Well this is bad news for xbox it might have increased sales. then again gamers might just think of it a PS game and go for that version anyway
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Probably in Japan, people would have opted for the PS3 version or get a PS3 & FFXIII.... but its still great news that in other regions 360 only owners can enjoy such great game...
If the Japanese can get it on the PS3, they'll get it on the PS3. An X-Box 360 version in Japan is pointless.TreyoftheDeadWell even if it can sell 10-30k copies, thats still a profit, and a profit is a profit.
Who knows, after all they are using the localisation time to port to the 360, so who knows, after thats done they might go back to retranslating it to Japanese and then getting a release.
Again, we are seeing many devs release their games in Japan for 20k if not even 10k sold, thats money made, no harm done. Last gen we didnt see that, but due to the 360 userbase there its now possible
This news makes me highly doubt that MS paid SE for FF13, not that I really care either way :P marcuskickassOffcourse, why would SE want to release FF13 on 360, i mean the 360 selling software from a big name franchise, naaaaaaaaaaaaaaah:roll:

I don't know if 10-30K sold would be a profit, but I can't see how it would be too expensive either. Especially considering they'll be porting a version thats already in Japanese and then switching out voice tracks and text. I can't imagine it'd be too hard to basically "save" the game before you swap out the voices and text and release that.

I think anyone who owns a 360 and not a PS3 would buy this for the 360 regardless of where they live. Not because the 360 is some miracle machine and because the PS3 is crap, but because you own the system so you buy games for that system as opposed to games for systems and consoles that you don't own.

The thing is Hardly anyone owns a 360 in Japan. While more people own a PS3 in Japan. Which is why they'll get it on PS3.
I am sure MS is not to upset about this. The already have stolen FF13 from Sony exclusive rights in every area of the world besides Japan. FF has always sold better then games like MGS and GoW and now it is not exclusive to Sony. Ok so in a country where Wii is in control anyways MS does not get it. It is not even like Sony has made a huge dent in Japan either since it is Wii land.
Anyone that thinks MS is crying over FF13 only being released in every area of the world but Japan is either stupid or a huge crying fanboy ....or both.
When it comes to FF13 Sony got owned and they got owned HARD

If you will have a working 360 version (thats likely in Japanese since they are going to be porting it after the jpn PS3 version is finished), why wouldn't you release it? You won't make billions, but I guarentee you'll make more money than if you let that version sit on a pc hard drive and never see the light of day.
If they really want a 360 copy, they can just import it from the US. I believe it's the same region.
360 is dead in japan, and on life support in europe, and the tide is turning in NA. this is no secret.LoZoned
no way

Porting it over to the 360 would be expensive for them. that is more dev time =which equals more money. so it would be pointless of them to even waste their time on a JA 360 version of FF13. especially when the install base is low over there.but wow i can see the first month sales of the ps3 being 1mill easy. its going to be insane when ff13 is released in japan.

what he said is partly true
1) 360 is dead in japan = True
2) 360 is on life support in Europe = kind of true since the 360 is cheaper than the wii over here (half the price of the ps3) and yet the ps3 still outsells it 2:1 and its only getting worse for the 360 in Europe too
3) Tides are turning in NA = this is also true since NA is the place the 360 has always dominated in and yet the ps3 out sold it every month this year bar 1

Well as ive said, a lot of Western developers are now releasing their titles regularly in Japan even just to get around 10-20k in sales, its money, and some of that is a profit. But yeah, translation shouldnt be too tough, they already have the Japanese stuff, reinserting that into an English translated 360 version should be too hard. Yeah text can be tougher than you think but it cant be THAT hard.

haha i like how you believe sony got owned by this you do know every copy sold on 360 gives sony money and square.)
You know at first i started writting a long post to explain it. I then thought about it. Some people are so far gone that no matter what is said it would go over their head.If you can honestly not admit Sony got owned by MS getting FF13 when it is so very obvious they did then it is not worth explaining. Some are so set on defending a company it does not matter how much logic is shown.

I bet you didn't know Sony just paid Microsoft $20million over the whole rumble tech issue.

nope sure isnt, 360 is region locked, north america is region 1, and i believe that japan is region 2

this is truth. really doesn't matter in the least that it's exclusive ps3 in japan, unless it was exclusive 360 in japan nobody would pick the 360 version over PS3 imo.

[QUOTE="ZOnikJJ"]It wouldn't sell on the Xbox 360 anyway.... 360 is dead in Japan... its no secret : /3picuri3
um, might wanna keep up on your gaming news. they actually sold out of 360s in japan recently, new shipments are on their way.
They sold out of 32K that's not much at all. It's not dead but it's not far from it. The 360 only pulls in 2K-8K on any given week.

that was my only point ;) that it's not dead. that actually, in reality, it's had one of it's most active months yet.

If that were true, then you'd know that it was Immersion that paid 20 million to MS and that Sony even profited from the lawsuit. Please Log In to post.
