1. Eric cartman is anti Semitic, racist and homophobic.

2. Mr slave is not a good role model for gays.

3. Lemmiwinks is offensive to gerbils.

4. Token seems to be an African American afterthought stuck in to appease a demographic.

5. No chapter on the dangers of periods.

Game is unlocked on Steam now, I played a solid 30 minutes of it just to have it started before I go to be (5.30am here now) and I'm already in love with it.

I guess I'll use this as a hype thread. VERY early first impressions from the PC version:

-Character creation is somewhat simplistic, but there are a lot of hairstyle and facial detail options. You can only make a male character at the start.

-Outside of combat, traveling the world feels like Paper Mario. Left click to punch, right click to fart. You can punch and fart on any NPC.

-You can sprint (LShift).

-You can save and pause anywhere, at any time, and you have infinite saves! Based Obsidian.

-When you load a save, the classic South Park banjo strum plays, like when an episode begins. Everything feels exactly like the show.

Nothing about Carolyn's review was dumb. She gave it a fucking 9.0 despite everything you idiot. She had legitimate complaints.

The people at Giant Bomb totally do stick up for minorities in games. Just look at the content of a few of Patrick Klepek's articles. The crew often talk about how dumb and sexist some shit is. SJW trend? Give me a fucking break. There are so many damn idiots of Gamespot. This place is pretty much just a milder version of /v/.

Why? Because you want a bunch of misogynist, bigoted, assholes to find any fucking fault in the review and start leaving the most hateful shit in the comments section?

@seanmcloughlin: A friend of mine has been playing it to review the last 3 days and he is at 29 hours right now (;

There is a good deal of side quests I hear, so unless you rush through it should be pretty lengthy. I have heard 12 hours if you do the campaign only but well have to see. So far I am an hour and 15 minutes in and feel like I havn't touched much. I also remember people saying fallout new vegas was 13 hours long and I ended up spending tons mroe hours on that do to the side missions. I think being a south park fan will definatly help but I have a few friends who are enjoying it and are not South Park fans. Besides being light on pc settings, I can't find much bad things to say about it, havn't run into any bugs yet and I havn't laughed this hard in a game ever lol.

I could see these sites being over South Park's brand of humor, but I doubt it becomes a major talking point for the review where it's just one bitch session on how crude South park can be.

It's South Park. Anyone getting the game has an idea of what South Park is, and South Park itself is an institution. They missed the moment to criticize south park for their brand of humor by at least a decade.

It's Obsidian so you knew at the least the RPG elements were on their worst day going to be good

And it's South Park writers so you knew the satire would have been pretty effective.

Not saying it was a recipe for excellence(tech problems were a major worry), but it certainly never gave the impression it was going to be a bad game for anyone that still digs south park

I'm not buying the game so I don't really care to be honest. I reckon a 7-8 outta 10.

@jg4xchamp: its just that the south park games, and most licensed games, have not always had the greatest reputation. Plus there were some troubles when THQ went bankrupt. But looking at the animation and gameplay it seems they did really want this to exceed and play out like an episode of south park

From what I played the game feels like you're enacting a South Park episode. Throw in Paper Mario RPG elements and you have an amazing game.

The gameplay seems almost exactly like Paper Mario, and the positive reviews seem to claim there's some depth and length to the game. So opinion is fairly divided on this one.

I think it got a fair score, still going to get the game next week.

Seems to be between 11 and 14 hours. Though the depth is really shallow.

Pretty much a lackluster RPG, but that's not really what it's about. Effectively it's just something to mindlessly get through (in terms of gameplay), but a way of having an interactive episode of South Park.

Good score all round really. I find it funny how people are being super defensive of the game though, saying "who was expecting a South Park game to be an in depth RPG?" Umm nobody? But if this was a simplistic beat em up or a simplistic platformer like a lot of movie/TV games are then people wouldn't be expecting top marks all round so why should an RPG be different?

Due to the length it looks like a rental at best.

After going to bed at 5:15 this morning and getting up at 6:30 and almost being late for work I can say I'm enjoying the crap out of the game. Haven't read the GS review yet (about to now) but I can understand why some people like it more than others.

We shot footage of that game, and I was watching Phil play it. It looks like some pretty legit videogame satire.
