[QUOTE="KirbyFan10101"]That would make more sense if the 360 was actually outselling the ps3 on a worldwide basis every month.[QUOTE="Nike_Air"][QUOTE="Ninja-Vox"]Wow a guy from Sony is talking trash on the competitor which beats them out in sales every month? Shocked! :oNike_Air
Which it is.
Actaully it isn't. Some people just blindly look at the NPD numbers for NA and call it a day without looking at the worldwide total numbers.World Wide numbers are impossible to ascertain. NPD gives us America, Media Crate for Japan, and then what? I'm not aware of any all encompassing tracking of Europe.
The difference between NA and Japan is huge, as the PS3 is doing poorly in both whereas the X360 is doing poorly in Japan alone. You can't simply assume european sales are bridging this gap.

Actually for all intensive purposes HD DVD is dead. For it to survive MS would need to start making it a standard on their 360's. And they're not going to. And he is right. Maybe a lot of people don't like it and like xbox, but it's true. They've already been making different consoles since the origional 360's release. apparenly Paramount and Dreamworks think differently...
not to mention the EU has over 70% penetration by HD DVD while HD DVD players continue to outsell bluray players in NA.
don't give me the, "BLOORAY MOVIES ARE SELLING MORE", b.s... since they are counting the free bundled movies wiht the ps3 as sales and stats have less than half of ps3 even aware of the bloooray player in the ps3...;)
if ms made it standard, they'd be in last place...
great thinking sony...
The only thing Paramount THINK - is that 150 Million is a good deal.
yes. since bluray isn't making them any money... or many of their studios for that matter..;)

Posts like this are realliy helping this place. Get over it, you tried to use an old Sony execs comments to trash the 360. You shouldn't have tried to start something if you weren't prepared for the truth and not some PR spin.
No no no, I was just thinking aloud. What REALLY makes me think Gamespot is dying...
- It all started when they rigged Maddens graphical comparison in late 2006 between the 360/PS3 - forever killing their neutrality and thus - the value of every review they post. And lets face it, their reviews were already suspect.
- Banning PS3 users left and right (Duh, Playstation community outnumbers the Xbox community 5-1)
- Xbots flocking to the site for the above reason.
Its simple, if you forcefully embrace the smallest gaming community (Xbox community), and alienate the biggest (Playstation, 125 Million) - your site dies. Oh, and when places like Gametrailers offer things you charge for for free - and at a higher quality, that also doesn't help.
Gamespot is dying.
If the Playstation fanbase is 125 million, how come only 5 million people have bought the PS3?
coz the main reason to own a ps3 is hd. and a small% of those 125 million ppl dont own a hdtv yet. same goes for 360. i think boh ms and sony jumped the gun...47 days and 6 hours old. I think he feels different now. Bye bye Paramount.Peter Dille:

Wrong, I own a Wii. Everybody hates Sony except brainwashed cows.
No, everybody does not hate Sony except brainwashed cows. The people that hate sony are the Lems and Sheep who are too ignorant to embrace the future and move forward, and would rather waste their money on last gen junk that is either a fad with flops, or a RRODbox with more flops, most of which are on PC anyway.
I'm sorry; was that post intended to DISprove that you aren't a brainwashed cow? :?
If people REALLY think Paramount went HD DVD exclusive because HD DVD is winning, they are sadly mistaken.
They only went to HD DVD becase they were paid 150 million + dollars. And even then, it for 18 months. After that, they can do whatever the hell they want.
It just shows how desperate the HD DVD is gang is getting so that HD DVD isnt completley swamped by Blu Ray sales

i wish it would die today. i own a ps3. and owning 2 next gen movie players is stupid when they offer the same thing. The HD DVD format is doomed but it will kick a couple of times before it dies , Perhaps 2 years ?

if the hd dvd guys wanted to win or even have a chance. they woulda paid ms to put a hddvd player in every 360. instead of paying dreamworks 150 million to make movies just for them for 12 months

Why does it always come back to the price? It couldn't be because there are no to few compelling games to get people to buy it. o rly?
i owned wii, 360, great PC and PS3. i had to sell the ps3 because i couldn't justify keeping it, all of my gaming was done on other consoles. the only time i turned on the ps3 in the past 3 months before selling it was to check out the heavenly sword demo, lol.
nice try though.

