I don't see anyone "whining" rather then saying how lame Sony sounds saying the stuff they say while being in last place. Of course being in last place probably hurts your feeling as evidenced in your trying accuse someone of whining.

I find it lame that Nintendo is making all this money from huge Wii and DS sales but yet they can't somehow "fund" better game development? WiiMusic, WiiSports, WiiExercise, etc?

The Wii has been out for a long time and where are the epic Nintendo games other than Mario. Where is the new Zelda, where is DK, where is the revival of Kid Icaraus, where is Earthbound Wii, and where is the good 3rd party support?

But even still, what part of either article gives you the impression they were attempting to excuse or "justify" the position they're in? I don't see a single idea of "why" put forth in regards to their position; just they are in this position and things are looking up (for them).

If I play my 360 more, it's simply because all of my friends are on 360s... though to be honest, some of that doesn't make sense... one really likes JRPGs.

Anyhow, I don't really have a preference, console-wise, and I certainly don't hate Sony. If anything, I started as a cow last gen, and gradually became a multi-console guy. Now, I like them all.

I just wish Sony's PR market would shut up every now and then. As would Microsoft's. This thread just happens to be about Sony.

You'd think the failure in the early life of the PS3 would humble Sony; apparently not. If the PS3 was selling like PS2 did, maybe they'd have a reason to be arrogant, but the PS3 is still behind the other consoles in every way.

People are acting like a Microsoft spokesperson wouldn't say the same thing in the exact same situation. PR people say such things. It's their job. Nothing more than that. There's no need to be worked up over what PR people say.

But what i can say for sure is that the ps3 is proving to be much more of a competition to the 360 than it was 2 years back. The sales gap does seem to be closing, and so is the gap in terms of good titles. Give credit where it's due. The only reason why Microsoft is a rather silent for now is because last year wasn't a fantastic year for the 360, and the ps3 is cathing up a little. Nothing much to boast about. When NATAL comes out, Microsoft willstart being noisy again.

How are these Sony's failures? Those companies failed because they made the crappy games, not Sony. If they were really awesome companies, they would have developed better games. Hate to break it to you, but putting the blame on Sony because they offered the companies money for exclusive rights isn't Sony's fault, it's the company who didn't follow through with a good game.

Evedentally it's a crime against humanity to like a PS3 game and prefer a differant platform. Just like it seems like a crime not to treat Sony PR as the Gospal.
