Hey Sony, yeah, what if? Doesn't the PS3 only support 4 people locally?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
The dualshock is the standard controller for PS3, Move is optional. I might be wrong but isn't the WiiU going to be the standard controller?Leave it up to Sony PR department...
Hey Sony...some of the Move games require 2 controllers..what if you have more than 3 people in your family?

Don't worry, nintendo fanboys don't have to worry about making families, most of them live with their parents in their basements /Thread.Ninja_Odin
But Sony doesnt support 6 controllers either. Im not a fanboy and i dont live in a basement with my parents. All gamers are too busy playing games rather than making families.
Whow whow whow, is this true
"One such snippet of information is that the Wii U will not come with multiple Wii U controllers – the sort that have the touch screen in the middle. Additional players in multiplayer games will instead use WiiMotes, andthe main controller will not be available separately."
If so (main controler not avalible seperatly), then bull ******** ***** Nintendo. WTF wrong with you
If i have a family of 6, I guarantee only 2 of them play video games. Atleast basing that off of being raised in a family of 4, i was the only one that gamed. I would be curious to find a real statistic of just how many family's of 6 or more have more than 2 family members playing video games regularlygamer620I was in a family of six; two parents and four children and we all played games but we had to buy two consoles each generation so we didn't have to take turns playing consoles. But now only three of the six play video games.
Since the 4th Generation we always purchased two consoles that gen we had Genesis and SNES; then the gen after that we had a PS1 and N64; the 6th gen we had three consoles a Dreamcast, Playstation 2, and GCN.
Wait wait... Huh?
What does he mean exactly? What is this? You can't play with more than one Ucontroller in front of the tv? Is this true?--maybe I've been living under a rock. One controller per unit? That's the ultimatum?
What the hell kind of design decision is that? What the hell.
The first time I saw the controller I was actually imagining all the possibilities it could offer with local play--there's a lot of stuff developers could do there. Are you serious? Or am I reading this wrong?
I'm sorry but if this is true, I have to question wth is in Nintendo's mind right now. What the hell are they doing? Dimishing the concept of local play? Sound like something Sony would do a gen ago, not now and especially not by Nintendo.

But seriously, wth?
Nintendo is currently trying to fix it so you could play with either two Wii U tablets or use a 3DS if you have one.Wait wait... Huh?

But so far they can only get the system to work with one tablet at a time. But for people to have 5 players at a time they need 4 Wii Remote Plus and 1 Wii U tablet.
 and im sure Nintendo laughed when Sony rushed to put suxasses into their PS3 controller to get at the Wii motion base controls. The companies going back and forth are funny at times. In a wide-ranging interview with GI.biz, House also commented on Nintendo's use of PlayStation 3 footage to showcase in-development Wii U titles.

Actually isn't a family of six just two parents and four kids?Haha...yeah and that number could go up and up. If they had 12 controller inputs, Sony would say 'what if you have a family of 13?'
To be honest, any one who has 6 kids needs to stop treating their vagina like a f***ing clown car.

Nintendo_Ownes7
Yeah that I did get and apparently that will be the case. I mean, I'm not anyone to say what Nintendo should do with the WiiU, they should know what they're doing, but I can't sugarcoat it for them, and I won't. This sounds like a missed opportunity to me.
Sure you can play with other Wiimotes, but I don't know, what is the point of restricting you of playing with more than one WiiUmote per system? And please people--not you Nintendo_Ownes--don't give me any crap about the console's name--WiiU: As solely for you. What the hell kind of thought process is that?
There are people still interested in local play out there, it's far from dead. They went from a console about bringing people together, to have one person playing solo with the WiiU controller--yes I'm whining. But I don't see a good design decision here--at least not one exercised by professionals.
Now if its a hardware problem, or restriction like you're saying, I can kind of understand. But yeah, they better fix it.
He brings a good point. However Just because sony is trying to revive local multiplayer (Now) with uncharted 2 lan and their new same screen 3d tec doesnt mean Ive forgotten the past 3 years of little to no local multiplayer games.
R2, Lbp and modnation are the only exceptions
Yes they do, the PS3 supports up to 7 controllers. But Sony doesnt support 6 controllers either. Im not a fanboy and i dont live in a basement with my parents. All gamers are too busy playing games rather than making families.
Dibdibdobdobo
Yeah I guess I'll have to go on my PS3 and play all Sony's 6 player games. Not-A-StalkerThere are actually quite afew such as Pixeljunk racers, the Fifa games, the NBA 2k games, etc.

