That's interesting. The original version on the Wii U scored a 4.5, and this version appears to be a slight downgrade with missing features, 3 years later.
I think the 7 is a good score. That's probably what I would give the game, too.

I think the original review was way too low. The original really should have scored a 7 or 8. It's a fun game and imo worth playing. I'm kind of glad that it's being given a score that's more in line with how I feel about it now, rather than given a 3 since it's worse than the Wii U version that scored a 4.5.
The reviewer said he loved Zombie U on Wii U and thought it was great, he said this version hurt from lack of dual screen so i feel he couldnt rate it as high.
If only he had reviewed the Wii U version though.
This is what the original should have gotten :-|
I believe it's different editors, who did wrote the review for ZombiU?
@FireEmblem_Man: No clue, can't be arsed to check.
Oh well, who cares
Well, I did enjoy ZombiU and felt that it was more of an 8 than a 4.5 :P
Oh well, indeed, no point crying over spilled milk.

Exactly. I hate these flip flops in review scores. Can be utterly confusing for the consumer to see two differing scores for the same game. If you're gonna change reviewers at least stay on par with what the original scorer gave. Alas, oh well.
The score it should have got in the first place
Hold up, ZombiU version was better cause the Gamepad made it fun and PS4 version get's a 7? Somethings not right here.
The gamepad most definitely did not make it fun. I freaking hated having to take my eyes off the TV. Ugh...
Yes, I still had a Wii U back then.
Sheep before release and the extremely disappointing 4.5/10 were saying that even if it were to be ported, it wouldn't be the same experience because the Pad is crucial. Yeah, yeaaaaah lolPad.

That was the entire point of ZombiU. You look at your Gamepad to simulate looking into your backpack. The TV would just show your character looking in the bag.
It's kinda like Five Nights at Freddy's where you can look at the Security Cameras but not your office at the same time.
well not all people are the same. So its not a shock it scored differently. Review sites arent hive minds. If one person doesint like the game that doesint mean they went and check with everyone else to make sure they hate it as well. All you do is show your work, make sure its written correctly and have reasons for your claims may they be positive or negative. Only type of consistency you should look for is from the editor not the site itself.

Yeah, different people with different opinions. Enjoyed it myself.
GS Reviews now...........Hahahahahhahahahaa
finally lost your mind?
No but I think GS reviewers might have. lol
So are you telling me Until Dawn is better than Gears: Ultimate edition? Metacritic disagrees with GS and the Sony fanboys here. :)

Until Dawn isn't bad, it's extremely dumb and a cliche horror flick in every possible way, but it's entertaining and funny for sure. However the game has literally the worst framerate of any game I have seen this entire generation, it's bad, really bad, like I'm questioning if it's hitting single digits bad...
Maxwell McGee (if I remember correctly) wanted it to be a shooter game...it wasn't so he gave it a low score. :P

Yeah I heard it was alright, I am saying that most sites have Until Dawn at around 7.0+ and Gears at around 8.0. Like I been saying for almost six months now that GS rates PS exclusives higher and Xbox exclusives lower than most gaming sites.

Oh no doubt, it's no secret that staff at this site are not fans of the console, there's been multiple videos where they're talking poorly of it with a cynical and snide demeanor.
There's no question in my mind that game ratings are getting knocked down because of the platform itself and preference.
Ha. What a joke. The game isn't a gem by any means but I think a 7 is a fair score and should've been what the Wii U version had gotten in the first place.
GameSpot and they're half-assed reviewers completely lost me whenever they didn't give Bayonetta 2 GOTY last year. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the game deserved to get GOTY (it certainly wasn't my personal GOTY.) However, when you fail to give it to the only game that scored a 10 last year, it completely contradicts the site's scoring system.
Then they turn around and award two games a 10 this year which, for all intents and purposes, mean jack shit according to the way they handled the 2014 GOTY. I think it's safe to say that GameSpot is no longer a relevant critic.
Different reviewer I guess. There is no 'Gamespot standard' it seems, the score is simply a reflection of the person reviewing it, it's the opinion of that person alone.
To this day, I still think that the magazine "Electronic Gaming Monthly" had the best review system. They had 3-4 reviewers with fairly different taste score each game, and this was great because they often disagreed with each other and you would get 2nd and 3rd/4th opinions. The downside is their reviews were very short.
Either way, I got this game on XOne and I like it. I remember playing it at a friends' a while back on his WiiU, and we loved it....in fact, I almost purchased a WiiU because of it. I also remember being bewildered when I saw the poor Gamespot review, thinking we played a different game or something.....but no, it's just very simple.....some people like it and some people don't.

We've moved to conspiracies now. Not everyone is going to think alike, & the GS score wasn't even the worst score. Nine years later, & the guy that loved it initially, now thinks it's a forgettable game.
that isnt the point. its just a gimmick that was not fun. you dont need to physically look away from the tv screen. they fixed this intrusion with the normal version.
That was the Gimmick WAS THE FREAKING POINT and pretty much sold (what little it did) the game!
They didn't "fix" anything they compromised the feature for Consoles that don't have the Gamepad as a standard controller. Turns out it works just fine without it, but The Point of the Gamepad was to simulate that YOU are looking into a bag because if you were actually looking in a bag you wouldn't be too aware of your surroundings because you're looking in a BAG! you had to rely on the TV sound and look up once in awhile to see if there were Zombies around like in an actual real life scenario as if you were in the game.
Taking out that feature it's pretty much just a standard Zombie game like Dying Light or Left 4 Dead except with less Guns and Ammo to deal with (that cricket bat was your only friend).
I'd like to see how much it detracts from the experience by playing it with a regular controller.
Main issue seems to be that they miss the 2nd screen on the controller.

hey. i rented it for the wii u and didnt like. i thought it was a chore. all the gamepad shit. the having to look away from the tv screen... the camera thing... the whole prepper pad shidealio. i'm pretty excited to play this game with normal controls. call it what you want, but pretending forced controls on everyone and calling it "the point" seems... against what games are supposed to be, dont you think? i mean, its why they are re-releasing it on the other systems without the gamepad. am i right? of course i am.
@ladyblue: they can't lol. It's like we have kids running around and covering their ears and screaming lalala we can't hear you because we are right.
Look at the lems too in this thread playing conspiracy theories . Ps4 winning has made them insane.
@lamprey263: that's what a fanboy mind would say especially a Lem. It is a different reviewer. Why can't people understand that?
@freedomfreak:
A: they're playing dumb.
B: they are letting their fanboy mind cloud their judgment like lamprey here.
C: we have kids here.

7 on the wii u in 2012 was a good score.
4.5 in 2015 on pc/X1/ps4 would be a bit too low but wouldn't give it more than 6.
