Thanks for the link.  It appears that 360 is declining but not "alot".  PS3 has dropped more in percentage terms than 360.  Oh well, spring and summer are slow times for game systems.

That makes sense when you put it into perspective. I only tend to bash the baised fans, but never on GS. I do that on AIM or IRC. :P

Fair enough, my friend. I just thought that the context of his whole statement was a bit trollish is all. Not just because it was against the PS3 either, but in the overall coloring, and wording of his statements in general. But, you are correct, he never directly bashed an individual. So, if those are the rules....then so be it.

Sony knows that they hav3e been badly beaten and taught a MAJOR lesson. And believe it they will not go this route ever again with PS4. PS4 will be a super cheap system for consumers.

The recent sale of PS3 are ABYSMAL and you all KNOW IT!!!

And why yes the sales will pick up some with a price drop but not nearly enough the DAMAGE has been done. And most consumers have moved on and giving the 360 the nod as there hardcore game system of choice.

Even when PS3 has a price cut the 360 will follow suit and also even be able to go even further as to the 360 has been making about $75 bones per system for a very good while now. So evebn when Sony has a cost cut MS will be in a position to match it and even go a bit further for added sales to counter Sony.

Sony really only has it's hopes based on Blu-Ray now and are praying that that pays off because other wise the PS3 could go down as one of the if not biggest single company profit loosing peice of hardware in HISTORY.

These are just the clear facts guys no way around it it's the TRUTH!!!

statistically, the 360's launch titles are better/roughly equivalent to what the ps3 has after six months. after the 360 had been out for six months, it's library was clearly better.

Maybe so, although I was just relaying to him why I made the trolling accusations, because the fact that his post was biased is clear as day. As it is only from a negative perspective, with no consideration of the postives, even when someone presents them. Just an observation is all, lol.

When the PS2 came out, the $299 price tag was the same as the PS1, sure it was more media oriented (bad) but by the second year this was ignored, and it was simply about gaming. The system won even more fans - it was PS1 backward compatible, it had games with better graphics, the dual-shock was now standard, and the games kept on coming. With games like Grand Theft Auto III, it was dominating.

Now look at the PS3 - right away, the first thing wrong is the price tag - $600. Sony was the system that was about a reasonable price tag - it was supposed to end the era of pricing like we saw on the Saturn, Neo Geo, et cetera - it was entering the market saying "we're a new company, but we're not aiming at the rich niche"

The second obvious flaw is the focus on media functions - the PS1 was a gaming machine, the PS2 was a gaming machine with a DVD player, now the PS3 is a media machine that plays games. Problem? Yes.

The third flaw is the controller evolution - Sony had one of the best controller ever - the Dual-Shock 2, why did they remove the "shock", add in half-arsed motion sensitivity, and something halfway between a 360 trigger and a PS2 L2/R2 button? Ugh...

What Sony has done is take something perfect, and instead of evolving it, they ripped out everything that made it good (affordability, solid controller, large game library, gaming focus), replaced those with things we didn't need, and it is showing in their sales.

What does that mean? You can't be more neutral if you tried. Comparing the first 6 months of 360 v. PS3 is extremely fair. I owned both systems from launch and the 360 has a much better library. This does NOT mean 360 is teh powerful, etc... It is what it is. The rankings here (I know everyone has problem with GS rankings- but this is SW) clearly show the 360 library being stronger than the PS3's for the first 6 months. Regardless of ratings or sales, it is still a matter of opinion, man. Just because you think so, or just because Gamespot says so, it does not make it a FACT that the 360 had better titles in it's first six months than the PS3 did. It only means that you and the people who write for Gamespot think so. Everyone does not agree. And what Gamespot says, is not holy writ, etched in stone. People have opinions you know. Therefore, it is indeed like comparing apples to oranges when looked at from a NEUTRAL stance?

LOL, I am aware of that, but I was speaking for the real world for a moment, instead of a fantasy land where nothing that anyone says is considered valid unless GS says so.

I think PS3 bashing is getting a bit old, I bet half of you hadn't even tried one yet. I know the system has a big price tag, and the game selection is somewhat bare. Eventually more PS3 games will be comming and the PS3 will have a great library just like the other Playstations. The PS3 in a way is a steal with all the stuff it can do. It really is one of the cheapest, price wise.  Its Blu-ray,DVD ripper yes it is my friend downloaded a program off his to make it one,Cd ripper,ipod charger, PS1,PS2,PS3,Dvd,cd,avi runs other OS systems, plus a whole lot more this could be about $2500 system with all of its capabilitiesPeterTimpa

Indeed, but most here want to overlook ANY and ALL positives it seems. They instead have some sort of hateful fixation, and they just keep on beating a dead horse with a slanted verbal axe, without even remotely weighing in on all of the positives that the PS3 has just over the horizon.

