I dunno..only ones that come close imo are Mass Effect and Lost Odyssey, and Gears of War is still better...

Unopened? wow I don't think I could do that to myself. Anyways as of right now it seems to me both are pretty equal. I think PS3 may start to take off graphics wise at a noticeable difference maybe next year but it's hard to say. Honestly I don't know what to tell you but for me PS3 was just the better deal as it offered more of the games I am looking forward to and they are not coming to 360.

Unreal Tournament 3, Uncharted, Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, Ratchet and Clank: TOD, and now MGS4(according to Gamepro), look significantly better than Gears of War. But i believe that games like Mass Effect and Bioshock are right up there with Gears of war, and impress me a lot more. They have better physics, have much more distinct colors and are over all more immersive games than Geow. Its been pretty much confirmed that Geow 2 won't leaps and bounds a head of what GeoW brung to the table graphically. But what they are improving is the A.I and physics, you know the stuff that actually affects gameplay.


Playstation 3 definately has much more room to grow graphically, from GT: HD, to GT5: P the difference in GT5 will be substantial.

Ps3 seems to be constantly pushing the graphics envelope lately with their upcoming games (killzone2, MGS4, FFX13 all claim to be the best looking), and there doesnt appear to be any stop. As of right now it can be pretty much agreed that the ps3's Uncharted is the best looking console game right now.

Those games aren't out yet, neither are games like GeOW 2. Either way, 360 make up for not having crazy graphics with other things, example halo3 has been said to have bad graphics, but it has awesome MP, Forge, and theatre

Yes, believe it or not. Sequels like Gran Turismo 5, Resistance 2 and new IPs like Heavy Rain and Little Big Planet will prove this.
Just like the 360 had a jump in quality in games like MAs Effect, Lost Oddysey, Bioshock. The PS3 will also have n increase in quality, but in a much bigger scale, and at a slower but steady interval.

I dont believe you understand the point of my thread. It's whole point is about unreleased games...

And...I dont understand your halo comment at all. Are you implying that the ps3 has better graphics, but the 360 somehow makes up for that in content? I find that laughable. It is entirely plausible to have good graphics and good content, if you havent noticed already from the games out right now (Mass Effect comes to mind).

Imo, i do not believe there is a difference to the power of the 360 and ps3, but this confuses me badly. why is the console that is apparently harder to be developed for having an outburst of good looking games come up, while for the 360, no game has been able to outshine gears' graphics?

Reread the post, and then come back with a logical discussion please. I'll give you a hint what you missed, the words "coming up". Seriously, I've seen too many posts saying "those havent been released yet".

And while not everyone agrees that uncharted is the best looking, the general consensus in SW is that it indeed is, which is why i used it. And, to me, uncharted does indeed look better than ME or bioshock, from first-hand experience, though Bioshock is more artistically appealing. My opinion OFC.
