TLG does better platforming than any WiiU titles
BB has a better combat system and world than any WiiU games
UC4 has the best third person adventure than anything on the WiiU
Ratchet crushes any colorful cutesy titles on the WiiU and shows em how its done in 2016.
Compelling gameplay is not what's missing on the console. If UC4 is too cinematic then Pokemon is too kiddy.
Good joke. I got a good laugh from this.
I love Team ICO games but yeah, thats a dumb thing to say, especially when TLG isnt even a platformer...

Oh, so what your saying is that, in order for Gears to have good gameplay you have to play it on harder difficulties... thats a flawed argument right there. A game should be good at any difficulty.
No it's not flawed. The way enemies behave varies according to difficulty. Playing Uncharted on Crushing or Explorer/Easy is different. With your logic I could simply say Uncharted is running around shooting guys in the face. That's the way you can play it on the easier difficulties. No need to bother with cover. Enemies can barely hit let alone kill you. On the harder difficulties you actually have to use cover all the time and it becomes a whack-a-mole, what you blamed Gears of War for earlier.
No, it does not suck. It isnt amazing by any means, after all it isnt a stealth game, but its an option. And its there. And its good enough for letting you play in other way other then shooting bad guys, contrary to gears.
And that speaks for itself. The fact that you merely chalk it up as an option is proof it's there just for the sake of being there. It's not intricate, it's not elaborate. It's just there which shouldn't give it any points. Either it's done well or it's not. The stealth in Uncharted/TLOU is NOT done well. It's basic. Also gears is a shooting game. Do you also complain there is no stealth in COD or Battlefield?
The difference is: Gears is a full blown TPS. Uncharted 4 isnt. Its an adventure game with TPS mechanics. Of course it wouldnt use exotic weaponry like in most TPS, it would be stupid. But it has more gameplay variety. Traversal and puzzle solving help break the repetitiveness of the game. In gears all you do is cover, shoot, cover, shoot, cover, shoot. I dont have to say more than the "worth a buy" video already posted here, hasnt said already. Its boring gameplay is clearly evident.
It has more gameplay variety. I freaking hope so. It's an adventure game. Puzzle solving is also a joke in Uncharted games. If you're too stupid you even have an hint button to tell you the answer. That's how ND treats their fans. They know they're for the most part clueless about game mechanics so they have to hold their hand to get them through these laughable brain-teasers you call puzzle. I mean in Uncharted 2 in the temple there was the statue puzzle. All you had to do was open Drake's journal and arrange the statue in the same way as it was drawn in his journal lol. At least Zelda games require some thought process behind their puzzles. Uncharted require none at all.
And for a guy who boasts about knowing gameplay your argument sure is nonsensical. You say Gears of War is a full blown TPS then you complain all you do is shoot. Do you also complain about only fighting in fighting games? I mean that's what the game is for lol.
Again, TPS vs Action adventure. Enemie variety means shit when most act the same. When playing through gears 1 I only remember the Berserk guys being different then the others and even that one was a boss fight, so of course it had to be different. And btw, in U1, U2 and U3 you didnt had "only" human beings. U1 had the cursed, in U2 you had the guardians and in U3 you had the djinn. They behaved very differently then the common humans.
You didn't play Gears of War long enough. You have tickers. Small animals with bombs strapped to their backs. They do suicide attacks. You have wretches, hunchback monstrosity who jump around and specialize in melee attacks. You have Kantus, tall enemies who revive fallen soldiers, have a shitload of health and don't take cover. You have boomers. Brutes with machine guns or grenade launcher with just seek to blow you up. Then more exotic enemies like Brumaks, Bloodmounts, Reavers etc. There are LOTS of enemies in Gears of War all with their specialty and all working in sync.
In Uncharted 1 you only had humans until the last chapter then towards the end the Descendents. In Uncharted 2 you only had humans then towards the end you had the Shambalaa Guardians. They added very little to the game and Descendents in fact made the game worse and the chapter with them is often cited as one of the worst in the games. Still the enemy variety doesn't come close to what is offered in the Gears series.
Nope, its obvious Gears actually has the weakest gameplay mechanics out of these. Call of Duty is also in tournaments, DOOM isnt. Now you gonna tell me CoD has better gameplay than DOOM? Flawed argument is flawed. Tornaments has more to do with branding than actual quality per se.
DOOM has no competitive foothold as of yet. What makes the game amazing are the power ups, enemy variety and level design. All of that is worthless in multiplayer. So yes, single player DOOM is a lot better than COD. Multiplayer COD is a lot better than DOOM. I haven't played DOOM's MP in while but it was pretty rad last I did. Maybe it got better but the game mechanics are much better suited for single player. It's also false tournaments have more to do with branding. Sponsors before backing up anything check the viability and popularity of a game before backing it up. If a game isn't highly played and has no longterm playability, it won't show up in tournaments. I mean SSB Melee is still highly popular to this day. It has nothing to do with its name. The community in Gears is huge and the metagame has been around for over 10 years. It's polished to a very high level and has been highly influential. If you can't recognize that then there's no point in talking. What the community thinks>What you or I think.