It is like they are on some sort of crusade to try to obscure any, and all good news that comes out for the PS3 by posting, and re-posting ad nauseum the same old fanboy drivel. They should WANT the PS3 to succeed, as it means more games, and better games due to the increased competition. Not to mention the great variety of games that THEY might even like, if they could only just stop hating a video game console because it is the one that they do not own, lol.

The PS3 bashing has become nothing more than a trend though for the most part. It is the whole "Hey, let's join the gang, so we will be cool to" mentality, lol. Followers of popular opinion.

I appreciate your earlier response, but I must second Casey here.  If I met you in a coffee shop and we had this discussion, it is another story; however, in GS SW, only GS scores matter.  So call it a fantasy land or whatever it is SW and we must play by the rules.

Yes, the PS3 will prosper when the games start coming out, and it's worth the money, it's super  cheap for what you get (bluray and all the great exclusives), and M$ will have released the XBOX 1800 super elite by then anyway.

I agree that the PS3 is a bargain for the costs, but it's still too expensive and there's no knowing if some games will not be exclusive.

I am aware of the rules, that is why I stated that I was speaking for the real world for a MOMENT. Why be so ridgid, and dogmatic anyway? Isn't reality a better form of criteria to base a discussion on than what some "group" tells you is valid and what is not? Sounds like a communist government or a dictatorship to me, lol. This way, the "game" will always be in their favor because they dictate what is or is not valid on here, no matter how illogical or WRONG it may be in reality. But hey, rules are rules, aye?

Anyway, I dig this forum obviously, as that is why I am here. I try to abide by the rules, and do not attack people, but I am not going to always agree with GS just because they say that only what they say counts in here, lol. Sorry, but I have my own opinions. I am not a blind follower that takes their reviews as if they were the "Gospels according to Gamespot."

Sorry, but I own a 360, as well as a PS3. I am just defending the PS3 because it get's the most flak. Funny, if someone speaks positive about the PS3, they are ignorantly labled a fanboy by another fanboy, lol. SW....the place where fanboys go to call each other fanboys....priceless.:lol:

Yes this is true most of us focus on the negatives. The problem is there is just so many more negatives with the PS3 then there is positives. So it's just far more easy to fall into the negative trend.

And yes to some other psoters they really went bad with the PS3 controller. And it seems developers have really said heck with the motion sensing in the PS3 controller becuase it's just a bad attemp at it.

And to the other poster on here. By no means is the 360 and poor mans system. I own both a PS3 and a 360. And sorry to say the 360 controller is just better. And the games are just better multiplats and game lineups for now that is. But Sony needs to get on the ball FAST and fix this controller foul ups. And get some games out the door FAST.

And back to what i was saying all along. The problem even when Sony starts selling more systems if they ever do. The damage has been done and a bad tatse has already been put in the mouths of gamers. And they have jumped ship to the 360 and or are getting ready to. Rgardless Sony is and will be fighting an up hill battle for the entire life of the PS3 and it will be a nasty up hill battle witch is looking to only letting Sony maybe break even in the end of the PS3 cycle.

And by then they have already and are continueing to WRECK there gaming division and when the dust clears the question is will Sonys gaming division even still be standing 6-7 years from now.

BTW there is currently a consol that hasn't made any profit sinces its release and thats ms crapbox and their H&E division.LMAO

I said on a worldwide scale, not just in America you n00b, learn to freaking read. NPD doesnt count for console sales outside of America, otherwise those figures would be a lot higher for the Wii as well as the other consoles, also considering the fact that the Wii is at 7 million units sold worldwide since launch its pretty much selling 1 million units a month which proves that NPD only accounts for US based sales, not Canada, Europe or the rest of the world.  Your right it is value for everything it contains,  but I just want to play games, and $600 is too much.  plus multi platform games look better on 360 and there is more choice.  If you only want to play harcroe games 360 is a better choice

You would know Sony just reported a HUGE LOSS for there gaming division. After development investment and after the huges losses they are taking on PS3 already in the billions they had suppassed MS or are dam close and projected to go far worse in the red then MS.
