haha unlike sony, ms can always afford exclusives to satisfy 360 owners. sony's getting desperatefacebooker
You are aware that he wasn't talking specifically about the PS3? He meant that exclusives are going to get more and more rare across the board, which makes a lot of sense.
Only cows would deny itCow_Killah

Im quite sure that rather than pay for 3rd party exclusives, Sony have beefed up their internal studios.

not desperate, just wanting to put more money into their own studios unlike ms. you lemms are always grasping at straws just face the fact that the ps3 is a better system and will outsell the crapbox. you all need to wake up.

no, this is actually good news for Sony, and they know it. They know that they don't have to pay for exclusives, since exclusives will come to them. They don't have to shell out millions for the best exclusives to come to them, like SOCOM, GOW3, MGS4, and Team Ico project. The 360 is going to break the bank, while the PS3 leaps past it to victory. Fart_Storm
[QUOTE="bamafan1359"]
I am surprised that they would admit that...
Lab392
I'm not. It's actually sort of common sense. Games are becoming more and more expensive to make these days, and most publishers can't afford to miss out on sales without a bit of monentary compensation.
yep, days of the exclusive are numbered. good riddance, if you ask me. of course, then again, we don't get the endless amusement of SW if that's the case.

Or maybe you should stop drinking the Sony Kool-aid. Both systems have their advantages. Just get over it.
As far as multiplats go, I agree with the majority. Given the rising costs of development, its a wonder that any title produced isn't immediately ported to every available platform.

LMAO... Microsoft, break the bank? You would be confused my friend, MS has tons of money to spend, where as Sony doesn't have quite that freedom.

What's to deny? If anything, Sony is least affected by it because they have the most internal developers. Why pay so much for exclusives when you can just make your own?

The thing is, will MS continue to keep spending money to buy exclusives though? Let's say, for example, MS currently spends 50M for an exclusive. With the rising cost of development, MS might have to spend 100M for exclusives later. Paying millions for exclusives takes a toll on any company's bank account. Meanwhile, Sony won't face that problem because they have their 1st and 2nd party exlcusives to keep them apart from MS. In the end, they both will share many multiplats and the only difference is that Sony will probably only be spending a flat rate on their exlcusives while MS might have to spend millions to secure exclusives. If an exclusive flops in sales, then MS just wasted lots of money.

Sony has invested their money internally where as ms is spending it externally, in the end the approach that sony is taking is better because more 3rd parties are going multiplat. stop drinking your own kool aid, and to the other guy that is nut hugging stand your own ground.

Now see, that was a well thought out post and you actually made a good point. Perhaps if you would've stated that in the beginning without the juvenile "crapbox" and "wake up" comment, I would have omitted the Kool-aid comment. The problem is all the fanboys in SW who seem to hold these corporations too close to their hearts come off as deranged parishioners in a fanatical church.

granted, not the most reliable data yet. NPD will have the definitive answer. i believe the 1.42mil is the forecast, the 736,000 is total volume.

agreed, while i prefer the sony system, i think the 360 has been a good system aswell. but this is system wars where logic fails, atleast that is what they tell me.

So true. Don't sweat it, I've been provoked enough before to post some rather fanboyish comments myself. Tis human nature, I reckon.
The article talks about the differences in gaining exclusivity from Publishers, and Developers.
It's basically saying that Big name publishers, such as EA, or Ubisoft, are much less likely to do exclusive games, without the incentive of millions of $'s.
It also goes on to say, that instead, working with independant studios, and helping small teams with devlopment of their titles is what is going to bring in the 3rd party exclusives. Sony has consistently done so, with studios such as Media Molecule, Quantic Dream etc.
The actual fact is, that the future of exclusives lies in in-house devlopment, and the support of independant, small developers. Something that Sony has continued to prove, in comparison to Microsofts almost complete reliance on big name 3rd party publishers, and a very select few in house developement groups.
Anyone who can't see the advantage Sony has gained by focusing on in-house devlopment, is extremely blind.

Nintendo has focused on 1st party games for ages. Heck, people buy their consoles for the 1st party games. Does that mean Nintendo has the biggest advantage of them all?
