@quakeknight1991:
Bloodborne is looking less and less appealing to me the more i see of it. And it's formula has been done how many times before yet third person shooters are generic. To each their own but i'd take MS' lineup over Sony's.
That formula has been used in 3 games... Now compare it with the TPS genre... Yeah your point invalid all of a sudden.
Oh, so action role playing games have only been done 3 times.. got it...
So you are saying Souls series are "just another arpg"? OK!
As much as Quantum Break is "just another tps" I wasn't the one complaining about a stale concept for a game but simply pointing out that tps is overdone but in the same breath arpg's are unique is a little absurd.
Definitely Sony;
Wild, Rime, Bloodborne, The order 1886, Tearaway and silent hills are all games im interested in.
This can't be gamespot. The poll!!!!
M$ is only winning because at the time most people thought Tomb raider was exclusive to xbone. im sure if we knew then that it was timed exclusive Sony would be in the lead
Gap getting wider, MS marketers have obviously arrived.
They've definitely been visiting this site.
This thread was made the day after gamescom started...don't you think it is a good idea to wait for it to finish before you ask who won?
FANTASTIC point. That's a pretty logical way to approach a thread.
It depends on the goal though.
If you want a more balanced perspective to vote from you probably should wait.
However, if your goal is to run with emotion and especially after you fall for PR HYPE and you know others did too, making the thread as soon as you got news you want reactions too, then make the thread early. In this case, at first it felt like a bomb dropped and Tomb Raider was not a Timed Exclusive (according to PR, why people keep trusting PR I'll never know).
Clearly there was a slant by design as we also saw another thread also by the same OP proclaiming 'Tomb Raider is Exclusive!' and in that OP we were instructed there wasn't any "Timed Exclusive Shenanigans". That's right. Users were told in advance that the next TR (Tomb Raider) wasn't a timed exclusive and the evidence presented was PR! PR?!! What?! Of course, 24 hours later there was a retraction in that thread after badgering posters kept posting links that TR was actually a "timed Exclusive", but waiting to create a thread after the conference would have been the best way to approach taking in all this news. It certainly ruined the poll.
What was surprising to me was that we got clarification in 24 hours time. Usually it takes a year or more to see these games are timed exclusives and by then the people that made a big deal about the timed exclusive play pretend. They change their tune to, "That old game? LOL!" or "Port Begging, LOL!!!". It's never ending. Truth is not the goal, trolling large segments of users is.
What's intriguing is how fast and smart the media is with their approach to this Tomb Raider fiasco. The game was already slated to release across PC, 360, PS3, Xbone, and PS4 according to retailers a few months ago. Crystal Dynamics had been working on it since the last TR game. This timed exclusive deal didn't change the fact that the game was coming to 360 and Xbone, it just shelved the competitive versions. It seems like a waste of money to me as we were already going to get this TR game on Xbox systems anyways. That money could have been used to fund new games and IPs.
I'm not a big TR fan (got the last game free and didn't care much for it), but if I was at TR fan I would buy the new game on my 360 or Xbone in a year and a half. Truthfully though, I'm disappointed that a NEW game coming in holiday 2015 is still going to be held back by last gen, decade old hardware (2005 is when the 360 hardware released!). That's unfortunate and that's a long time from now. Thankfully games are releasing that aren't held back by last gen machines like Batman Arkham Knight, Witcher 3, Uncharted 4, The Order, GeoW4, and Halo 5.

Don't get me wrong i know it's a troll thread and they are probably interested less in the truth and more in their own preference but it never hurt to call them out on it even if they don't pay attention.
And it always make me laugh at how wholly some gamers give themselves over to hype and PR it is pretty sad.i just thank my stars i ain't one of them.
now that we know TB is timed exclusive then Sony wins by default. Bloodborne, Silent Hill, Hellblade, Tearaway port. MS had nothing of worth beside TB2.
LMAO!! No. We had already seen Bloodborne at the E3, so it wasn't anything special. Still looks great. P.T. was a nice surprise, but Silent Hill isn't a must have game. Hellblade was nothing but a CGI teaser. Tearaway was really the only big surprise. Microsoft showed more Sunset Overdrive, MCC and Halo 5 multiplayer. Tomb Raider was the big bomb and Cows like yourself were having meltdowns and tears all over SW. Time Exclusive or not. The PC & PS4 won't see it for at least 8-12 months. Just like DR3 and Ryse coming to the PC. Microsoft announced a lot of Big XB1 Bundles, which is nice. They are going to need them if they want to push more XB1's out the door. Of course everyone had Indies. Sony with Rime, No Man's Sky, Wild and a few others. Microsoft showed off Smite, Scream Ride, Super Hot, the excellent Below and a few other forgettables.
Beside the TR announcement, there really weren't any other megaton announcements. I was disappointed with both conferences, but many gamers think M$ TR announcement put them over the edge. Everyone said EA conference was a waste of time. Glad I didn't watch it. Was wondering if they showed NBA Live 15.

Who are you to say that Silent Hill isn't a must have? People are very excited to see that news, I know I was. That's a series I wanted to see rebooted for some time now.

If it isn't shown on MS and cant be used for DC on SW's it isn't worth it apparently, like the rest of SONY's games they showed.

Ah, but of course.
It's just such sound logic after all :P

It's never been a must have game since it's creation. lol!! It has it's hardcore fans, but that's about it. You must be one of them. Most gamers don't care about Silent Hill. I'd love to see Konami do another Suikoden, Snatcher (Policenauts), Rocket Knight Adv, Blades of Steel or Double Dribble game for next-gen. If they want to reboot something. I'd rather play reboots of those games.

It doesn't matter because you don't care about it? IF you want to talk about niche titles Snatcher is at the top of the list.
Silent Hill has a fairly large following.
Now that it's almost done I think it's pretty obvious PC completely wiped the floor with every other platform this year. This is what always happens on gamesom (console companies use up most of their annoucements on E3, while pc ones save up for GC), but it's been quite some time since the difference was this big.
sony had a good variety of games but Tomb Raider trumps everything sony had
lol timed three month exclusive
Seems like the general consensous over at gaf is that Sony won fairly easily. This poll is misleading cause most thought tomb raider was a permanent exclusive for xbox one.

Now that the dust has settled, we've seen that Phil Spencer has blown his credibility and everyone's talking about Silent Hills. MS punched itself in the face.
@GrenadeLauncher: lol whats your souce for 3 months , might be 10 years
lmao when have you heard of ten year exclusivity?
It's three months because it's an Xbox "exclusive."
@GrenadeLauncher: somewhere between 3 month and 10 years depending on how these deals are working (ryse , DR3) ,i certainly wouldn't be betting this is short phil spencer said they are publishing and are paying for development , since they didn't buy the IP will will make its way to other platforms someday but it won't be on the ps4 any time soon .
MS by a wide margin
how does it feel to be in 2nd place the last 3 gens
At least Xbox has never came last.
Ouch. Poor PS3 :(
are you saying the wii came in first last gen?
logic.
Well if you're not going by sales then 360 easily won last gen and Xbone is winning now. Poor Sony :(

you are more delusional than I had imagined.
If I have to choose one, it's Microsoft because Tomb Raider being a timed exclusive for Xbox is the ONLY thing people will talk about nowadays. The rest of their show was decent. Nothing that really stood out other than that.
Sony on the other hand showed more games than Microsoft but lacked a showstopper. Everything looked good but nothing that really grabbed enough people's attention.
Just my two cents.
