It helps to actually play the games.Spartan8907
No it doesn't
Halo CE did Halo best.
and after that IT was just a downward spiral where the Campaign is concerned IMO.
the worst part about Halo 3 is that it requires you to have XBL to have fun given that the single player mode is less than 10 hrs long. a pretty cheap marketing scam i tell ya.

You're right, because I've played all 3 this is why I made this post.
Halo 3 is the definition of EPIC. A good singleplayer along with the best Multiplayer to date, Forge and the new saved films feature. GREATNESS.nivet14
See, it's people like you who generalize halo 3. "The best multiplayer to this date..." I don't think so. Maybe after you've played unreal tournament '99 or command and conquer renegade you would have a clue.

Actually, this is the definition of epic:
1 : of, relating to, or having the characteristics of an epic
2 a : extending beyond the usual or ordinary especially in size or scope
:P

Good singleplayer- check.. Oh wait there are numerous upon numerous games let alone FPS's with great singleplayers some even argualby better..
Best multiplayer to date... fail.. i am sorry this is flat out opinion.. In the end its the exact same as Halo 2's, and its a simplistic death match game 80% of the time.. Now this is not to say that its bad, but its far formt he best.....Forge? Map editors have been around sense the 90s for shooters.. Great graphics? They are alright/tolerable graphics, great is too subjective to argue about.. And customizable spartan armor does really nothing for you, and similar things have been done ont he pc before with mods.

nah, it still can't make up for the lack of single player gaming experience. so you are saying Halo 3 is only fun when you have people to play with, right? so it means Halo 3 is not a fun game in itself, its only the buddies you are playing with that makes it fun.

On top of that, halo 3 is primarily made for an online experience.
I am beginning to get tired of all the Halo 3 hating, before the game got a 9.5 and owned all the haters it was ok. Every one deserves the right to question some thing. but now after the game has scored amazingly every were and it has shown just how fun games can be people are still bashing it. I think we just have to live with the fact some people are just born Haters.TrailorParkBoy

dude, that means the game itself sucks, and if less than 10 hrs of single player mode is okay, then i guess Heavenly Sword shouldn't flop right?
I enjoyed Halo 3 the most of the campaigns. It just offered the right amount of variety with the overall fun factor that Halo games seem to have.-RPGamer-

When did I say that, I said there is always multiplayer with your friends thats has no need of XBL gold. Please don't place words in my mouth, I was responding to multiplayer. I personally don't mind the gold stuff, but thats off topic. It may not be the best thing, but I thought it was quite good. I did enjoy the single player experience, jumping in not knowing the general storyline of previous installations. Generally FPSs are picked up for the multiplayer portions, because usually as fun as the single portions are, they general end quick. I did buy it for severeal reasons, first of genereal fun in a good, but sually short campaign. Addon, I wanted co-op with either online or offline, which I got both. And mainly to be played online, and generally a good get together with friends type thing. That there warrent my purchasing reasons.

It deserves a 9.5 because. 1) Awesome Graphics 2) Forge (nothing new for PC gamers but never been done on a console) 3) 4 player online COOP 4) Web integration (my desktop background is of a screen shot I took) 5) Best Online (well multilayer, like splint screen/LAN to) experience on a console, no question about it[QUOTE="trinawoods"][QUOTE="-RPGamer-"]I enjoyed Halo 3 the most of the campaigns. As a person that does think the game is over-rated, I must admit the four person campaign co-op is a great idea and very refreshing.. I only wish more shooters on all platforms would try to incoperate this to some degree.. Thats one of the reasons I am so excited for Left 4 Dead for instance.

FPS are like this, fun but short campaign consisting of 8-12 levels, but the bulk is the after thoughts, multiplayer and now lately co-op. Add in some extra nifty features, you got more replay there.

It's nothing specific (as I already stated). It has nothing to do with going along with some assumed flow, I play more niche games than most so flow means nothing to me.
It's not really hidden either, it was something easy for me to feel, but difficult to explain b/c well none of you are me. It was fun, period. It wasn't anything specific like the new weapons, modified weapons, new vehicles, specific missions, the ending, the plot, the level design, etc. It was more how all of that made the game a fun experience for me.
