Seriously people need to get a life, hackers are the worst species on this planet.

"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." The fact that they were hacked AGAIN is a clear sign they didn't learn from their last blunder. There's a point where you can blame hackers only so much for the ineptitude of Sony. Make no mistake, these sorts of hackers are malicious and bad but Sony deserves just as much blame for failing to update their security enough.

Sony was not hacked. If you'd read the article you would understand that they were email and password combinations obtained elsewhere and attempted on PSN. That doesn't mean it was hacked. Similar things have happened on Xbox Live and are much more frequent. Get your facts straight

Does Sony have any brute force prevention measures? If not, its still their fault. A proper brute force program can run through the top 1000 passwords in one second. That would easily be able to get 90000 username/password pairs.Temporius
This wasn't on PSN servers,it was on other sites.

These hackers really need to set their sights on bigger targets. Apple, Facebook, Nintendo, Microsoft, Steam...

Not just this, anything that happens in relation to sony. Everyone seems to be under there spell and treats them like the next coming of jesus.

Aaaand you still sound like you're trying to imply they somehow did something wrong in this case. I'm curious what you think that is.

Of course you blame sony, especially now. Apparently they learned NOTHING from the last incident. Didn't they make a new department for overseeing security? Didn't they redouble their efforts to address security concerns? No, apparently not or at least not enough because they just got dumped on.AncientDozer

One thing that's leaving me scratching my head is how the logins were acquired from "other companies". I really don't get what peoples login information for PSN is doing in the hands of companies other than Sony....

Most people use the same login and password info for all the websites they join. It seems rather logical that some of those people using the same info would also be on PSN.

Someone said that people are too quick to forgive Sony. In this case everyone is too quick to attack them. Somebody else gets hacked and the hackers use those id/password combos to try to log into psn and people start crying about a hack? When will this crap end? As has been stated this crap happens frequently on XBL as well. ALso BL has been hacked a few times before and nobody ever brings it up. It's so annoying here some times.

Your login is your email and a password... People use the same passwords. So they hacked email/passwords from somewhere else, and tried them all on PSN. Out of the however many hundreds of thousands they tried, they got 90k matches... Sony noticed they mass activity, and locked those 90k accounts before anything happened. Its pretty clear in the article.

I shouldn't be surprised on how SW only pays attention to headlines and not articles:roll:. It's more sad than funny tbh....
