i dont know what the controller has anything to do with FPS lol...it has the same amount of buttons as a 360 controller just the analog sticks are next to each other and the D-pad is at the top o.o and killzone 2 is eye candy :)

So i obviously 'grew up' with the controls :P

I have no problem with it but I see why some people do. The other day I came face to face with someone who couldnt hit an elephant standing 2 ft from him. It was funny in a sad way.

i agree ps3 should have more variety in games and more of them but the fps for the ps3 is the best. resistance2 have 64 players more players equals more fun and killzone2 have the best graphics best graphics equals best fps game

Never played H3, played the first Halo back in my xbox days. Loved it, but I traded it all in for a PS3 and now im playing KZ2.

It really doesnt matter whether its 360 or PS3. Get one and you play halo, get the other and you plat KZ2. Both are great in their own right

So resistance 2, Killzone 2, The Agent, and MAG aren't enough for you? BTW I LOVE the ps3 controller

I liked KZ2. I love the AI and the overall gritty tone. The last level is way to hard though, very much in-your-face. Ugh, I hated every second of Radec. The courtyard before that was awesome though, flamethrowers and rockets all over the place. I felt so good when the last helghan died in front of the door.

I just downloaded the W@W co-op demo and think its sweet. If Sony ever releases the game as a download ill be tempted. I wish KZ2 had co-op. Would really raise the fun factor

The controller is fine for FPS games, but the problem isn't about that. Sony's 1-parties are just making a tad bit too much FPS's. Maybe by next after MAG is out that'll all change. For FPS's Sony should just let GG and Zipper take care of that, and have all it's other studios make other games.

I found Killzone 2 and Resistance (haven't played 2 online yet) had a ton more British people because the games are more popular in Britain (as well as the PS3). Not that it's a bad thing though.

R2 was a bad Halo knockoff. I liked the first, but R2 really tried to be a Halo.bronxxbombers

yeah i really noticed that too. I didnt like the change to 2 weapons at once, i liked having like an entire arsenal of guns on you at all times, and they brightened up the graphics to make it like all colorful just like halo, and the BR gun and the list goes on. It would have been great if the maps didnt all suck horribly.

The DS3 is fine for shooters and KZ2 is one of my favorite FPS this gen. I sure as hell enjoy it more then COD4. Also just putting it out there KZ2 and Halo are different enough. KZ2 is more grounded while Halo is more arcady. Room for both I say.

The whole point is that it was a stepping stone for console gaming. Hell, Halo was arguably the best FPS period for its time, on any platform. Gamespot thought so atleast.SparkyProtocol

Then they should of said it was ground breaking for consoles. Without adding that bit at the end it kind of means ground breaking as a whole.

I totally agree with TC on this one... Sony practically abandoned their existing fanbase in an attempt to appeal to XBOXers an Haloids with the PS3. So here we have a fat ugly overpriced george forman's gril with spiderman text on it and a bunch exclusive shooter titles that arent selling too great. The PS3 was a dumb decision.

Sony wasn't big on FPSs for the previous 2 gens, but now they have amazing FPSs. Why do games have to be "ground breaking" in order for them to be acknowledged? so going by your logic, Microsoft just wasnt meant for fighters. The controller for it is horrible and none of their fighting games were ground breaking.

Resistance 1 online imo was pure awesome. Resistance 2 just doesnt match up but the co op online is brilliant.

Killzone 2 is great, one of the best simgle player campaigns this gen. The death animations and how the enemies screamed when shot made the game incredibly immersive and the control scheme was so great and different. And online its not bad either.

Resistance 2 needs a lot of work but sony is doing well. MAG looks to be great and the killzone devs are getting on with their next game.

DS3 and FPS go hand in hand to me, I can never seem to get used to that xbox controller, Why on earth would any put one analog stick higher on the game pad than the other, thats just flat out annoying. DS3 everything is symmetrical on it. I never got the whole Cramped fingers argument either, DS3 just feels perfect.

Any console that uses dual analogs was not meant for FPSs. I'd rather play XBox FPSs on the PC with keyboard-and-mouse.

And the Wii's point-and-shoot FPS controls seem to be the best direction so far for FPS controls to take since they're the most natural to real gun shooting. Project Natal and the PSWand are aiming to give us these kind of point-and-shoot controls in their future FPSs (and quite possibly adding that functionality to their current FPS).

I still think The Conduit has the most realistic FPS controls. It's harder to do headshots with the Wiimote than on a keyboard-and-mouse setup, but the "shaky gun" is part of the natural challenge of performing a well-earned headshot, and therefore more realistic.