Uncharted 4 and TLOU are rad across the board when it comes to gameplay and they do nothing really well. The stealth isn't very good(as you already admitted). The exploration/adventuring is non-existent(I think we'll agree on that). The platforming is poor(I think we'll agree on that too). Puzzles are easy and not well thought out. The gunplay is functional. Gears nails what it tries to accomplish even though it has less variety. Uncharted is supposedly an adventure game but ironically enough, you do very little adventuring. Same for TLOU which is a survival horror but its survival horror mechanics look like they were taken from 1998.
PS4 fanboys can't tell the difference between gameplay and cutscenes.
lol nice
and lems can't tell the difference between 720p and 4k. So what's better...

I'll sum it up for you.
blah blah blah...Uncharted 4 and TLOU do nothing well and have bad gameplay....blah blah blah Gears of War is the greatest game ever made along with anything MS touches or anything affiliated with xbox1!!!
As long as something isn't affiliated with Sony it can be great, if something is associated with Sony or playstation it will always be trash or just bad at the very best.
There you go, his long winded essay in a nutshell.
You didn't really miss anything by not reading it, saved yourself some time not taking in a bunch of fanboy BS.
@Juub1990: Last of Us (addicting SP and MP). Uncharted. Littlebigplanet. Infamous. Motorstorm. Ratchet and Clank. Crash Bandicoot. Spyro. Gran Turismo. Until Dawn.
God of War is too im sure but im not that big of a fan of hack n slash. I've played Killzone and Resistance but only finished R3, not that big of a FPS fan.
Sony needs some more RPGs. how about a Legend of Dragoon reboot?
Bloodborne is rad.
Below that The Last of Us and Ratchet n Clank are enjoyable on the gameplay part. I also think Uncharted 4s shooting and combat encounters are dope; it's the pacing of the game that suck. Way too much mindless climbing, n walking, and doing uninteresting puzzles.
Can't speak about Last Guardian yet; but beyond that I don't trust sonys games to have good gameplay. It's usually pretty lousy with their other studios.
I'm starting to feel like I'm the only one who enjoys the climbing/adventuring portion of Uncharted. That section with the island towards the middle of U4 was amazingly well done.
Jesus, dude. I hope you had fun writting all that cause...
You don't have to. I rebutted all your points anyway. At least you played the original Gears. Unlike that @casharmy who talks out of his ass.
lol I have played the original Gears dumbass I just decided to end my conversation with you. Even the original Gears had worse gameplay than Uncharted 1. it's simple brain dead and unenjoyable..but that's my opinion.
When I played that shit I scratched my head as to how it got such high scores, I guess it must have been that new generation graphics hype effect. You aren't someone who's going to talk me down about "gameplay" lol idiot my favorite games are either mostly gameplay intensive titles that require a high skill level to be proficient at.
You sound like an idiot sitting here trying to talk GEARS OF WAR run of the mil run and gun gameplay up as if it's some kind of skill level entry game or something.
@casharmy: Thought you decided to end the argument with me? It probably stings too much to see how I ripped you to shreds without you defending yourself so you had to come back and keep on using ad hominem with nothing else. It's ok. You lose some you win some.
@silversix_: 83/100 cry more plus 1
Don't know where you fund the 83 but we're on GS and GS is all that matters.
Meh, I wouldn't watch Gears because it's a brain dead game for brain dead bro gamers like you. It's a title that tried hard to be like Uncharted, a series that I am not even much of a fan of, but still failed. What a dumb thing to say but considering the source I am not surprised.
I own Uncharted 4 a game that shit on every MS xbox title this generation critically so there is really no reason I'd watch videos of a game that tired to copy Uncharted4's success and still failed miserably lol silly lem.
I mostly play games that are very rewarding due to have engaging stories, and or have gameplay that require a high degree of proficiency and skill to master along with a high degree of quality like...
An Exclusive game with highly polished gameplay and engaging lore that also happens to be an AAA quality title across the board...something xbox fanboys like you guys have yet to experience on xbone.
This is the reason morons like you aren't qualified to talk about things like "compelling gameplay".
You don't even know what quality games or compelling gameplay is like because your standards are so low due to hyping whatever MS decides to feed you; much less an authority of deciding which games are supposed to play better than another lol like WTF are you guys playing? Halo? Gears? Smh.
It's not like you ever experience quality games because your rabid fanboyim locks you to hyping MS games which is why you guys end up praising shit like Gears of war as a marvel of gameplay.
This...
Will be the next PS4 AAAE and I'd be surprized if either of you 2 clowns talking about gameplay would even be able to make it past the first stage of the demo.