Then Sony is the biggest flatterer in the gaming industry. They seriously have no idea of their own...
You mean how they have had cloud service for months on PS+ and how they showed cloud being used on VIta to save a game and continue it on the PS3 ast the E3 presentation the night before Wii-U was even announced? So, who had the idea first?Valve and hundreds of companies on the PC in non-gaming industries....
Sony, The only game you have that's for a Family of Six is a Game called "BUZZ!"......Heck, Actually I think that game is a 4 player only game too.
Don't even.
Besides, Nintendo could always go back on their statement and Sell the Controller individually.
There's certainly an Unfair Advantage to those with the Tablet than those without one.

I think his argument was more on the point that people will have to share the controller, also there are several PS3 games that support 6 players at once mostly sport games, and the PS3 does has support or 6 controllers.Well I have a family of six, but its not exactly like your commercial family sitting around a game system with smiles on their faces.
So...No worries for me I suppose; if I even decide to buy a wii-u that is. Plus, lol, move ain't exactly cheap.
Africa and poor arabic (Think Afghanistan and Iraq, not UAE, Qatar etc..) countries have the largest households... Yeah not so rich.i'd wager a lot of families of six are quite rich
Firebird-5
My whole family game but we don't play the same games. My mom quit gaming when games became 3D with the PS1 and N64 though she still plays Rock Band, my dad mainly plays sports games, Rock Band, and GTA, my older sister doesn't game anymore except Rock Band, my brother only plays Microsoft and Sony systems, my younger sister only plays on my old consoles, and I play any system.Well I have a family of six, but its not exactly like your commercial family sitting around a game system with smiles on their faces.

Nintendo has said their still deciding on whether it will support more than one.ThePlothole
Um, does Sony know that Nintendo did not confirm the "one tablet only" thing yet? They said they are researching this.nintendoboy16Why is Nintendo even considering it? :? They should add support for at least one extra U controller. Wasn't the purpose of the screen on the controller to enhance local mp? If the other users are going to have to use Wiimotes then they're going to end up with a huge disadvantage going against the person with the U controller. This really doesn't make any sense. It seems like Nintendo is trying way too hard to be abstract with this console.
Hey Sony, who who was that console maker that decided to only put two controller ports on their system when rival systems were packing four?ThePlothole
They did have multitap though.
You mean how they have had cloud service for months on PS+ and how they showed cloud being used on VIta to save a game and continue it on the PS3 ast the E3 presentation the night before Wii-U was even announced? So, who had the idea first?

What does Cloud even have to do with this topic? Regardless STEAM Cloud has been around since 2008 man.
In that case Nintendo should feel extremely flattered since both Sony and Microsoft mimic their motion control. false. the playstation eye damn it :'( nobody remembers........[QUOTE="Ross_the_Boss6"]

Sony's reps never pass up the chance to take cheap stabs at the competition. So tasteless and desperate.
Also, those of us who don't really play well with others and prefer single-player gameplay take no issue with this one-controller deal.
In addition, you can either take turns playing single-player games (on your own), deal with using the Wii remotes, or play online co-op or multiplayer.
Sony use to be classy. Now they spend their time bashing nintendo and 360. I remember a few months ago of the sony ceo's made a comment about how no respectable 20 year old would buy a 3ds. When they starting bashing their competition it makes them look desperate because they know they are falling behind. this comment about the family of six is ridiculous. i mean how many people are a family of 6 nowadays anyway? and chances are even you are a family of six not everyone is going to be playing it or at least at the same time.Sony's reps never pass up the chance to take cheap stabs at the competition. So tasteless and desperate.

Nintendo already admitted the WiiU was a mistake one year before it's release, who's feeling insecure again? loltypical sony  trashtalking the competition when feeling insecure
