And damage has not been confirmed. Just because you see a Subaru rally car with damage, doesn't mean the road racing is going to have damage. And I'm pretty sure they've already talked about how, supposedly, car manufacturers don't want non-race cars taking damage in their games.

no one will every think to say forza is better than gt5..no one...gt5 is the ultimate real driving sim.. Its about gameplay. Something we will have to wait and see. But so far forza has been winning.
I was absolutely amazed that it has 3 kind of racings in the game! Rally, NASCAR and Super Car. GT5 is going to be unbeatable.

GT2, 3 and 4 all had rally. And GT2 had the best rally of them all ironically.
This is why GT has fallen behind as a series. It tries to master everything and be a jack-of-all-trades while being great at nothing.
Why is it that when Turn 10 delivers gameplay footage and a release date hardly anyone talks about it... but when Polyphony gives us a pre-rendered teaser trailer with no date, everyone starts jumping down from the rafters and claiming the greatest thing ever?
Their is NASCAR, and rally. Pretty good value if it does ship with it.

so adding one game mode where you race in an oval and another mode that even GT3 had is the reason for this insane delay with GT5? :lol: I'm sorry, but that's pretty weak. BTW.....the damage modeling looked rather weak too. Not saying Forza is better, but why bother doing something when they obviously can't surpass the ones who included it in their VERY FIRST GAME is beyond me.

lolololol 4 years later and still no GT5 and no release date and people are amazed by damage. Having nascar is no excuse for taking so long to release if EA can do it in less then a year

but why are they STILL not giving a release date - this should have been ready a long time ago. The video did look good, and the cars very realistic, but you have to actually release the game if we are to play it

Perhaps if you grew up wearing GT-racing goggles. Forza has far more detailed racing mechanics. Where is the real-time telemetry in the GT series?

Which is why they released GT4 in 2005, GT5P in 2007, are going to release GT Mobile this year (2009) and GT5 probably sometime next year (2010)?
GT:5 is the most ambitious racer i've ever seen and it looks like it will really deliver. Everything about it is top notch. AND I HATE CAR GAMES! So that's saying a lot.
Nascar? Wait, that's really not a joke? Good lord. Also, I hope they fixed the bumper car rally racing from GT4, where you could just slide the rear end of your car on the barrier around corners to avoid the penalty.

Long development cycles do not always mean excellent games. The Forza series has been AAA since its debut working on significantly shorter development times and Forza 3 is looking even better than its predecessors. I don't know about you, but I'll take the two AAA games (Forza 1 and 2) and another probably on the way (of course, Forza 3) rather than wait five years for one game.

Turn 10 will have released 3 full fledged racers in the time it's taken PD to even think of a release date. :lol: Sad thing for PD is that Turn10 has easily surpassed them and have delivered a far superior console sim racer in that time. If you don't agree then you're obviously blinded by your silly devotion to PD or you have never touched a Forza game and have had the opportunity to see the amazing physics at work first hand. GT is a joke and should be compared to PGR in terms of realism. :|
