparable to console games. Halo 3 would not score a 9.5 if it was released at the same time on PC. It's a simple fact.
The PC has higher standards for games because we hold ourselves to higher standards. Simple as that.
No, that's bullcrap. Call of Duty 4 got a 9 for PC, 360, and PS3. The Orange Box got a 9.5 for PC and 360. I could go on and on, but you get the point.
Go look at the user reviews and tell me the same thing. Hermits as a whole score their own games lower than console players. I'm talking in just the sense of PC only magazines and websites. Of course Gamespot is going to rate them the same because they don't want to show any difference. But to hermits there is a difference. COD4 is nothing special to us yet to consolites it's the second coming of Christ. The same goes for Halo 3 if it was released at the same time on PC, it would have been nothing particularly special to us.
360 version: 9.4
PS3 version: 9.3
PC version: 9.1
Yes, the PC version is lower, but dude, different people review the games. Of course there is always going to be a slight difference, but that's because some people have different rating scales. For example, I could enjoy Pikmin more than you, and only give it a 7, while you enjoy it less than me, and still give it a 9. There is no universal rating system. I don't know what the level enjoyment I am getting out of each game. I can't feel, "Yeah, this is an 8.5, and if everyone felt the same level of enjoyment that I'm feeling right now, they'd have an 8.5, too." Truth is, it's too hard to measure. Also, the scores aren't that far apart.
On top of that, the PC version of The Orange Box got a higher overall rating on GameRankings than the 360. Us consolites have much higher standards than you guys. ;)
