The Xbox 360 is a pretty cool console.
Only thing bad about it is to Pay to Use Basic Online Features.
It was cool at first, Online for Consoles? Sick!
That is until the other systems got it and it was free and it was the same basic service.
Really now, Xbox Live is such a rip off.
I have had my 360 since launch, and I couldn't have been happier. I can acknowledge that the PS3 is a good console - but I just prefer the games and online experience of the 360.

Exactly my words also. I prefer the overall experience of the 360. Also I love Halo and Gears
Ripped off? I got the best library this gen, the best online service this gen, the best controller this gen. Nope, feeling pretty satisfied with my 360. RR360DDSo you are enjoying Nike+ Kinect Training? Or is it Wii umm I mean Kinect Sports.
[QUOTE="timbers_WSU"]
Best console I have ever owned and it isn't even close.

gotta remember. The 360 had the better multiplats for mostly this generation. It also got a lot of Multiplats first during the first half.
360 was the go to console of this gen.

I think I've spent more money playing a small handful of PC games online this gen than someone who has paid for Live since it began in 2002.
With that said 360 was the best console this gen.
I don't understand why people defend 360's online service so passionately. I borrowed my friends Xbox 360 for a week and the online wasn't so much better that I'd be willing to pay $50 a year for. om28v
back then it was probably the best service.
Now with PSN being better than it was back before 2009 (before Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, and Modern Warfare 2 hit) Xbox Live just gradually went down hill.
The thing is, it was fine for last gen because N and Sony were so far behind. LIVE's awesomeness forced them to vastly improve. I won't be paying for Live next gen but was glad to this gen :)The Xbox 360 is a pretty cool console.

See it was a good system till 2009 hit when Sony got a lot of Online titles and wised up.
Xbox Live was pretty good. The Halo 3 golden age was a good place to hop on board, but when I got on it was a ghost town there.
But I had a blast playing Reach, Gears 2, Gears 3, and other online titles.
But at the end of April I won't be paying for it anymore.

End of May for me. PS3 got better but I still just can't handle the 20 minute updates. Hoping PS4 won't suffer from them.I felt ripped off back in 07 with i bought the ps3, it didnt have any games so I nearly traded it for the 360 if it wasnt for the rrod, now im glad i stick with a ps3 and was able to experience demons souls, mgs4, valkyria chronicles, infamous, uncharted, lbp, ni no kuni, etc..j_assassinYup! Demon's Souls was the highlight for me too. I remember playing it every morning during the Christmas holidays. Mind you, I was 20 years old at the time. Felt great to feel like a little kid again.

Lemmings seem to like getting milked by M$. I don't know how anybody can defend an obvious scam like this. Sane lemmings (if there is such a thing) are probably mad about getting ripped off but won't admit it or they just living in denial about it. $450 is a lot of money that can be used for doing other things. You could buy games or upgrade your PC with a beefy graphics card for that kind of money.

Not really. I enjoyed the 360. Best controller, and better than DS3, imo. But XBLG is still a ripoff. IMO. Money is no problem, it's the principle. I hardly play online, so what's the point? PSN offers it for free and when I do go online for MP on PSN, it's really for sh!ts and giggles.
Offline, 360 is a great console, though. There's countless of Multiplat games for cheap. Plus I like the selection of downloadable games on XBL.

I have a 360 and only payed for live for about 9 months total just to play gears of war. Console online multiplayer sucks because the communites die within weeks, so I never payed until knew i was going to be gaming onlline for a while and that the game was fairly populated. I bought a 3 month card every time I bought a new gears of war game (except judgment, didn't buy) and I got my moneys worth.Â
So as long as people feel or believe that they got what they payed for  they are not going to say they feel ripped off, especially on SW (too many ego's at stake.

So the 360 came out in 2005. Online costs $50. So in total, many of you spent $450 EXTRA just to game online. How does it feel that you could have used that $450 to put toward something else, like maybe the Kinectbox 720? om28v
online did cost $50, it changed to $60 years ago tho.
inb4 people cite deals/discounts. anything sold at retail u can get discounts, duh.
as far as online costs, i knew going in that i would end up buying a wii & ps3 with online costs. m$ smart. they got many like me to forgo buying a wii or ps3, and fund xbox live fees.
I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and that's fine that some preferred the 360 over the PS3, but I do not understand how people around here can defend XBL fees :?
It's one thing if the subscription actually offered you something, but you're paying for something everyone else is getting for free. Â
Â
Â
Here in 2013 with modern PSN and WiiU it's pretty pointless to pay for it. For most of the gen, with garbage Wii and creaky as hell PS3 online, it was very worth it.I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and that's fine that some preferred the 360 over the PS3, but I do not understand how people around here can defend XBL fees :?

Bro it goes both ways. You can't understand why some people defend XBL fees. I can't understand why some people continue to ignore that XBL still offers more.
lol at the people saying "I have job so I can afford it."
Well I have a job too. one that pays weekly.
and I still think paying $10 a month, $30 for 3 months and $60 for a Year so you could use Basic Online Features for your Xbox 360 is lame and pathetic.
You could be buying groceries with that money, or games from Steam or just new Games in General.
Xbox Live is a thing of the past. Deal with it.

And it's not like cross game chat is worth the $60 a year, Vita does it for free.

What exactly does XBL offer more than PSN? I can't think of anything other than cross game chat (Vita does it for free), voice messages, and beacons (a feature that seems pretty useless to me).Â
