They own Edios right? They were going into he crapper... so really you should be thanking Square Enix for buying them and allowing them to live.

I'm fairly sure this new Deus Ex will just be the same as IW, only with better graphics.
Fact is consoles dumb down games. the console audience like more action orientated stuff. They don't like heavy text based games at all. And the controller gives a lot of limitations in terms of user interface. lack of lean and prone in many games is down to the devs wanting to streamline the controls of the game. And the same for many other game mechanics/gadgets can mostly all be blamed on the joypad not having enough buttons like a pc.
Lack of rectangle sway on weapon. Is also a console thing as it's more difficult to aim with a analogue stick. In DE1 the weapons could not aim properly until you leveled up. I doubt this will be seen in DE3. This was removed in ME2 also with the sniper sway.
I'm not expecting much. But if the story is good then at least that's something I guess.
.....Square had nothing to do with Arkham Asylum.[QUOTE="travisstaggs"][QUOTE="Senor_Kami"]They'll screw it up as much as they screwed up Arkham Asylum and as much as Capcom screwed up Bionic Commando ReArmed...JLF1
They published it.
But they had no say in the development and they only published it in Japan and maybe one other area I think, in the US Eidos and Warner Bros. published it. Like in Japan for example Square published Modern Warfare 2 but of course did not make the game in any actual way.But they had no say in the development and they only published it in Japan and maybe one other area I think, in the US Eidos and Warner Bros. published it. No they published it worldwide.
They bought all of Eidos 6 months before the game launched. The brand of Eidos might be on the box but that brand belongs to S-E.
I do agree with the you that that didn't change anything about the game, I mean, why would they? There is a reason why they bought Eidos and that was because they wanted in on the western games design development and I think they are smart enough to let it stay the way it is.
Yeah, I mean...they even published Supreme Commander and Order of War, two pure PC RTSes, pretty much as far from japanese games as you can get and I sure didn't see any influence there. And both of those were done all through SquareEnix directly, without any Eidos involvment. So if they were left untouched I see no reason why DX3 would be affected by SquareNo they published it worldwide.

Invisible War is far from crap..........while the gameplay was a step back from the original, the narrative is actually better than the first game. Better pacing, more emotional involvment, more relevant to issues of today, better characters. If anythng IW is underrated.Anything would be better than the load of crap called Invisible Wars.

Only in certain regions. In the US, for example, WB published it.They'll screw it up as much as they screwed up Arkham Asylum and as much as Capcom screwed up Bionic Commando ReArmed...Senor_Kami
You should read this as:
They'll screw it up as much as they screwed up a game that is rated 90+ on metacritic, got AAA on almost every major gaming site and was a strong contender for Game of the Year. Obviously a game with that much critical praise hasn't been screwed up by anyone. You should take this as a sign for how much Square is looking to impact games that they don't do anything but publish.
I thought people would catch the sarcasm but apparently I give the internet too much credit...*

[QUOTE="Birdy09"]Yea... this game actually might have some life in its charcters now.... oh wait.... WRPG fans only like lifeless husks.texasgoldrushWRPGS > JRPGs.... In fact, maybe Deus Ex will teach SquareEnix how to make a real RPG. Yup, coz real RPGs are about conversations and choices right? ugh.... no thanks.
Yea I doubt you play WRPGs lol. A simple solution is to check my xfire before making an assumption, it makes your post less pointless ;o[QUOTE="Birdy09"]Yea... this game actually might have some life in its charcters now.... oh wait.... WRPG fans only like lifeless husks.jasonharris48
We should make a name for the current trend of JRPG haters on here most of you havent even played one. Why do poeple have to always hate on things they dont understand!
I hope Deus flops just to spite some people to be honest its really pathetic how TC and others go ape over Square Enix getting in on the job. Square make great games get a clue. On a side note they probably wont directly effect the game to much anyhow i should imagine they will leave it mainly upto the Devs remember this is an RPG/FPS i should imagine. Japan is not a fan of FPS games.
Doesn't change the fact I'm right though :D Not you, the TC :P[QUOTE="siLVURcross"]I think you're overreacting.AdrianWerner
As long as the game isn't plagued with girly men, and other Square Enix traits, I think I'll be fine with it. Oh, and I hope that it doesn't have the traits of IW either...
Deus Ex died a long time ago. I have little faith that it will ever be able to return to the epic nature of the first one.
If I see JC Denton riding a chocobo while saving the world with a group of teens, I will hurl! :PAs long as the game isn't plagued with girly men, and other Square Enix traits, I think I'll be fine with it. Oh, and I hope that it doesn't have the traits of IW either...

Hello Xenophobia.
I don't see how the fact that a japanese dev has never created anything as open structured as Deus Ex so the TC is afraid that having a japanese company providing the capital to get this game made, they have the ability to effect the game anyway they see fit as having a fear of foreigners.[QUOTE="smokeydabear076"]If I see JC Denton riding a chocobo while saving the world with a group of teens, I will hurl! :PI must admit, that would be hilarious. :lol:As long as the game isn't plagued with girly men, and other Square Enix traits, I think I'll be fine with it. Horrible company that should have NOTHING to do with the game. Hope they didn't mess anything up.

they are publishing it because they own Eidos who are the old publishers..they wont interfere as they arent the actual developer all i see is a paranoid android talkin about stuff they dont know about.
the EA= sucks mantra only ever worked on consoles, on PC they always were pretty good :)If we all went by that logic, then games like Battlefield 2 should suck because it has an EA label on it :P.

I guess to you they are mundane because they don´t try to act emotional(and the only emotion they usually achieve from the gamer is embarrasement) every 5 seconds and cry like babies all the time while spouting the cheesiest dialogue lines ever. :P

I think they like characters who's spiky hair and eye liner does all the talking. All flash, and no substance. Oh and don't forget that guy with the big sword and the trench coat, he's soooo cool! Also, I like it how the idea of someone responding to your words in WRPGs is somehow foreign... like when you're having a conversation with someone you should just sit there and stare at them and not say anything. So you like stories and eventful characters that read like Twiglight fanfics? ;)

Your right, i suppose Miranda losing her childhood friend would be an emotional time, yet all thye could musta was alittle angry face, a cheesey macho "youl pay for that" and attack... and then you speak to her afterwards shes just like every character, an information kiosk that talks in a mundain voice. Fair enough if you like standing there and clicking optional dialogue which in a good majority of the case has no real effect on the game at all as apposed to scripted RP or self-played RP (Morrowind ect) ... but its not for me, I dont like being bored.[QUOTE="Birdy09"]Yea... this game actually might have some life in its charcters now.... oh wait.... i agree with this statement now
but before KOTOR or Baldurs gate 2, JRPG's were better
particularly in the 2D era
