FFX because it was the first JRPG I've played. Played it 8 years ago and I can still remember most parts of the story. FFX is truly an amazing game.

FFX has amazing visual design, a good story (even tho it has awkward voice acting), an amazing world and atmosphere, the best music I've ever heard in a video game, and a fairly decent combat system (for the time), but I'd argue that it laid the basis for the main problem with FFXIII, which was being overly linear. Still, FFX handled its linearity better than FFXIII did.
The main problem is called "Toriyama". That guy is easily the oldest employee on Square right now since all the other left the company and he has yet to make a single good game. He's been involved in past FF projects (minor roles though) but now he finally got the chance to direct some of them. But take a moment to find the games on which he has worked on and on all the things that he has been in charge of are the worst part of the game.
I'm sleepy and can't remember much but he was the writer for the Third Birthday and the game had the worst story of all the Parasite Eve games and it was bad as hell. He directed FFX-2 and turned the series into a Charlie's Angels joke, he directed FF13 and look how that turned out (he was inspired by COD!)and then he directed FF13-2 and that one was even worse. He derailed the series yet again just like he did with FFX-2.
To be honest, part of why I'm excited for FFvs is because Toriyama has no hands on it.
I'll say Golden Sun: the Lost Age just to be different and the GS series is awesome and deserves attention.
[QUOTE="illmatic87"] I am gonna hand it to Chrono Trigger. It holds up so well, you could port the game for ages and it'll stand its ground of greatness.starjet905Not really. Chrono Trigger needs a healthy dose of nostalgia to be enjoyed at this point in time.
It got high scores wen it was ported to the DS in 2008.
I haven't played the DS remake, so I can't judge that, but if it was nothing better than the original SNES game, I guess people with the nostalgia factor bought it and rated it.It got high scores wen it was ported to the DS in 2008.

I love them all, I bought Digital Devil Saga 2 and Nocturne when I was only half way thru Digital Devil Saga 1 it was so good. I have never comitted such an act for any other game on such blind faith.
Currently playing thru Digital Devil Saga 2 but i will roll with you on this one since we can only pick 1
put down 2 for Nocturne TC!

That's a little more strategy how about more of an RPG?
Always annoys me. It's a strategy RPG. I mean, just because it's real time doesn't mean it's not an RPG. It has all the levelling up, HP, AP, turn-attacks and all :(I haven't really played a ton of JRPGs, and I guess my answer would depend on what counts as a JRPG. Right now I'm playing through FF7 for the first time, and excluding the fact that it's one of the ugliest games I've ever played, I really like it so far. I'm stuck on this damn demon gate boss though. I plan on playing some more SNES and PS1 RPGs after FF7 too.
I guess I'd have to go with Pokemon Crystal though. I got tired of Pokemon after the Ruby/Sapphire series, but I loved the Silver/Gold/Crystal series. In fact I bought all of them lol.
