AND it won't cost you the same price as a PS3 and a 360 put together. :PIt is like an iPad, you take it where ever you go and it doesn't fit in your pocket but it is smaller, has better games and isn't used for business. I want one! :D

Putting your handheld gaming console in your pocket is overrated anyway. I'd put it somewhere a bit more safer, like my rucksack.
Well, I normally wear cargo pants, so it would fit in my pockets. Hell i can hold 3 360 game cases in my pockets at the same time.
Worked for the iPad. :P

Exactly this.
Mobile devices don't have to fit in our pockets anymore. The iPad showed us this.
We want functionality that is still portable. As long as it is still mobile and easily carried in a backpack or some sort of bag it's fine.
What the hell? The NGP is a portable game system. Portable game systems do not need to fit in your pocket nor make phone calls. I guess this is Sony so people will bash it left and right for every stupid thing they can think of.

I am not 100% sure of what the NGP does but wondering does it do all the things a ipad can do? If it can not then I do not understand the comparison.[QUOTE="funsohng"]If past is any indication, it will fly off the shelf like second coming.dzimm
Well, considering the PSP didn't exactly fly off the shelves at any point during its life...
In case you haven't noticed, my pic doesn't have anything to do with the first PSP....[QUOTE="finalfantasy94"]
[QUOTE="DarkLink77"] The difference being that it's a Nintendo handheld, and the majority of it's best games will be games made by Nintendo that are designed to be played on a handheld. On the flip side, the best PSP games would have been better on a console.SakusEnvoy
You make no sense and sound extremely bias.
Thank you.Nintendo has announced an impressive list of titles for the 3DS - Ocarina of Time, Mario Kart, Paper Mario, Star Fox, Super Mario (N64/Galaxy style), etc. but they are all clearly "console-style games".
And they'll still be great, regardless of the fact that they could've been done on Cafe or wherever (without the 3D, though), but yes both companies are making console-like games on their portable systems. That's just a fact.
The difference is, is that Nintendo has always done ports on handhelds since the GB Color days.
BUT, they done them when the NES, SNES, N64, & GC are no longer available on the market (such as what they're doing right now with the 3DS bringing out games from N64), & makes things a lot better for them, while Sony brings out ports from PS2 & PS3 on both the PSP & the NGP in which both the PS2 & the PS3 are still out on the market.
What the hell. big deal. I can still carry it, put it in a backpack or something, or just in my hands. Doesn't matter much to me.

It has a touchscreen & stuff so hacker could probably make it better than the iPad sooner or later :P[QUOTE="Wanderer5"]Well, I don't really know but the PSP was hard to fit in the pockets too...Huh how big is it compare to the PSP?:?
charizard1605
Considering the PSP screen was 4.3 inches and the NGP screen is 5 inches, its pretty much in tablet territory
About it not being able to make phone calls, that's not really a need... to me it isn't anyways. About it not being able to fit in your pocket, I think maybe after a year or so they'll change the size of it like they did with all the other psps. I wouldn't sayit being too big to fit in your pocket and not able to make phone callswould make it "inferior".
That was a low blow, Sky :cry:Well, maybe you will be playing it so much that you would never want to put it in your pocket! Did you ever think of that, Charizard? And maybe, it will have enough battery life to support extended levels of gaming time, unlike a certain other rival handheld that I won't mention! ; D

What? I thought the NGP/PSV/whatever was roughly the same size as the 3000, which fits in my pocket perfectly :?tekken220As someone who can fit a video tape in his pocket, it probably can fit in a pocket. Poorly but surely.
It's not a cell phone. It doesn't need to make phone calls. Also, just because it's portable doesn't mean it needs to fit in your pocket. Some people like big screens on their portables (like me). Sounds nice!
 Don't they want this to sell?khoofia_pikaThey want people who want that stuff to buy Xperia Play...
Last time I checked isn't that why they made the Xperia to make Phone Calls and to fit your pocket?
That statement makes no sense at all lol but most likely they will come out with a slim version in a couple years. And another thing I notice when watching those Sonyblog vid for Uncharted Golden Abyss that the NGP was big.

In the news recently: I hear cell phones cause cancer. They say to have your cell phones at least 1 inch away from your body at all times. I don't know how many centimeters are in an inch for the European peoples, so I can't help you out on that one. Cancer. Cell phones. 1 inch Ahhhhhh! So that's good for the NGP right? That they don't cause cancer. :PLOXO71 inch is 2.54 Centimeters.
I had to look it up.

portable [ˈpɔːtəbəl] adj
able to be carried or moved easily, esp by hand.
Nope the NGP is perfectly "portable".

It's too big to fit inside your pocket. I wouldn't call that "easily portable".It could fit in one of my pockets but it would be a tight fit to close it because the pocket when open is 8" the NGP is 7.17" so if I put it in the pocket of the shorts I'm currently wearing I should barely be able to close that pocket. Please Log In to post.
