I hear you. Improved graphics really mean nothing imo.. Because after about 10-15 minutes its effect wears off and it plays and looks like you remember it so then you are left with playing the same exact game all over again.
And I hate reach's multiplayer. I really wish it had its own remade multiplayer
New engine (graphics are a lot better IDK what game you're talking about), orchestrated music, online co-op, Halo Reach MP with 7 maps (I think one is Firefight, and it's not the full Reach MP)... that's all I know.SaltyMeatballsGraphics aren't even as good as Reach's... It should look better then Reach it's coming out like a year after. And it's not a new engine, it's the EXACT same engine, hence why even the physics are 100% the same.

It's a new proprietary graphics engine created by Saber Interactive, the gameplay is run by the old game, the new engine is just for graphics. So it's running two engine simultaneously.
Let me guess if they changed more than the graphics you would complain that it doesn't play like the original,xxmatt125xxNo. When you call something a remake you expect a certain level of changes and improvements. This isn't cutting it.
Cows will be Cows eh? Sony doens't call those remakes? They're HD remaster or HD collections or something.[QUOTE="noxboxlive"]
At least its not like sony, they arnt just going to port with nothing done.

Yeah come on give us SOMETHING.. New levels, or heck just expand a bit on the old ones.. Revamp the library for crying out loud its not like the original was perfect. Add new plots to the story or something give us a reason to replay this game even if we have played it 100000 times before.. Which most of us who owned and original xbox have. Updated graphics don't really do much.. when its only one generation difference at least. I mean you are going to forget you are playing a remake after just a few minutes.
like the OoT remake there is really nothing different about it other than it being in 3D with better graphics and even then after the novelty of the graphical improvements wear off I'm left with the same exact game I've already played soooo many times.
This thread's point wasn't asking if it was one or the other. It is asking why some people call it a remake. When it's not. It's not a remake, It's not a remaster. It falls somewhere between. Take your brain outside of the box for a walk, there are more answers than "one or the other". ;)

It is a remake just a disappointing one. When you do anything that actually requires recoding and retooling an older game from pretty much the ground up then its a remake.. A remaster is just increasing the resolution and framerate and a few other minor things that don't really require all that much work.
4 player co-op. Nuff' said. 6matt6Yea that's cool, but they should of remade halo ce multiplayer with a damn sprint option and included some new maps.

They have added terminals to the game similar to Halo 3 (although in video form i think) that flesh out the story further and give hints on halo 4.
[QUOTE="6matt6"]4 player co-op. Nuff' said. DOOOOOOOOOOPIDYea that's cool, but they should of remade halo ce multiplayer with a damn sprint option and included some new maps. Look, they already explained why they didn't remake the MP from the original, they did not want to split up the online userbase (i.e. people playing Reach), especially for 7 maps, which is why later on the maps will be available as DLC for people who just own Reach.

They didn't retool anything, just graphics, it's not a remake, it's the exact same game, it plays exactly the same. That's not an excuse at all. When people are playing Halo online multiplayer, and they want to go from Reach maps to CE maps, you actually think it would be a "good" idea to have to switch discs when going into different map arenas? Just how would that make any sense? ALL maps should be accessible from one lobby.
At least its not like sony, they arnt just going to port with nothing done.
noxboxlive
Yeah, but Sony don't preach them as being something different than that.
Also, they come in a collection of 2 or 3 games at the same price as Halo.
The thing that ruins a Halo collection for me is the fact that it doesn't have the original MP. How hard can it be to port? If anything they should give both Reach and CE multiplayer!

Indeed. I'm sorry TC if you cannot accept that, but hey I heard they will be doing cool things with the "cIassic" playlists. The fact that a fanbase would accept a 10+ year old game with simply a pallet swap and features that SHOULD be in it that AREN'T is astounding. No.Bad-School-Girl
What are the missing features that should be in Halo Anniversary?
I thought it was a great idea. I liked the orginial halo games, and I am glad they aren't changing them too much. The graphics are a HUGE improvment. I don't know if you've seen some of the videos, but it looks tons better.
Could we have had a more modern code so that it was truly a game of today's caliber? Sure, but why fix what isn't broken?
it was known since day one it was just a remaster.
Better graphics with the ability to switch to the old game on the fly, new story elements via terminals, hidden easter eggs and skulls, new story elements injected into the game via other ways.
40 Bucks for the exact same game with graphics slightly prettier. And not even the original multiplayer? I thought it was a real remake, new engine, truly current graphics and physics, remade original multiplayer... That would be fine for 40 bucks, as is the game should be 20 max. Or have Halo 2 also. JohnDead80
Slightly. Funny
It's basically just one of those HD remakes. That's it. I'm not interested in it but I'm not a Halo fan. If you love Halo but missed the first then you really should purchase it.
Dont really understand how people can hate on this yet no one hates on Team Ico Collection or God of War collection. You can obiously tell they put a lot of effort into this remake. You are just hating on Halo because it is Halo. Sad really considering how good the series is.
Except for the fact TC, that it's running on the reach engine and it's not just "slighlty" improved graphics either...go look at the original Halo and then look at the CE Anniversery. There is a HUGE difference in the graphics.
The MP thing does kinda dissapoint me though, I was hoping to have the orginal Halo MP online with the original gameplay stuff. Seriously that would be AWESOME!
But hey, at 40$ it's a steal and definately a good value considering the overall package.

Hit the nail on the head. The very definition of, right here folks!
If they arent gonna do this remake right why the **** even do it? Microsoft is a very sad company these day's yea that's our first party support for 360 half ass remakes for game's from 10 years ago.DOOOOOOOOOOPID
But they ARE doing it right. So not sure if you even have any point at all.

armor abilities are garbage they should not have been put into classes, each character should have the ability to use armor/jetpack/sprint that's much more balanced and make's for crazier game.Turn that frown around and rejoice in the greatness of Halo. Now a new generation can experience the original Halo. Isn't that a good thing? You're focused too much on the negative, if any is to be found.

They have modified a few levels, listen to what they say. They've added new plots through terminals, and the new engine can be immediately switched with the old one to see how much of a difference it is. They've also modified the physics slightly.
