ubisoft delayed it to make a ton of gameplay changes..what you see the trailers may not be what you see in the final version of the game.
doesnt matter to me..they can take as long as they want.

Yes.
No, that is incorrect. It's been in development since the last one came out, which was Double Agent.

I really appreciate their approach on this game. I've loved the Splinter Cell series since the beginning, and I am glad they want to do something fresh, even if it takes them an exceedingly long time to do so.

Wrong, the makers of this game made Chaos Theory. A different team made double agent.

Me too. I know not all liked Assassins Creed but I thought that was an awesome game and if they make it as good as that (meaning exploration and such) then I'm sold too. I also liked the Splinter Cell series..
this footage is over a year old, but ya anyway, i cant wait for the next splinter cell, im glad they went back to the drawing board i hope they make it more like chaos theory, that game was amazing.Gameplay

DA was released in 06 but they usually have two teams working on two different games, so, I'm not sure.**sees "splinter cell > mgs4" in title. lolz. walks away.Rafinator
Sees that you can't read. Lolz. fanboys.
Didn't know it was old, saw it posted on the front page of another forum and thought it was new.
Sorry:oops:
I can't wait for this game. I never liked Splinter Cell until Pandora Tomorrow, and then Chaos Theory just added to it.

not before posting though.
not got high hopes for this game despite loving chaos theory and pandora tommorrow. ubisoft games of late seem to always promise a lot but end up disappointing (assassins creed, far cry 2, r6lv2, double agent etc).

i just see ubisoft butchering the stealth in this one just like in assassin's creed.
aren't they "reinventing" sam fisher for the second time?
and please, story-wise stopping some lame-O terrorists is nothing compared to the tale told in the MGS games
i don't know why ppl compare the two, i think SP is more of a tedious stealth game, knockout a few lights, meet a few objectives than out with the terrorists!
MGS has always hit the right spot for me, i love MGO, and sam fisher will never be 0.00000000001% of the great lead character solid snake is.
Raiden would take Fisher out in a second
Fisher has never fought anything like Pyscho Mantis, or the Boss.
hell, sunny and otacon could take fisher down with the mk. II
ok, thats pushing it but that little droid has got some skills
so no, and isn't this on the PC too?
i don't understand how a ubisoft game will honeslty be exclusive to the 360 for the long run
i mean, assassins creed, end war, ghost recon 2, rainbow six, all on ps3 too
and i don't believe this BS that it can't run on PS3. maybe in 2010 i believe it if this game doesn't come out after the next xbox the way its looking right now

Alright, SC story may not be as inventive or creative or even as complex as MGS4's story, but that doesn't mean it's bad. The stories to the SC series have been really intelligently written. Despite Sam Fishers lame and corny name, his character is a compelling and slightly dark.

Oh...that is a good point. But didn't they do the PS2/Xbox version of Double Agent?Members of the same studio did that game. I do not know if they split development or they all worked on it but yes. And to those who have only played the 360 version of Doible agent, you NEED to play the last gen version. It is a separate game with more open levels and is literally CT with the DA concept.
I know these are old but it pisses me off everytime I see footage of the game. Ubisoft, I'm going to give you a hint. The thing that made the games great was the stealth, not sam being emo after his daughter died, not sam being a hobo. Stop fing with the series and make another game like chaos theory. /rant
EDIT- The only sc game that can even be said in the same breath as msg4 is chaos theory, and its not as good.
these are very old and chances are the gameplay one be exactly the same since ubisoft delayed it to make changes.lawlessxMajor changes probably, I remember when they were saying Christmas 07, then Fall 08, then announced it was back to the drawing board :o
Yeah... that's the point. MGS' story is patently ridiculous. It's like they shattered my suspension of disbelief, lit the shards on fire, and then pissed out the flames. I don't think there's such a thing as an idea to insane for Kojima to try to shoehorn into a game. He's the George Lucas of game development (and I mean the new Lucas, not the old Lucas).and please, story-wise stopping some lame-O terrorists is nothing compared to the tale told in the MGS games

MGS4 had much better gameplay than its predecessors, thanks to finally adopting a reasonable 3rd-person-shooting mechanic - I thank Ryan Payton's "Westernization" for that - but the story is so far-fetched that it's actually distracting.

The reason he has the homeless look is because... gee I don't know... he's a wanted man. Remember DA? How can he recover from that? How can he go back to being a regular agent? It wouldn;t make sense unless it was a prequel. And even then, we wouldn't want to end the series there.

So Shanghai did it all? And is Spy Vs. Spy mode great b/c if it is then I'll like me some Chaos Theory 2.0. lolPlease Log In to post.
