So yeah what developer was without a doubt the best , and only state ONE and give ur reasons! I know it seams too likely , but my personal choice is bungie.. This decade, they invented one the biggest major gaming icons since mario , and there games were akways ubdoubtedly high quality. Theyre practically resoinsible for xbox live and basically popularized the xbox single handedly... So thet deserve that recognition

Rockstar.

GTA3 was the defining game of last gen and they released Vice City and San Andreas, both of which were met with some serious critical acclaim. GTA4 was pretty good too.

Nintendo. Call me a fanboy, I don't care, but they really did well this decade. Hell they won 3 GOTY's. More than any other developer.

Nintendo if you're counting the whole company, but the fact is there are many different developers within it. So, I have to give it to Valve. HL2, TF2 and Portal > all.

Valve is a no-brainer. I'd also say Bungie since they debuted last decade, and when you look at it now, they are now moving onwards to another installment for this decade.

Nintendo, there's really no way to debate this. They have by far the highest count of AA and AAA games, and tie for the highest number of AAAA games (1, tied with Rockstar and Kojima Productions). At Metacritic they have two games with a 97, one with a 95, 93, 90, 89, 3 87s, an 85 and many others in the low AA range... and that's just their console work. On the DS they have a 91, 3 90s, an 89, 88, 6 87s, and beyond that there are so many Nintendo deved 80-86s I'm gonna cut it off there.

I dare you to find any dev with even close to that many high scoring games.

My answer still wouldn't change, this year Nintendo released a AAAAE and a ton of AAEs.

I want to say Bungie as well, if only because they managed to establish a franchise almost as big as Nintendo's big titles and in a fraction of the time. But I think the Halo train went hard for the first half of the decade, moreso than the latter half. Already by Halo 3, the popularity was ceding to Call of Duty. Maybe because I was younger then and was really wrapped up in the hype, but it seemed to me the Halo 2 launch was the highlight of that run.

Clover/Platinum Games if that counts. Viewtiful Joe, God Hand, Okami, Bayonetta, Madworld and Vanquish. That's a good amount of variety.

No... this decade is getting ready to end.

By saying that you are saying the new millennium didn't start in the year 2000

the new decade began in 2000(1), and include 2001(2), 2002(3), 2003(4), 2004(5), 2005(6), 2006(7), 2007(8), 2008(9), 2009(10)

10 years = decade, and Decades start on XX00, XX10, XX20, XX30, XX40, XX50, XX60, XX70, XX80, XX90

I agree with what the majority here are saying which is Rockstar. With the huge phenomena with GTA3 and on they're now among the best game studios in the world.

Love them or hate them, they've dominated this decade.

Not at all, really. But I'm afraid this is moving off-topic.

The simple fact of the matter is there wasn't a year zero between 1 BCE and 1 CE. So year 1 + 1000 more years = 1001 = new millennium. 1001 + 1000 more years = 2001 = new millennium.

Ah Nintendo of course! Windwaker, Galaxy 1+2, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Mario Kart Wii, Fire Emblem, F Zero GX, and we could really go on all day, couldn't we? :) Props to Sony too, they have been doing their best to beat Nintendo's first party, especially this gen. They're getting close!

That's the point though. before you turn one you are zero years old. That's not the case with the calender. It just started as year one, hence we are in the 2010th year.

But 00's are 9 years. Says your link. but the dictionary says: decade |ˈdekād| noun 1 a period of ten years : he taught at the university for nearly a decade. • a period of ten years beginning with a year ending in 0 : the fourth decade of the nineteenth century. 2 a set, series, or group of ten, in particular • |ˈdekid| each of the five divisions of each chapter of the rosary. The plot thickens :o
