Bayonetta says hi. And she didn't try to commit suicide after punching God into the Sun.

Kratos also wouldn't even be able to touch Dante.

Kratos and Dante are bros.

Actually, he's right. Bayonetta cleared out EVERY SINGLE ANGEL IN HEAVEN and then went on to kill GOD. If that isn't the most f***ing damage ever dealt in a game, then I don't know what is.

Its asinine, a game like that shouldn't even be available to the public ... but thats for a different forum and thread.

How foolish of me, Ryu is only 2nd most bad ass followed by Kratos at 3rd. But numero uno bad-ass is none other than...

KIRYU KAZAMA!

So killing Death, Fate, destroying the earth and killing multiple Gods, Titans, mythic heroes, hordes of mythic creatures and taking a walk to hell and back every now and then seems less then killing a buch of angels and God (not really God btw, GoW is much more ture to Greekmythology then Bayonetta is to current religions) why?

Hes just angry at the Gods. Angry enough at them that he doens't care about anything else.Hes not angry the world, just its greek mythology masters. He tryed to kill himslef because he has nothing to live for after he got hes vengeance and that brings us back to the point that the Gods that hes actually angry at took everything else from him. There you go, full circle.

Every human, fictional or not, is drived by some sort of emotiong and Kratos is no different so you might as well call us all ''Emos''.

Actually that would be "multiple gods" you only use the capital G when referring to the christian God.
I'd say that there's a big gab between a 'badass' and a 'psychotic lunatic'. A badass (imo, obviously) never has to speak or draw a weapon - he can clear a room with a steely gaze. If he does have to draw a weapon, it's usually for a quick, clean kill - he won't maim enemies for his own sick amusement, he'll just get the job done. A lunatic, meanwhile, tends to grunt and roar a lot while decapitating everyone he meets. Kratos doesn't strike me as the former - I don't think there's anything particularly badass about him that can't otherwise be described as a serious mental instability. Sure, he kills a lot and sleeps around, but Geralt does more or less the same thing while remaining *respectable*. Actually, to paraphrase the Sniper: "one's a profession[al] and the other's a mental sickness".

I believe, sir, that you have won this argument. (I would submit as evidence the difference between Marcus Fenix (screamy chainsawy murderation) vs Captain Titus/ Master Chief (killing the hell out of the enemy for the greater good).

Solid Snake, Big Boss and Sol Badguy. Snake and Big Boss are basically the purest definition of human badassery.
How many characters in anything face death as well as either of these two. They don't whine and cry about revenge. They don't care about the fame or fortune, they just do what they do because they believe it's for the best and they do it without giving a crap about what others do to stop them.
Sol Badguy is just a perfect example of how to make a marty stu who is awesome and likable while remaining beyond broken power wise.

It's Kratos basically. Forget the motive, he's just badass to the max.

I would add Link to the list, but only because he killed every type of enemy in existance.

beganoo

Those emotions are in our graps to control, there's a reason why we have a brain and a heart, methaphorically speaking. Unfortunately, the developers forgot to add to the character of Kratos a brain. Maybe there would have ben a far more cooler ending, like for example showing teenagers that played the game the value that it's never to late to start from the beginning, not damn trying to kill himself as if he was a brainless machine that doesn't have the capability to think beyond revenge. That's not cool, or bad ass.

But it's all my humble opinion, i can't really disagree with how you feel with this character, each connects with him in different ways..

Who, Kratos? The guy who spends most of his time whining about his past? And being a god means nothing. Kratos killed Ares. Someone else could just as easily kill Kratos.

Alucard kills Death. Soma kills Death. Leon kills Death. Hector kills death. Everyone in the f***ing Castlevania series kills Death. It isn't an impressive feat, especially given he is always second to last before Dracula. Has Kratos killed Dracula? No? Well, then every protagonist from an Castlevania game >>> Kratos

No, it was God. It didn't reference any specific religion, but the monotheistic God was very much implied. "Creator of Everything" goes well beyond what any Olympian can do. And Bayonetta PUNCHED IT INTO THE SUN.

Seeing how Kratos hasn't fought Dracula yet... you can't really argue that he would lose agaisnt the others.

The main things that Kratos acheived is , climbing out of hell, killing everyone in your family, including 4 titans, and unleashing hell/chaos on the entire world. Forgeting motive , that's an impressive feat.

Reading a little he was not the almighty God. It is a mixture of Dante's Inferno with Norse mythology. Balder is Baldr (or Baldur) which is a Norse God (son of Odin) not God Almighty himself. If he was Bayonetta would have destroyed Earth and everything yet she kept fighting against angels and fell to the Earth. So he was clearly not The God.

Not even close to equal. God created and Controls Death so they are in fact Nowhere NEAR equal. And who in Video games HASNT killed Death? He's a typical villain in most games. The Belmont's Kill Death almost every game with a whip. Death is killed all the time in RPG's.

There isn't anything wrong with being a member of SRK.

OneSanitarium

true but certain ones have their ways.

It's just the SF4/Capcom fanboys that are the problem, and with SRK being the largest and most popular site for the fighting game community, they just sort of flock there.

Exactly right. You nailed the ones I was mentioning.

FatherBaldur wasn't the final boss, nor was he the one that was hit into the sun.

OneSanitarium

That Jubileus God then? but he was dead. How is Almighty God dead? Clearly not Almighty God.

What?

According to the story in Bayonetta, Balder was trying to resurrect Jubileus which means it was dead. The Almighty God can't be dead. He might be the God of creation but Kratos also defeated the the King of Gods.

I don't recall Jubileus being dead, just sealed away.

If fighting Greek gods and titans or rather gigantic things makes you cool huh? Then Asura from Asura's Wrath should be cooler than Kratos due to his titans being bigger than planets. Look up some gameplay if you don't believe it.

Also this guy qualifies as most badA$$:

He wasn't that God because that God wouldn't be possible to get killed. He either was a poser or like the incarnation of one of the Holy Trinity and therefore comparable to Olympus Gods.kuraimen
Touche, sir!

No, it was God. It didn't reference any specific religion, but the monotheistic God was very much implied. "Creator of Everything" goes well beyond what any Olympian can do. And Bayonetta PUNCHED IT INTO THE SUN.

Three-che, sir!

Developed the science of cloning at age nine. Adopted into a prestigious family with strong military roots. Rose through the ranks fast. Snarky. Has a tragic backstory without all the whiny melodrama.

Lmao no character from any Japanese game can ever considered to be badass

What am I reading?

There's plenty of characters from Japanese games that are more badass than any western character out there. Just read this thread. >.>