A perfectexample of the overuse of the word "owned". How has anyone been owned by this? It's simply one desperate man trying to bash an opposing company with absolutly no facts, proof, or statistics behind ANY o fit. Go ahead...read it again if you wish...he didn't support anything he said with any reasonable information to support any of it. In only one short paragraph, he made a seemingly blind prediction OF THE NEXT TEN YEARS, and predicted the demise of a possible Bluray rival that just recently signed an exclusive contract with Paramount. If anything, I believe you've been owned for buying into this and expecting an unbiased opinion out of a man who would have absolutly no gain from giving his unbiased opinion. What he said was the equivalent to me, a xbox360 owner, saying that the PS3 won't last 10 years and that bluray will end in a few months. OMG Now have you been owned? What a joke, and if you are buying into what one company is saying about another than I think you are a joke as well.
Second...doesn't it seem to anyone like Sony is REALLY trying to push this "10 year product" thing while nobody else seems to care? If that is the ps3's main selling point this gen than that is pretty sad. When i buy a console I don't really want a 10 year commitment...I'd much rather have a commitment to compete NOW as opposed to later. Maybe that's just me...but if I spend hundreds of dollars on a console I want to be able to do more with it than search the internet for lousy company quotes to post on friggin system wars to justify my purchase. They should be delivering now...but instead they are settling for inferior multiplatform games and a completly lackluster 1st year. None of this justifies $600.
Third:..are they seriously bashing MS for not being consistant with there product? Has any gaming console EVER discontinued 2 sku's as fast as Sony has? That sure doesn't seem very consistant to me...but leave it to his "unbiased opinion" to selectively omit that. They have given absolutly no assurance of confidence to anyone, while MS shows their confidence by keeping original SKU's while trying to reach a broader audience with more advanced sku's. The 360 reaches casual and hardcore gamers while the near future garentees that the only PS3 sku available will be 80 gigs...far more than any casual needs.
Believe what you wish....but if it is based on quotes like this than I believe it is you who has been "owned".
[QUOTE="Zenkuso"]games in hd>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.ps3/360 games on sd tvs bud.The main reason to own a PS3 is HD? LMFAO!
WHAT ABOUT GAMES! ITS A FREAKIN GAMING CONSOLE!
munsoned
The gap isn't that big mate, its only suttle changes to detail not a OMFG wow factor change  Nice try though, the general public unlike us don't give two stuffs about HD, half them don't even know what it is and blu-ray is far worse off in the general public knowledge then HD feature in TVs.
The general public see consoles as gaming machines, nothing more, extra features are nice but 70-90% of the people that buy them will never use them for anything other then gaming.
Sony spins its console as a worthwhile invest that will in the future reap benefits, but to pay 600-1000$ for a console thats literally not worth that kind of money right now to many people is just stupid.
Xbox 360 isn't sustainable? Right but atleast its getting played like the Wii, they both know what they are unlike the ps3 which is turning to push a new media format from its own company, sell HD-TVs from its own company and at the same time sell its console.
Sony has tried a trifector effect with its console and its flopped and will continue to flop until they cut the price, bring games to it and realize that its view as a gaming console and not a multimedia suite.
Wow a guy from Sony is talking trash on the competitor which beats them out in sales every month? Shocked! :oNinja-Vox

Well considering they are fixing the problems in the system they wont be refurbishing any of the consoles within a few years once all the inital ones are fixed. Besides I dont want to wait till 2015 for a new Console, just give me a new console in 5-6 years with full backwards compatablitiy and still support the console and Im good.
who the hell wants a 10 year product... this guy is a damn moron. Sony and there 10 year products... while xbox fans paid less money and can roll that towards a next gen system in 5-7 years that will obviously leave the aging ps3 in the dust graphically... and then what?Bdking5710 year product doesn't mean that they won't release another system before that.

based on the current success of the PS3 - yes, yes it does.
Sony is in no position to develop and release another console, not until they finally figure out why the hell people aren't buying the PS3.

PS2 is over 7 years old and still growing strong because even though Sony has released the next playstation they're still supporting theire old console. I can see the PS2 having a 10 year lifecycle...especially because of the Wii.
How long was Xbox's life cycle? 4 years..and then bam stopped manufacturing them, no more xbox projects, only 3rd party sports games. Pretty much killed the console when the 360 was released
