i dont want to follow a linear path set by dev, i want to set my own routes around a level without jump i cant do it. you kids just havent been playing shooters long enough to realize how much no jumping ruins gameplay.op is mad because he doesn't know how to use the game mechanics to move efficiently around the map

sure it is. perfect dark zero xbox360 has crappy level design compared to quake 1996. The reason? quake has jumping PDZ doesnt and has rolling instead.Fun > Realism. Rolling is the bomb diggity, the bees knees. Can't wait for Gears 3.

dude i grew up playing epicgame's freaking games before gears of war crap existed. They should listen to their real fanbase who actually know gameplay.callofdutyzone3
Their fanbase is made up of people that bought the game...the millions of them. And the online community is still going strong, seeing that Gears 2 is still one of the most played XBL titles. The fanbase has spoken. It seems to be doing just fine without being able to jump.

without people who like me who bought epicgames game's on the computer over 10 years ago gears of war wouldnt exist. believe me gears of war need's a jump.Umm hello without people like me buying unreal back in 1998 on pc this stupid ass gears of war franchise wouldnt exist. gears of war need's a dedicated jump button im epicgames real fanbase not people saying it doesnt need jump.callofdutyzone3
Not all games need a jump buttong. Some do, some don't. It's called different mechanics. next thing you'll tell me is that Zelda needs a jump button.
Also, hyping something before it's released leads to dissappointment.
You must be a troll. A dedicated jump button would be so pointless & out of place in a Gears game. The guys look like they're wearing a car anyway, it would look ridiculous if they could jump around. Being able to haul over obstacles is perfect.

plenty of cover based shooters without jump exist like mafia . there's not enough cover based shooters with a jump button actually, there's more cover based shooters without a jump. when it comes to cover system shooters no jumping is more cliched.nope i cant even jump over a railing dude. that's proof no jumping sucksYou must be a troll. It's not like it matters how many copies of Unreal you bought how many years ago. What matters to them is the millions of people that are playing their game now.
Epic will cater to the majority of those that are still playing the game. So no. No jump necessary. There's plenty of other things going on in the game to render jumping rather irrelevent.

I am 100% sure you never even touched a consoles, not even a PC game. when you dislike a game just because you can't jump, your opinion means nothing, if you need to jump, your playing the game wrong, I guess you must love halo, because you can bunny hump?
99% of the time, when you are moving or shooting someone, you are not jumping...you shouldnt even be jumping while shooting

rolling is irrelevant because it doesnt help me jump over a railing and you cant vault over a railing in gears of war. so that proves jumping is more relevant than barrell rolling.were you playing unreal back in 1998 on a 3dfx voodoo graphics card? if not your opinion doesnt mean much.[QUOTE="callofdutyzone3"][QUOTE="Vinegar_Strokes"] im 32 and been playing the same games you have for as long as you have. and guess what... i love gears. gamer-adam1

did you even grow up playing mario on nes or snes? You clearly aren't understanding what I'm saying. Not all games need jumping to work. Some, like Mario (beleive me, I know) need jumping to work. The games is built around it, in fact. But a game like a cover based Third Person Shooter doesn't, because the cover system is good (usually). Don't twist my words so that they sound like an idiot's rambling.
Next thing you'll tell me is that Zelda should have a jump button.

All games actually need a jump to have some freedom. Watch this video of socom 4 i made....you cannot fire your weapon while jumping. Why would anyone be against adding this in gears of war? WTF http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=ffbztk&s=7Umm hello without people like me buying unreal back in 1998 on pc this stupid ass gears of war franchise wouldnt exist. gears of war need's a dedicated jump button im epicgames real fanbase not people saying it doesnt need jump.callofdutyzone3With this kind of logic Pokemon should have been a Mario clone. Epic owes you nothing. For the money you spent you got Unreal. Thats the trade, they owe you nothing else. They shouldn't have to make every game cater to the same exact group of people.
what's up with everyones stereotype jumping=shooting in midair/bunnyhopping socom 4 and killzone2/3 have jump and you cant jump and shoot your gun in midair. so why cant gears of war do this same ****callofdutyzone3
please troll harder, you can get over obstacles in gears

[QUOTE="callofdutyzone3"]mario would be better without a jump button...rolls eyes vashkeyThe difference between Mario and Gears is that Mario is about jumping. Gears is not. It's not built jumping at all.
Wha- Did you just use logic? How dare you!
Anyways, TC, I see there's no reasoning with you, so we're done.
