Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't remember there ever being games on HD-DVD's, thus making the argument of having to buy an HD-DVD player useless.Akuma88

nah, it's only for movies and it's optional. but it's funny if you think about blu-ray. if you include the ps3 as a blu-ray player, that would mean that there's over 2 million blu-ray players compared to 250,000 hd dvd players. that's a 5:1 difference in hardware. if you look at the movie sales, blu-ray is beating hd dvd by only 2:1. that would mean 4 million blu-ray titles compared to 2 million hd dvd titles. if translated to attachment rates, that means 2 blu-ray titles sold per player and almost 10 hd dvd titles per hd dvd player.

360 has a crap load of great games that ps3 cant even get close to: Crackdown, Gears Of War, Saints Row, Dead Rising, Tom Clancys Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, Tom Clancys Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, Lost Planet Extreme Condition, Rainbow Six Vegas, Dead Or Alive, FEAR, Splinter Cell Double Agent, Hitman Blood Money, Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Project Gotham Racing 3, Condemed Criminal Origins, Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo, Call Of Duty 2, Call Of Duty 3. And even though a couple of games on that list are "going to" appear on the PS3, why would you pay so much more for a port, that has already been out for a lower costing system, that is most likely going to be in much better quality judging by all the other ports in the past on ps3 that looked lots better on the Xbox 360! And what the hell, are you even playing as of now on your oh so awesome ps3? The gaming library for the ps3 is so minimal, with lack of decent games except for a couple few, so why would you pay so much more for such less quality? Hmmm, maybe because your a blind fanboy and can't quite see whats more worth your money? Good Luck when Metal Gear Solid 4 comes to Xbox 360, then there would be no reason to won a PS3...

Who is this cow? I've never even heard of him but he's making a name for himself rather quickly. This topic fails because the $400 360 still exists. Can't say that about the $500 PS3. So maybe you should change your topic to....

Well it at least comes with an HD cable that cost you PS3 owners $50-$80. So you could put that on a HD player.

seeing how just buying a 20gig HDD for the 360 cost $100, I hardly think $80 more for a 120GB HDD and a HDMI port is a rip off. :|

The Live only cost me 40 (amazon), the Mic only cost me 1$ (thats right)... Just use the official price, don't use other prices. I can buy the 400 premium Xbox360 for 300 on Ebay, while the PS3 is going for 550 (premium) Do you want me to use that as ownage? I think not.

I find it funny that the 360 doesn't need a high def video format as much as the ps3 does. You have to figure that sony is banking on blueray to be the white horse format in a field of black sheep. MS raising the price of the 360 with hdmi and 120gb drive...so what. It should be dubbed the media center edition instead. I can see this being good news for those who waited because there should be a bunch of upgraders trying to offload their early edition 360's cheap. Blueray movie sales have the ps3 to thank but not everyone who bought the ps3 bought it for its games. Same goes for those who bought the ps3 for games instead of movies. It will be funny to see the cows slam MS if they decide to make a blueray player addon. They wil say that ms had no faith in their own format. Truth be told hddvd was not their format unlike blueray being the majority stake with sony.

People don't think the PS3 sucks because it's expensive. They're just upset with Sony that they implemented Blu-Ray, jacking up the price, when a significant amount of people either don't want or don't care about Blu-Ray. And even for those who do care about Blu-Ray, they should've had the choice of having it or not, but unfortunately, they don't. Sure a $600 Blu-Ray player is an amazing deal and great value, but some people still don't care about it and still think it's expensive.

im from the uk so im not to sure about the price in the USA but isnt the 60gig packet (you can only compare that to the new 360 package) $599 ???? $470 is alot cheaper than $599 and u get a 100 gig hard drive......id pick the 360 however thats just my opinion........i live in the UK and ps3 screwed euro over so i just got a 360 and im happy with it

he was talking about the hdmi cable, not the hdmi port. yes he did make a mistake by saying that the 60 gb ps3 comes with an hdmi cable but you were completely wrong by adding the cost of an hdmi cable to the xbox 360 elite when it comes with one for free.

Why do you keep mentioning the HDMI and those other accessories? Most people aren't gonna care about that. Console, games, and that's it. The rest is just a bonus. PS3 + game= $660. 360+game= $540. If you wanna add XBL, fine, then it's $590. I don't count the 20 GB PS3, because it's a rare item now, and will soon become unavailable, unless you get one on EBay, and even then, simply because of it's rarity, people will be asking more than $500 for it.

self owned here pal. 20 gig comes with hdmi (ps3). also you forgot the 50 dollars for live so let me fix it for you let's see here: 120 GB 360 wit HDMI =504 20GB PS3 wit HDMiI and High def player= 500 + 30 for HDMI cable= 530 120GB 360 with HDMi plus wifi addon= 604 60BGb PS3 with HDMi/ and high def player= 600 + 30= 630 /THREAD

btw, u realize that half of 360 owners dont use xbox live......so i split that in half /thread...

I agree with number 3. but the whole point of this thread is to disprove peoples arguements that PS 3 sucks cause it is expensive. Not my fault i get blind fanbois trying to start something. oh and DMC blows donkey balls

A 300 dollar core (no you do not NEED a harddrive) xbox 360 can play games just as well as a 600 dollar (and 500..) PS3. I don't know about everyone, but when I buy a GAMES console, it has to be able to play games. And as far as I can see, there is no real reason ("You just wait!" is not a reason) to pay twice as much for games console that can play less games (less all up, less variety, lesser games..).
