Not an apples-to-oranges comparison:

Sony has PS4, PS4 Pro and PS5.

Xbox has One, One X, Series S and Series X.

Nintendo only has Switch.

The Switch alone has a 31% share, whereas Sony needs to combine multiple consoles to get a 46% share.

Not to mention this is based on revenue, which is just a single pointless metric that includes third party game sales.

If you determine who is winning the console war based on total console sales, total profit and total first party game sales. Nintendo is declared the winner during the Switch years.

SW has always gone by console sales since the beginning as a part of our meta.

Profits, revenue, and the like are for accountants to deal with, not gamers.

I'm baffled that people are angry and resorting to personal attacks simply because I brought cold, hard facts to the forum, not conjecture.

I never saw anybody personally attack you, but it's obvious to everyone this thread was just started because of the thread where Switch has been dominating Playstation for 3 years, and is outselling every piece of Sony hardware ever created. It just looks like you cherrypicked an old revenue article because you were upset.

Switch is currently the best selling console, and on pace to be the best selling console ever, and Nintendo did it without AAA third parties, which is what the "revenue" in your cherry picked article is referring to.

Your post is completely irrational. PS4 Pro is an upgrade, not the same console. Switch is the same console in a different packaging. The equivalent to the Switch Lite is the PS4 Slim (the PS4 in a different packaging), not the PS4 Pro (an upgrade).

Sony is the market leader only if you combine hardware/software/online revenue for the PS4, PS4P and PS5 combined. Even if you counted the PS4P as the same console as the PS4, you're still comparing two Sony consoles against a single Nintendo console. It's a completely nonsensical comparison that makes no logical sense whatsoever.

The near future isn't 'console market' share but 'cloud market' share. Microsoft is playing to win a monopoly on the future of gaming while Sony is currently playing the way of Blockbuster and Toys 'R Us.

If you want to drag the Switch Lite into it, then you'll have to also bring the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro into it:

• Switch + Lite = 31% (average 15.5% per model)
• PS4 + Slim + Pro + PS5 = 46% (average 11.5% per model)

The average of each Switch model is still higher than the average of each PlayStation model.

I don't care about sales but I do hope Nintendo keeps owning it just for the perpetual meltdowns.
