Why is it that hermits believe that they are somehow elitests'? That they look down upon consoles and in many threads say "It doesn't matter PC is still the best. Let me give some facts that prove that the PC isn't dominating consoles in any way. Actually its the other way around. Lets compare the PC vs the 360 in the last 12 months.

You know what I also love when in the PC reviews of games they clearly say the PC version better than the consoles counter part. YOu know whats even funnier. When a multiplat game on PC scores lower than the console version and all the console fanboys says look at the score. Yet in the review of the PC version they will clearly say the PC version is better. That doesnt get old either.

Higher standards are true. Since you have like an entire decade of games you need to compare modern games to the past games. There's a reason why console ports usually don't sell well on PC. Because to PC gamers, they're nothing new.

GameRankings gets flamed but it really is the only unbiased source for general opinion on games.

On topic: Technically the PC platform CAN be the best, but the Dev's often don't much effort into it, thats why it really only has two major dev's, Blizzard and Valve.

Consoles on the other hand get bigger games, advertisement, cultural influence, etc. simply becuase the compition and poteintial for profit is so much higher on them.

Also if PC Gmaing died, consoles would not be affecting at all for the above factual statement.

And finally, yes, console games are made on computers, but if the PC Platform mattered or was even counted as a Gaming platform, we would see PC versions of every game ever made.

Im sure i will hear many hermits claim that the "standards are higher on PC and how many games that are on PC would score much higher if they were on consoles. Sorry hermits thats completely false. If that is the case then why do games that appear on the 360 and PC that are basically identical in content recieve the same score?

examples

Bioshock PC(95%) Xbox 360 (95%) so much for higher standards lol

The Orange Box PC(96%) Xbox 360 (96%) why do they score identical? because they are the same game and are identical on both consoles except someone with a sweet pc can get slightly better graphics.

The PC is a great gaming platform but it IS NOT as dominant as it used to be.

Hermits need to realize that the PC isn't dominant over consoles.

Why is it that Microsoft and Sony themselves reference gamerankings and metacritic. Many video game developers give bonuses to employees if a game scores high on gamerankings or metacritic. I doubt any developer would say "Alright guys if our game gets a good score on gamespot you get bonuses". Sorry nope efic fail for you

I can imagine you haveing a real life conversation with someone on whether to get a gaming PC or a xbox 360.

I agree- I think it's ridiculous that arguments are limited to Gamespot simply because this is a Gamespot forum. You really need to look at the industry average. How many people judge a movie on a single review?

Why is it that hermits believe that they are somehow elitests'? That they look down upon consoles and in many threads say "It doesn't matter PC is still the best. Let me give some facts that prove that the PC isn't dominating consoles in any way. Actually its the other way around. Lets compare the PC vs the 360 in the last 12 months.

Are you seriously saying that the 360 has more quality than PC games?

HAHAHAHA that's so false. The PC has games that the 360 can only dream of getting. There's a reason people play decade old PC games. And that's because they're so much better on have more quality than modern games. Counterstrike, Bf2, Starcraft are all prime examples.

And no. 360 does not have more games than PC. That's so false I won't even comment on it.

For FallOut 3 and Far Cry 2, hermits will just cry about them being water-down console games just like Oblivion/Bioshock despite these games breaking new grounds and being completely awesome.

Consoles do lack MMO's and RTS's but those are the only genres PC excels at and hasn't had them taken away by consoles.

The vast majority of genres are better on console,or at least with a gamepad, not the old KB/M.

PC has so much potential however, but the money is not there to be made.

FarCry2 lead platform is PC. The PC version has been in development for a lot longer than the consoles thus thats why its the lead platform. Fallout 3 looks terrible. Sorry theres nothing there that would make me buy it.

Why can't hermits debate thefacts i laid out. I do agree that the PC used to dominate consoles but in the last 19 months it is a fact that it has had less quality games than the 360. gink101
