The PS3's top-spec performance has earned it the love of Square Enix developer, Tetsuya Nomura, who gave Sony's shiny box some serious props in a recent interview with Dengeki Playstation Magazine.
The enthusiastic level designer gushed: "It's not just about how pretty the graphics are but more of how much limited [we think he means unlimited] amount of movement we can put in one go and how big our imagination and ideas are."
Dodgy translations courtesy of qj.net.He goes on to enthuse (clearly, this time): "The PS3 is the machine that is closest to being able to express our imagination."
He later reveals how Square Enix is aiming to give the Final Fantasy series a change of gameplay with the thirteenth game in the long-running RPG series. "The action elements will be high in the game but instead of defeating the enemies from an audience's view, I want to give people the taste of actually being part of that world. The assignment here is whether we can build an FF with the suspense and thrill of Third-Person-Shooting or not. In that sense, the game will be a slightly different type of FF."
Exciting stuff for PS3 and FF fans.
