Sony Fans around the net are furious at MS success

Here is a post from N4G in response to MS NPD numbers. I found this to be quite telling about the average Sony fans' current mindstate. Hallarious!!! (Guy's name is Helghastdrake):

well I am a Sony fan ... and semi-MS fan.

If MS was supporting the core audience the same way Sony is then I would have no problems with MS. Unfortunately for core gamers MS has switched all focus to casual gamers.

so in short, I kind of feel the same way the poster you quoted does, just not as overzealous.

Who wouldn't be?, it's not good for the industry that MS is able to sell so much by going casual. I'm sure people like the guy 2 posts above me pretend that they don't need exclusives but I'm sure they'd trade games like Kinect Sports and Ryse for Kameo 2 and an RPG or something from Crytek.

Look , as an MS fan I want exclusives as much as the next guy, but you guys are really over selling the importance of exclusives this generation. First of all the 360's library is robust from all the years its been out. 2nd, as much as you hate mutiplats, its not like an xbox owner does not has a several games to choose from every year. Gears, forza, Skyrim, Darksouls, battlefield, MW3, on and on, who the hell cares if its exclusive or not?? If you own a console its a SELECTION of games to choose from. You PS3 fans only sit their counting your exclusives like smegal hunch over in the corner, but never buy the damn games. Stop listing the games and go buy it for a change and maybe your exclusive can actually mean something in the grand scheme. Right now if I was Sony I would dial them back a little cause you guys just use them as cannon fodder but refuse to buy them. If you think sitting around some game forum bragging about a bunch of exclusives that are mediocre scoring 7.5's and 8 's, and barely selling, has any impact at all with the overall health of your fav console think again. Look at whats happening around you. Your console, and all exclusives, are not selling as much as the competition. Wake up

Well, that guy answered it´s own question! Why would i pay extra $50.00 for a console that doesnt offer me any advantage (other than bluray). At least 360 has a bigger library and it´s the safer option for third party games.

Because they look and play miles better of course than on PS3

And 360 does have its own exlusives like Fable, Halo, Alan Wake that i prefer a milion times over Uncharted, Infamous etc

I don't think that's true. Well, I don't know about games from Xbox Live, I mean the disc games where PS3's is bigger.

I think the problem is personality crysis

I was a HUGE PS1-2 fan, i must have played FF7-9-10 at least 4 times each or more

The problem is that PS3 is not i any way PS1-2, they are the exact opposite, they have nothing in JRPGs, while 360 has Lost Odyssey

360 came and got all WRGPs like xbox and all JRPGs like PS1-2 and PS brand became obsolete and only has some random cut scene shooters for the casual market

I think real PS fans have either gone to 360 and the Sony fanboys are new to PS brand and would take anything they are given

Since when PS1-2 were about shooters like Uncharted ?

Non-gaming casuals are buying into Kinect. Simple as that. Most of the leftovers from the Wii demographic are jumping into the Kinect.

What I find Ironic is the fact Lemmings are literally COWERING and HIDING behind Kinect sales, when just a few years ago (2006-2010), along with COWS, both fanboy parties were TOTALLY AGAINST Motion Sensing controls. And at the same time, ridiculing the Wii for the overall Gimmickyness.

Now all of a sudden, Lemmings (not so much Cows with the Move), are literally "jumping in" to the Motion Sensing bandwagon. :lol:

Competition is good and I hope Microsoft and Sony put out even better products/services/exclusives next gen.

well, a fan is short for "fanatic" so it comes to no surprise :S

That said, Sony fans, how obnoxious some of them may seem (no seriously While I love my PS3, I hate how they are the most seemingly insane on SW). They Do have some valid fears in them, seeing how the sony Corp is bleeding money everywhere except SCE).

Truth be told, MS only took 2 gens, to be on par with Sony, and that scares alot of Sonys die hard fans. MS has done a really great job. And denying that is foolish.

I do not think the Sony fans, are fusitous as much as they are scared. It is understandible, everyone loves thier platform of choice, and Sony is not looking too hot curently. I will lieky change if Sony gets thier problems worked out, but here in SW people tend to either be trolls, or borderline psychotic of nature.

This guy made a point on youtube when he laughed off when people said the Wii is casual or kiddy. He said "it has those games, i'm not playing those, I don't know anyone who is".

Just like that, I don't know anyone playing those kinect games and what not, it's such a poor defence mechanism on the part of Sony fans. They get a lot of exclusives so they can throw around the term a lot, but quite a few of those games are kinda average-to-good, to the point no one else cares.

I'm gonna reveal the truth right here to everyone. The true reason the 360 performs so well is this... NO ONE outside here KNOWS OR GIVES A RATS ASS about system wars rules.
