SONY banned someone based on his real name

Sony made a good move tbh. If Sony let him have his name, then ten of thousands of people will start to abuse this name. It's already a big problem that there is so many pro radical islamic groups on GTA Online. Sucks for him and it's not cool. We cannot blame Sony for many people in his culture ruining it for innocent guys like him.

Its one of their company reps and their TOS, dude. Why shouldn't they get a little blame for it?

Why is anyone surprised? The Sony fanbase is one full of hate and misery, now we can see why, they get it from Sony themselves.

This is political correctness but probably not in the way you think it is. It's political correctness on Sony's part for banning a legitimate name because it might be offensive to some people.

Sony is more to blame than society because they are the one that actually banned the account. Not to say that what they did was not understandable, but blaming this on society is pure nonsense.

now there all sorts of clown on GTA I saw yesterday with names like alahh abar and so on that need a ban too....talking there crap glitching like crazy...most them guys are turning GTA into a glitch jihad....normally I am very liberal on a lot of things but I think we need to pull the plug on there social media circus as they flan the flames of hate and then claim they are innocent and doing gods work.

all the while on GTA 5 ......I don't know about other games but I seen them on action in there and there discusting commets how we don't allow them freedom of speech as they commit unspeakable acts all over the world......

I think games should be religion free zones plain and simple ....a place where people can come together and not be pushed apart.

It isn't the guys fault that his parents gave him that name, Sony not even checking if it's his real name is a big fault. Place yourself in his position, what about in 10 years your name becomes a hatefull word. And you already had your PSN name with your name in it for like a couple years. Wouldn't you be frustrated? Also weird that it took them years before they actually saw that tag. This ain't automatic banning, this is a ban from an actual human that descides what's allowed and what's not. (Also for the people using the "gay" word ammo from MS, that was an automated removal of the word. Not from an actual person. But that was back then it shows that MS is much more open about everything now in terms of names, locations.)

There are also a lot of girls with the name Isis. Names like Isis and Jihad (and symbols like the Swastika) had positive connotations in the past (and still do in many Eastern cultures), before those names became corrupted (in the West) with negative connotations by years of war, politics, media and propaganda... You never know, the same thing could happen to any other names (especially foreign-sounding names) in the future.

So is he using his actual name as a username? If so, it's obvious why that name is not good for a username in multiplayer games. A username should be just that, not your real name anyway when it can be considered offensive in certain parts of the world. Another option would be to legally change his name...I would. Why make your own life more difficult than it needs to be based on your name? Sony offered him to change the name... Just change it!!

But no, he'd rather get all butthurt. I get the whole anti tyrannical moral dilemma thing but if he wants to fight Sony over it and take a stand then he should do so without the public whining, I'm a victim sorry sad jack stuff.

I said this earlier and I'll say it again, he claims his name is Jihad, okay whatever. However, his username is "iJihad", does that really need anymore explanation to remove him? "I Jihad"?

If truly is hes real name banning him was not the correct way to go about it. He should have been contacted and told to remove it to avoid problems.
