Hey....I got braggin rights on that statement buddy. I called it nearly a year ago...
Hell no!I said that first. Your'e ranked higher than me so all I can say is that you might have posted that statement here first, but anyone who has been reading any of my posts know I've been predicting a possible no PS4 from jump...
So why do people keep saying that "Kuturagi was an engineer who didn't think about efficiency and affordability"? :| That dosen't make any sense.HeedleGlavin
Well the idea of CELL being brought in seems like his style, since the previous two systems also contained technical hardware. But Blu-Ray just seemed so 'out-of-the-blue' (so to speak) it had tobe an idea from Sony's media department. Makes me wonder why he isn't a game developer since he may be theonly one who really understands the hardware.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Krazy Ken's quotes were the most entertaining!Â

[QUOTE="BrutonNYC"]Ok so according to Lemming's logic, I guess when bill gates retires it must mean Microsoft is doomed?! Man, im just still wondering how companies such as GE, Ford, GM are still alive I mean afterall, the founders of those companies are no longer with us  gotta love fanboy ignoranceEltrozBill Gates was not leaving a failing company more like retiring from a company with over 5 times the market value of Sony. Crazy ken is leaving the gaming part of Sony that is in a huge lose as far as money goes. Exactly. Why didnt Ken retire at the height of Playstation when it was selling over 200 million in 10 years? But yet hes retiring now when the PS3 is selling 10,000 a week in Japan and is getting outsold by the Wii 7-1 in its home country.

you both know my level is higher than both of yours right? i'm at level 24 @ 98%. i've been a member since 2003.
At least we won't have our brains melted by any more of his idiotic quotes. Some of his greatest hits:
PS3 is "for consumers to think to themselves 'I will work more hours to buy one'. We want people to feel that they want it, irrespective of anything else."
"The PS3 will instill discipline in our children and adults alike. Everyone will know discipline."
"Microsoft is trailing behind us, but they are not a threat. They are good at improving [on products], but we will be advancing to the next level with revolutionary technology."
"The PS3 is not a game machine "
He wasn't lying about that last one though
I think we can all agree this is the final indicator the ps3 is a failure.
Oh, ken...you GAVE ms the win.... wth...
Oh well time to move on. Maybe someone else will step in and actually push things in the proper direction.dbzfreak
well Kaz Hirai is suppose to be taking his place. there has been talk since november of moving to software rather than hardware. link

An exodus from the hardware side of gaming would be the smartest thing they could do.
This is kind of strange to say the least though, for those not familiar with how working in japan works; in japan you will basically never get fired once you are hired, whether you make good or bad decisions, if you do make mistakes you are given a meaningless job, such as janitorial work for example, but you will not be fired. It's also standard for an individual to never quit on his own, once you are part of a company, you are part of that company permanentally, whether it succeeds or fails, you stick with it, in fact, if you apply for a job in japan and there are alot of previous jobs on your record, that will be looked as a bad thing, it'll be seen as your inability to stick to a single team, and as a severe lack of loyalty, so you likely won't get a job if you quit because your company is on decline.
Kutaragi retiring is strange to say the least.Â

Well... that would be funny, I remember all the cows calling how Nintendo should go the Sega's route....Â
I hope he gets hired by MS :osecretsaiyan007
that would be hilarious...
c'mon Kenny... Washington's fine... :D
 this is sooo true, ya another embarrsing loss for sony, the P$3 is kinda like the Paris Hilton of gaming one embarrisment to the next:lol:If this is true:
The Playstation has killed it's father...
The first of many casualties of the ps3.
i can't wait to hear how the cows twist this to be good news.
Face it; when this happens, when HE is responsible for everything from the architecture, business model, and strategy of the ps3, only a completely insane person would say this is a good sign for sony and the ps3.
and for those who don't think this was forced have no idea how executive leadership works.
sorry, but he deserves it, imo.

For people bringing arguments about the PS and PS2, he kind of lucked into those consoles succeeding. Nintendo was foolish at that time and practically gave away their market dominance. The PS2 was successful not because it was a great console, but because it had almost all the 3rd party support. Sony and Ken forgot about that and became too cocky for their own good. I hope the same doesn't happen to Nintendo, but it's quite possible that they will if they win this gen. If that happens, they're going down too.Zhengi
nintendo has had it's shares of screw-ups. they actually did chase away third party devs because of the high cost of their proprietary format. because of that, they handed the win to sony.
let's look carefully.
high priced propriety fomat: .........................cartridge (nintendo) ...........blu-ray(sony)
loss of third party support: ...........................due to high dev cost assciated mostly to costly proprietry formats that can only be bought by the first party. (can only buy catridge from nintendo, can only buy blu-ray from sony.)
intentionally hands the win
to the competition: nintendo(hands win to sony) sony(hands win to microsoft)

seems like deja vu to me.

look at points 1,2, and 3.
However, I don't have time to talk about it now. I have class.http://news.cnet.com/8301-10784_3-9712823-7.html?part=rss&subj=news&tag=2547-1_3-0-5peralta775

Even the captain is abandoning ship.... This is a bad Omen, and I hope I did not waste $600+....Â
Calm down people... who said this means PS failure???
Maybe he just wants to do something else, a new direction. He's been doing this for so long ya know, sometimes people change and all. Â
kcpp2b
lol
You can't fathom the idea of him being forced off??!!?? Why would he quit all of a sudden after putting so much hope n effort into PlayStation 3?
Â
The ps3 is in bad shape and it is about to get worst in the fall when MS span Sony with Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Lost Oddyssy, blue dragon and etc...Â
I feel sorry for all the ps3 owners. They got ripped off. The ps3 is a good value but the ps3 is suppose to be a gaming machine and not a movie player.
Sony will cry and probably drop out of the race sooner than expected.Â
Uh it's a company shuffle.
"I resign this position, and get another position which is practically the same."
Kutaragi already stopped being SCE's president long ago.Â

[QUOTE="ChiChiMonKilla"]Wow ken is moving to another part of the company ??SER69
No, he's moving out.
he is still working for sony, i love how lems spin this cus just to inform you he was demoted a while back and this is a big embarassment to be demoted like that especially in japan, so now he is getting away from the serious playstation stuff and letting someone else right his wrongs. he will be behind the scenes still and is probably working on ps4 processor as we speak. it was dump to even have an engineer run a company, so know he will go do what he is best at, engineering. This means nothing.Silvereignright, the most important person behind the ps resigning means nothing
If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen, especially if you're one who started the fire.
Run Kutaragi Run!