Let's be clear here, Nioh DONKEY SHITS on every game on xbone in terms of compelling gameplay and it's not even close. This will be the next PS4 AAA exclusive that will make you morons who play shit games and don't know what quality gameplay is cry.
You guys can come back when you can at least get one of your hyped titles to score AAA before trying to talk to us PS fans about gameplay when you're settling for the likes of Quantum Break, Dead Rising and yes Gears of War as your *great* selection of titles for this generation LMAO.
@Juub1990: Do you have a PS4? If so, get Nioh for it when it releases. It's a damn solid reason to have a PS4 -- it's better than Bloodborne which is a great game too.
Sold it but I'm planning on getting the Pro. Nioh looks very interesting. Reminds me of Ninja Gaiden and these hack-n-slash games are some of my favorites.
@FastRobby:
I love it when butthurt fanboys try to make it out like their "jaded" opinion hold just as much, if not more water that the professional reviews, especially speaking in terms of general opinion. LOL.
I love it when cows don't understand the topic, or what people are saying. It's like you guys are not only known for being crazy fanboys that hate other people systems, but at the same time you guys are a group of illiterates.
@Vatusus: Lol in your review you said that Gears of War graphics weren't great even for the time. Clearly someone who has no idea what he's talking about. Anyway it seems you played only the original Gears and casharmy played neither. As far as I'm concerned your opinions about Gears of War 4 are practicially worthless.
Not surprised by Sony fanboys though. You guys very seldom know what the world outside of the Playstation has to offer. Also lol @calling inFAMOUS gameplay great. A barren open-world with practicially nothing to do and the city is as bland as it is lifeless. At least the combat is some good fun. You said Ratchet and Clank so your credibility isn't entirely suspect.
"Sony exclusives with compelling gameplay?"
Oxymoron if I ever saw one right there but it even gets better. Sony has no exclusives since launching the Bore Poo so it's all moot now. :P
@FastRobby:
I understand the topic, still doesn't help me to see why I should take your jaded opinion over a professional one.
What do you mean by MY opinion? I added Digital Foundry as a source (professional one) to show that TLG runs like shit on PS4, and runs the way it should on the Poo...
@FastRobby:
When you substitute names like that, it makes me take you much less serious. If the PS4 Pro is poo, then what is the x1s?
The most amazing system ever created, obviously...
@FastRobby:
I understand the topic, still doesn't help me to see why I should take your jaded opinion over a professional one.
The choice is clear and clear to 50 million world wide users of current gen 8 leader SONY.

SONY thanks you for your purchase and propelling them to current gen 8 console leader.
Tearaway elevates psvita gameplay
Little Big Planet has very compelling gameplay (fantastic level design and puzzles), if you can stomach the admittedly floaty controls.
Ratchet and Clank is king of gameplay variety in Sony's arsenal. The level of variety even rivals Nintendo first party. I tip my hat to insomniac for that.
Uncharted has some great gameplay in a jack of all trades kinda way. Sure it's not as tight as gears of war, but the way it combines many things with mobility, animations and fluid hand to hand combat etc, really feels like you're playing an indiana jones movie. No game comes close in that feeling except Tomb Raider.
The last of Us. Very meaty shooting mechanics and intense combat, feels like what a modern Resident Evil 4 would play like. One of the best weapon and gun impacts of all time. Every kill feels so satisfying. Not to mention stealth that rivals some Metal Gear Solid games.
Gravity Rush. Might not be perfect gameplaywise(still has the lazy flaw of every open world game:repetitive fetch quests), but the gravity mechanic is so exhilarating that I dont care. You know a game is good, when simple movement makes you feel good.
Crash Bandicoot: The first true "3D Platformer"
I guess that style was actually superior to the Banjo kazooie and super mario 64 style games, hence Nintendo shifted the focus to pure 2d.platforming in 3d space with its latest mario games since SMG2. In a way, Crash Bandicoot actually influenced the direction of todays platformers.
God of War, welp what else can I say other than best action hack and slash game by western developer. It's hard to be up there with Japanese Devs in that genre, but god of war series holds up pretty well.
Resistence, not Killzone should have been the flagship Sony FPS
Fantastic gameplay and awesome futuristic weapons. I once again tip my hat for Insomniac and the criminally underrated franchise.
Gran Turismo always gets the basic mechanics and handling right. Its just sad that audio doesn't keep up and collision damage, like it does for Forza franchise. You can really see how forza strived to get better with each installment.
Jak and Daxter.. welp didn't really like the series, but I can see why it is beloved. The best Banjo kazooie clone ever made.
MLB The Show
Bloodborne
TLOU multiplayer
inFAMOUS
God Of War
If we are just talking pure gameplay which I assume means ignoring presentation(which is dumb).
Ahhhh-choo!
