Square Enix engine shows what PS4 can do

Seems like the PS4 will be able to do some amazing visuals. GDDR5 will give Sony a great edge in showcasing graphics like these. Do you guys think 720 can keep up with DDR3 technology? Pics are inside the link. 

If it's true that Sony is using 4 GB's of GDDR5 for Orbis (at least 3.5 GB's of RAM for games), & if Microsoft is using 8 GB's of DDR3 RAM for Durango, then most of the games on Orbis will definitely blow away most of the games on Durango graphically, especially in 1st/2nd party exclusives of Sony's & when 3rd party developers get used to the tech in Orbis, & also given the fact that Microsoft isn't exactly going to use all 8 GB's of RAM for games.

the engine's running on a GTX 680, i7-3770K 3.5GHz and using 1.8GB of Ram.  M$'s wasting money on putting 8GB of ram on the 720 instead of a better CPU or GPU.  

The Cell's still more powerful than that i7 BTW. Now cry moard herms.    :cool:

Of course it's a feature, fog has been in games since we've had 3D graphics. Good fog is absolutely critical for conveying distance and sense of scale. Without it it's difficult to perceive distances, and things can end up looking like a miniature or a matte painting. Just look at any picture of a vista:

Hopefully they add a few extra effects to it. But I have to admit,  it looks natural.

8gb>4gb lol ps3's xdr has more bandwidth than 360s gddr3 and it still fails.

LOL. Just because that they may have "more RAM" means diddly squat, especially when it's very slow RAM & is very inferior to GDDR5.

Also, like I said before, Microsoft isn't going to use all that RAM towards games.
