How the hell is this worse than episode 1?

They really need to stop letting DIMPS develop sonic games.

They focused on improving on two things which were the graphics and physics and not the other things.

It wasn't amazing but it was better than episode 1.

Although I still wouldn't replay either of them again like I would the originals.

It scored exactly how I thought it would. My stance on it is if you're a Sonic fan you might find some enjoyment in it, but everyone else should stay clear. Hopefully for their next 2D installment they use Christopher Whithead's Retro Engine so that we can get a proper game in the same style as the classics.

To be honest I never found the old school sonic boss fights exciting. I enjoyed sonic adventure 1&2 boss fights more enjoyable.

Still haven't read the whole review, but just looking at the Good and Bad sections made laugh :P

One of the complaints people had about Unleashed and Generations was that "Sonic was too fast!" (not sure if GS complained about this, but many reviewers did) and now one of the things in the Bad section is... "some levels lack a sense of speed" :P Oh well!

If you liked the Adventure games, then there's no reason to give Generations the shaft when it's far superior in gameplay, level layout and design, camera angles, and music.

No duh!Episode one was close to medicore for me and I don't want to waste my money on this game.

I liked them too, because Sonic always has good music, but Planet Wisp, Rooftop Run, and Crisis City run circles around most of the tracks in those games.

It's pretty sad to think this is suppose to be the sequel to Sonic 3 & k. It seems like a major downgrade to the classic games and Generations.

Back to the Sonic cycle then I guess.

Didn't get the first part and I have no interest in the second part either. I lost interest in DIMPS Sonic games when they decided to seperate it into 3 seperate parts instead of just making one nice, big game.

Did Part 2 also recycle levels from past Sonic games like the first part?

Well it's an anniversary game so of course the music is just remixes, and the stages even if they are based off old ones, are designed and play completely differently. If you think the only thing the Adventure games have wrong is the camera angles, you are blinded with nostalgia. It's slow, clunky, and broken with characters falling off the screen to their deaths. Then on top of it, there are needless fetch quest and shooting levels which have nothing to do with Sonic. Generations is fast and seamless, which is a far cry from the relic that the Adventure games are.

I feel like Sonic is never coming back.

as for generations vs adventure, I'm with shockwave. I prefer the sonic/shadow levels from SA2B to the 3d levels of generation and even the 2d ones, and it's not nostalgia because the sonic/shadow levels hold up well to this day. plus it has the chao garden. however the shooting and treasure hunting is pretty weak

Now SA1 seems pretty terrible based on the xbl demo.

Anyway, I saw TotalHalibut's "WTF is" for the game and it seemed pretty bad, but I haven't seen a whole lot of gameplay other than that.

To bad, I hoped they learnt from their faults in Episode 1

Then you're crazy as him. I just played Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 literally after I just posted that along with some other Genesis and Dreamcast games. They're both utter jittery **** The slightest touch on the analog and you die. All the love for those games lie in the atmosphere and nostalgia because the gameplay is unbelievably crappy.

It great to see Tails in action again...shame STILL can't play him alone...let alone single play. -_-

Oh the Sonic haters never cease to make me laugh. The idiocy is truly astounding.

But anyway, I'm kinda glad this game is actually getting the reviews it deserves unlike Episode 1. Maybe next time Sega will actually put some effort in to the next 2D Sonic. So many critics were fooled by the "2D Sonic must be good. 3D Sonic bad." mentality when reviewing Episode 1. It astounds me that Ep1 actually had a smiliar metascore to the fantastic Sonic Colours. In fact the Wii version has a higher metacore! It was mediocre at best, but now it seems the critics are actually opening their eyes and seeing Sonic 4 for what it is. Kinda like how when the Sonic Adventure games first came out the critics were blinded by "ZOMG Sonic in 3D!" when the games were actually mediocre at best, but when they were re-released on Gamecube critics actually opened their eyes.

Oh, and as usual I'm agreeing with Renegade Fury in a Sonic discussion. Generations is waaaaaaaaay better than both SA games. Oh nostalgia, how you do blind so many people. Sigh.

you know what, i actually don't know why it took SEGA 15 years (or more) to actually make Generations, the closest thing to the classics.

are SEGA employees deaf, or after 15 years do they still hope that their "new Sonic" would catch up to Mario?

Only bad thing is that for some dipsh!tted reason they didn't use the generations engine, so it literally just upscales 720p on pc, jaggies and all.
