splinter cell on ps3, looks like it's running on n64, and 360 looks like highend

PC, Foreal, splinter cell without a doubt, is the biggest graphical differences between 360 and ps3.

everything on ps3 is downgraded lighting, textures,shaders..... sony engineers helped port the game, and still downgraded, because ps3 is less powerful.

Te graphical difference is bigger between the 2 than any multiplatform game to date.

imagine rainbow six vega's on ps3, ubisoft said ps3 version had to be downgraded because of less memory.

splinter cell is only modified unreal engine 2.5

rainbow six uses unreal engine 3.0

rb6 on ps3 is gonna be TRASH LMFAO!

Sure, it's because of the Playstation 3s hardware. Not Ubisoft's quality abilities to port games for the integrity of creating great games on all platforms. Haven't you seen Far Cry on the Wii?

What dont you understand, ubisoft did not lazy port splinter cell, because sony engineers helped them , so not a lazy/sloppy port, sony helped to get max out of ps3, ps3 simply didnt have memory avalible or powerful gpu to handle graphics 360 had.

it's ps3's hardware's fault not ubisoft, ps3 couldnt handle the game.

both consoles are about equal in strength and alot of devs have said that the cpu in the ps3 is much better than the 360s.you have no proof to back up what you say your just a sad fanboy with no life.

No X360 is not more powerful than the PS3, it's just that Ubisoft half-asses there games on PS3.

A SLIGHTLY more powerful GPU, and a MUCH less powerful CPU, developers figure out that cell, and there'll be no need for graphic comparisons between X360 and PS3 because it'll be obvious.

That statement is wrong, it's only Ubisoft that's struggling to make games proper on the PS3. How come Bethesda made Oblivion so well on the PS3 and Ubisoft can't make there games equal to or better than the earlier released 360 ones?

Shack: Can you offer any insight into how much of that was made possible by the PS3 hardware versus simply the additional development time?

Pete Hines: It was entirely due to extra development time. It's not like the PS3 can do this and the others can't, it's actually something we were considering doing for the other platforms as well. We specifically did it here because we had some time and one of our graphics programmers said he could do it. Things like that are in the PS3 version, but everything else is just things that make the game load faster and run faster, so it runs as well if not better than the PC or 360 version. That was our goal all along. We felt like we were going to take however long it took until the PS3 version looked and played as well as it could.

What dont you understand, ubisoft did not lazy port splinter cell, because sony engineers helped them , so not a lazy/sloppy port, sony helped to get max out of ps3, ps3 simply didnt have memory avalible or powerful gpu to handle graphics 360 had.

That's a simple quote from one person. Sony's engineers could have helped that rag-tag team through e-mail or conference calls. Not to mention this is coming from Ubisoft. Who said that Red Steel would also take advantage of the Wii. Which it did. :roll:

Pete Hines: The main thing that we've done in terms of something that you'd actually notice is that we did a special shader. On the Xbox 360 version of the game--and the PC, but it's more noticeable on 360 because PC is more scalable--there's a thing where the lower-res textures designed to be seen at a great distance appear closer to the player and they're a little blurry and muddy and you notice that. You go from this point where it's really high-res and then it goes to really low-res. It has to do with the LOD and how high-res the textures are. So what we did is write a shader package that blends the high-res one with the low-res one, so there's no point while playing on the PS3 that you'll notice that effect anymore. It will look natural. It's not really something that's noticeable unless you've played the other versions; it's designed not to be noticeable, but to look realistic

Shack: Can you offer any insight into how much of that was made possible by the PS3 hardware versus simply the additional development time?

Pete Hines: It was entirely due to extra development time. It's not like the PS3 can do this and the others can't, it's actually something we were considering doing for the other platforms as well. We specifically did it here because we had some time and one of our graphics programmers said he could do it. Things like that are in the PS3 version, but everything else is just things that make the game load faster and run faster, so it runs as well if not better than the PC or 360 version. That was our goal all along. We felt like we were going to take however long it took until the PS3 version looked and played as well as it could.

xbox 360 can do over 500 million.

but according to you the ps3 cant even keep up with the 360 and yet it clearly does. if the ps3 was such a bad piece of hardware then im sure oblivian would look aweful and not even comparable to the 360 version. 1 yaer or not they were able to make the game look better and in order for them to do that they needed capable hardware.

the ps3 version of oblivion is actually worse, lower framerate, lower resolution textures no anti aliasing, only improvements, loads times, and character model textures, the world textures are downgraded, and even shaders.

 


not according to most every major review site, i sugest that you go read igns review its very informative.

review sites didnt compare both, and oblivion on 360 looks better sorry

 

um ign clearly stated that the ps3 version had better graphics,further draw distance and shorter load times. well that certainly sounds like the better version if you ask me.

PC, Foreal, splinter cell without a doubt, is the biggest graphical differences between 360 and ps3.

everything on ps3 is downgraded lighting, textures,shaders..... sony engineers helped port the game, and still downgraded, because ps3 is less powerful.

Te graphical difference is bigger between the 2 than any multiplatform game to date.

imagine rainbow six vega's on ps3, ubisoft said ps3 version had to be downgraded because of less memory.

splinter cell is only modified unreal engine 2.5

rainbow six uses unreal engine 3.0

rb6 on ps3 is gonna be TRASH LMFAO!

Actually 1080p on xbox360 looks better because it has x2 anti aliasing.

ps3 version has jaggies, plus a tennis game is less graphically demanding as splinter cell.

the only thing that looked better on ps3 was the crowds were not all same cloths, while on 360 people had same cloths.

fnr3, vt3, oblivian(as already stated) you had enough? all these games look better on the ps3.

The reason why ps3 dont dev on ps3 first then port to 360 ,because it holds their games back, on 360 they have much more memory and create what they want and on ps3, they just downgrade stuff lol,

No X360 is not more powerful than the PS3, it's just that Ubisoft half-asses there games on PS3.

A SLIGHTLY more powerful GPU, and a MUCH less powerful CPU, developers figure out that cell, and there'll be no need for graphic comparisons between X360 and PS3 because it'll be obvious.

That statement is wrong, it's only Ubisoft that's struggling to make games proper on the PS3. How come Bethesda made Oblivion so well on the PS3 and Ubisoft can't?

Yeah, a year more dev time and it turned out better than the 360 oblivion, which makes sense. But what about games in the future, I'm pretty sure in a couple years multi-platform games are going to be better on PS3, simply because of the fact that the knowing how to use the cell, can get you far.

cell has no advantage, because ps3 can only produce 250 million polygons/second

xbox 360 can do over 500 million.

ps3 will never match xbox360 graphics developer after developer has said it.

splinter cell is only modified unreal engine 2.5
