[QUOTE="Bladefighter23"]Anyone that has read the Halo books know that the Covenant can destroy a planet with one shot from the ships, so I don't see how anyone can stand up to that(except for Master Chief) :D.t2wave
So since one super human can do it, a bunch of freaked out aliens can't?

Yep. :D

Oh the Space Pirates would destroy them. Think about it would you rather run into an elite or a space pirate in a dark alley? I think it would be pretty obvious.

He can't actualy. The only reason the covies haven't glassed earth is because of the arc. If the covies wanted to glass earth or any planet, not even 100 chiefs could do anything about it.

Of coarse. But Space Pirates, as far as we can tell, don't reside on just one planet in any large numbers (for a planet). They go around improving their own race however they can.

The Covenant hands down, even though their ground forces would dominante the space pirtates, they wouldn't need to, they would sit back in ships and glass the pirates.

Also, I think alot of the people who voted pirates haven't read the Halo books, they don't know the power of the have. But since their is so much anti Haloness on these boards, people will not listen to reason.

You can talk about glassing all you want, but it's not like the Pirates haveresidentplanetsliketheCovenant. In fact, the Covenant are far more vulnerable from space to ground assault because they do have a homeworld. The Pirates only establish bases on planets, not cities or societies.

The thing about the Space Pirates is that they've been able to reverse-engineer partsof Samus's suit (the attempts at a morph ball rather hilarious),have cloaking technology, use genetic engineering, in addition to a bunch of other technologies at their disposial. Any troop to troop combat the Space Pirates would win in equal numbers, even if slightly outnumbered the Space Pirates would most likely win. Problem is that Space Pirates were never made out to be a rather numerous organization. Their forces are divided scattered and seem to work in minimal numbers. It seems the Space Pirates tend to take more of a hit and run approach to their operations since they have the Galatic Federation to deal with. (which means the Space Pirates are not the most powerful organization in the Metriod universe)

What would get the Space Pirates in the end is simply being outnumbered.

This is actually somewhat interesting. Maybe they should make a co-op game featuring MC and Samus vs Covenant and Space Pirates, who have also teamed up. It would be called Masmus because it combines Master and Samus and a lot of people would play both its offline and online modes and it would become the most popular game in a few weeks and nobody would play any other games because it was really a lot more fun than all the other games that people could play so there would be like no point in playing the other games because Masmus would be the best game.

Like the Covies couldn't stop them? You know, the Covies do the same thing, They have boarding parties, they raid ships. Not to mention the Covie tech is supremely supieror, and thier numbers are incredibly vast. Its like putting the Zerg numbers with the Protoss tech.

Covenant tech pales in comparison to Pirate technology, which has the ability to duplicate enemy weapons, create its own energy sources, and modify its own soldiers.

Doesn't the arc just activate the Halos causing all sentient life (including covies) to die?

We arent talking about Earth...We are talking about the covies who got 100s upon 100s of space cruiser that can navigate through slipspace, directly above planets and turn it into glass in a matter of minutes and then leaving in a blink of the eye...

I definitely remember getting in a long, drawn out debate on this. I voted Covenant, and here's why.

Space Pirate tech is superior, on the whole, to what the Covenant have. However, the Space Pirates have much smaller numbers, and they're lacking in the area that's one of the Covenant's greatest strengths: their fleet.

Covenant ships destroy planets. They turn them to glass, destroying all life. They invade and conquer worlds. Although the Space Pirate ground forces are strong (especially if you give them some of the tech they pick up in Prime, which they may or may not have retained for a significant amount of time), they just can't stand up to their air forces. That means that wherever they make a base, wherever they camp, as soon as they are found, they will be anihillated.

Covenant win the war of attrition.

Only with the fact that Covies have more numbers. A space pirate could take on 5 grunts, 2 hunters, and an elite without dieing. Master chief can and he only has bullets.

The thing about the Pirates is we really don't know their numbers as a whole. We know they don't usually go in fleets so that leaves that out. They do have cloning though so their true numbers still remain unknown.

The Covenant has but one option to win. Stay the hell in space and bombard every planet until the Pirates are destroyed. Should this fight get to the ground The Covenant simply gets massacred.

  • Pirate Troopers
  • Elite Pirates
  • Phazon Elites
  • Omega Pirate
  • Pirate Commando
  • Pirate Grenadier
  • Aqua Pirate
  • Pirate Aerotrooper
  • Shadow Pirate
  • Beam Trooper
  • Ninja Pirate
  • Kraid
  • Ridley
  • Thardus
  • Metroids

The Covenant better stay in their ships or else they're finished. The versatility and technology of the space pirates isn't going to be beaten by Covenant ground troops.

THe covenant fleet could completely overwhelm the pirates, besides although not showcased in the games the covenant is very very very large, I mean it spans several races over an entire galaxy.

I would imagine that the Covenant are far more organized.

I haven't read any of the books but after what the Elites and Brutes went through how much organization can you have?

The Covenant has but one option to win. Stay the hell in space and bombard every planet until the Pirates are destroyed. Should this fight get to the ground The Covenant simply gets massacred.

  • Pirate Troopers
  • Elite Pirates
  • Phazon Elites
  • Omega Pirate
  • Pirate Commando
  • Pirate Grenadier
  • Aqua Pirate
  • Pirate Aerotrooper
  • Shadow Pirate
  • Beam Trooper
  • Ninja Pirate
  • Kraid
  • Ridley
  • Thardus

The Covenant better stay in their ships or else they're finished. The versatility and technology of the space pirates isn't going to be beaten by Covenant ground troops.supermechakirby

how much of this stuff are you taking from the Prime series?

sorry but Prime is not cannon in the metroid universe to me

Oh no, mecha thinks prime is a bad game, how dare you include enemies like the awesome omega pirate while he thinks it's not a good game :O

Good thing this argument is not based on what you think of the Prime series, then :|.

The Prime Series is canon not cannon lol. And yeah It doesn't matter what you think because it is canon and it is there.
