So... PSN.... No longer FREE then?

You know, I only own a 360 and I love it to death but even I can admit that free online > paid online.

Everything else is just sprinkles on a cup cake. PSN is giving away cupcakes with frosting for free. XBL gives away sprinkles for free but not cupcake or frosting. If you want cupcakes, there is a clear cut better deal.

well its definitely taking away from what they have now though, I like netflix on the PS3, I actually use it, but I guess I have to get premium. Id rather go with xbox live service which will continue to add on to live features and foward it success.

In borderlands out of the dozens of people I have played with I think maybe 4 had mics.. Thats it.. Furthermore I would take XBL any day of the weak, especially when you can get it for as little as close to $3 to $4 a month.. Thats 10 cents or alittle bit more.

I don't have a mic, so I dont care about cross game voice chat. I don't want free classic games and such. So I won't be buying the premium service from Sony.

I think if Sony had its druthers they would do that, but they cant. What they will do is give special treatement the premium service and really gimp on the free service. They are going to try to make the PSN free service less attractive and this will become more clear as this goes further down the line. As xbox Live evolves, PSN premium will try and keep up, and PSN free online will just be that, free online, but demos, content, features that come into play down the line will only be available for premium PSN users. The two tier system basically throws the white flag against XBOX live as now they will strive to be Live and its in black and white.

Ok you can still just play on line for free. but the feature everyone was waiting for is going to cost you.

Looking at the pricing schemes their a few things that cow have attacked XBL for in the past like 'paid' subscribers getting content and demos to bump up the value of the premium and having facebook as a premium service too.

Why is talking needed? im here to play games not chat. Players would be more focussed if they werent so concerned with what their friends did or are doing at the moment while playing online
