I like the three of them.

I have my issues with Sony because of their over-expensive PS3 and never ending arrogance. And with the over annoying Sony fanboys that seem to populate this place. But I still have warm memories of the PS2.

I have my issues with MS because the RRoD. And free online would not bother me.

I have my issues with Nintendo because they didn't release anything first party last holidays >_>

Alrighty lets take a look at this....

And before anyone says anything, i own both a wii AND a ps3, so i am not against sony in anyway.

I work in a gaming department, and i sell both consoles. Sony is a little out of touch with reality here. I sell DS's for children as young as 3 all the way up to senior citizens. It is hard to sell PSP's to people who are deciding between the two...there just are not enough game options. Besides, children buy and play a lot of games. There is nothing wrong with making games for them. Plus, how is that different from the psp being primarily for teen to adult males? That seems like a much smaller demo. Also sony, your biggest competition really is the ipod touch, not the DS. The playing media options are not that new anymore, most people have another device that pretty much does the same stuff...

This is just one big FAIL.

1. Assassin's creed is already out for the DS...so are all the other games except for LBP and motorstorm. Way to research!

2. Significant gamer demographic groups are being ignored...really sony? I would say that children are a pretty big demo group, especially for the handheld games, you pretty much ignored them.

3. more diverse audience of gamers beyond the "kids" market that they've always engaged...Brain age anyone? How about crossword? Both incredibly successful games. Not to mention parents who are buying DS's to play games with their kids. Sounds like great marketing to me.

And to all the people arguing about nintendo's shovelware...a bunch of the ubisoft games like the popular 'Petz' series are coming to the PSP. Those types of cheap games sell well, as much as gamers make fun of them.

Anyone know where I can find the direct source of this quote? All I see from the article in Kotaku is it being quote from Engadget and Wired. Yet both have the same exact quote with no source. So what I want to know is where is this document that Engadget has? From what gather, Engadget got a document from Sony entitled "Statement from Sony PlayStation on PSP and Competitive Landscape" yet I can't find that doucment anywhere. That's bad beyond belief. In the same comment in which they chastise Nintendo for appealing to kids / families they use Hannah Montana to demonstrate PSP support. Isn't that uh... a kids demographic? The DS is enjoyed by freaking everyone. The 100 million in sales (shipped) in just over 4 years prove that. Example: The kid I babysit, a guy gamer friend of mine, a girl gamer friend of mine, a non gamer girl friend of mine, my aunt, my 40 year guy old cousin (non gamer), and I all own DSs. (I know more people than that with a DS I was just pointint out one from all of the demographics)

Speaking of removing backwards compatibilities... Right, moving along.

There are legitimate complaints about UMD discs. It's a propeitary format, discs create load times, and spinning/reading discs eats into the battery life (they also hold ~7x more than DS carts). That the discs break while being removed from their own cases is a ridiculous claim. I could see one breaking from stepping on it, but breaking while removing it from the case? You must break everything you touch.

Hannah montana is one of their aces in the hole? lol as for that the only point that remotely is made well is the whole rockband thing since the DSi kills most guitar hero DS functionality with no abbility to use the guitar hero DS dongle. since there is no gba slot.

1. It does better than the PSP in a boatload of other categories, most importantly games.

2. People do not buy it just because it is a Nintendo system, they buy it because it is a great handheld! And neither me or any of my friends have regretted the purchase.
