I had great time with teh PC version of GeoW and i cant w8 for GeoW2. Ill wait a little longer thna X360 owners but what the hell. Was a great game. But i hope for better ending and more awesome bosses this time.

Yeah dude, i agree. Let me put it this way. After the release of the first one everyone wanted to know if cliff was going to make a next one. He didnt answer yes or no. So he could of been playing everybody and holding out untill later. But just 2 years of dev? That just seems to short for me my man. I just expect to see a delay or very very short game. Majora's Mask for the N64 was just 2 years dev time, and it's my joint favourite game of all time along with OOT. Gears 2 is basically running off the same engine just like MM was from OOT, so I have faith. Plus if you look at the graphical increase, the new modes, weapons, and so forth I think it will definitely impress. And yes, graphically there has been a noticeable increase and it does look better than MGS4. I'm not saying it will be a better game though.

Well Gears of War 1 is one of the best looking games out now, so its not surprising that Gears of War 2 doesn't look that much better. Gears 2 is still the console graphics king though.bungie93

we don't get the biggest thrill from great graphics .. it's from the gameplay, the level design, the story etc

Also, at least in Gears the Characters don't talk to us, like they know we are on the other side of the TV holding a hunk of plastic in our hands. And at least the dialogue isn't all cheezed up, with a side of cheeze in Gears.... MGS has ridiculous dialogue and voice acting... it's all just screams Cheezy B movie, which is fine, when thats what you are trying to do.... alas, this isn't the case with MGS.

You can tell MGS trys to come off as SUPER COOL & Intense.... and ends up sounding weak and lame.

lol... the game looks superb

however i can see theres a trend in the graphics. It seems every developer is using the same math equation for resolution and lightning, so yeah guys, these sort of graphics are kinda generic now. Look at Killzone 2, MGS4, LBP, Resistance 2. They all look the same :/ (some not as good but i hope u get my point)

They aren't really comparable. They have two different art-styles. When I look at MGS4, it looks sort of plastic-like (in a good way), while Gears looks more realistic.

wow i dont know how anyone can say that MGSIV is better even with the different art styles. Gears 2 and to a lesser extent 1 is superior on a technical level in almost every way it has incredible textures and lighting and while it looks similar to gears 1 there is a huge difference i played gears recently and it looks so bland in comparison. the lighting is better the details on the characters, the colours, the scale of the environments etc. Either the TC is delusional or he hasnt played gears 1.

What do you expect? Gears 2 to take place on a tropical island? A dersert, maybe? Gears 2 takes place right after the first one; of course it's going to have the same ruined buildings, etc.

There are lot of techincal differences between the two. Why can't you cows use your uncanny nitpicking abilities to see that? Or does that only work with multiplats?

The new video isn't grey and fuzzy like the original. Everything is bathed in amber light. The character model is much more detailed. The blood effects are a lot better. The animations are more fluid. The fire looks fantastic. The draw distance is bigger, and just the level itself is so much larger and more detailed.

What? The hype train on MGS4's graphics needs to stop. It looks good but is by nowhere the best out there. Not saying GeOW2 is the best. Just think that MGS4's graphics are being overstated.

Having seen the HD footage from the MS E3 08 conference, no, it does not look like the first Gears. The differences aren't astronomical but Gears 2 looks much better than the first one. It's smoother, the framerate looks to be a tad higher, the scale of the battles is a lot bigger, the graphical effects are better and it supports many more enemies onscreen.

It's not a huge leap technically but it's enough for someone to really notice the changes done in the engine.

What? A higher distance, heaps for enemies on screen, more detail, better lighting and a higher framerate=the same as the original? The E3 footage looked incredible. Cows were like this with the first Gears of War as well. Even though the first ever footage looked great at the time, we still got:

"Teh jaggiez of war"

"teh framerate of war"

"teh boring gameplay"

What happened then? The graphics were miles better in the final release, the framerate was almost consistant 100% of the time, and it turned out to be one of the best games o the year.

MGS4 is outright corny. It's acceptabe the first time, but face-palmingly bad the second time around. It takes itself WAY too seriously. Also, I'd like someone to make sene of this for me:

The only good bits of MGS4 were the first two acts. The rest were average. Act 4 was only enjoyable for its nostalgic value. Act 3 was the worst excuse of a stealth level in the history of everything. Hell, the TomTom sections of Blinx 2 were better. I'm really not sure about MGS4's graphics either. One minute it looks amazing, the next it looks like Conflict Denied Ops. It also had some major framerate issues during the major battle scenes.

2 years of development just screams Rainbow Six Vegas 2 to me....I'm still buying it, I'm just expecting the same game as the original with new multiplayer levels.
