People who say the Wiimote can't work for SSB are afraid of change and can't realize SSB doesn't need to play like Melee, and SSBB is pretty much SSBM 1.5
Thanks God some people here won't develop games, let's list some people beliefs about the Wiimote and the SSB franchise:
1. If something insane is happening on screen, it means you're swinging your Wiimote as a retarded monkey and hitting your whole family and neighbours.
2. When Nintendo created the Wiimote, they deliberately decided that they should make a controller that isn't suited for fighters, after all, that's perfectly logical. Therefore, DBZ and MK:A are errors of nature.
3. SSBM was a so perfect of a launch GC game that 6 years later, slighty better graphics put to shame by standard competition graphics and a friend code based online put to shame by Live and PC Online (and probably by PSN too) will make it. After all we can't deny SSBB is graphics whores' paradise...
4. SSBM was made around the GC controller, which inevitably means the Wii sequel should be made around the same controller.
5. Because if it was made for the Wii controller, that could only be done by porting the all mighty Melee to Wii and tacking on random Wiimote swings. The simply thought of a SSB built from the ground for the Wii is absurd.
6. Sakurai is God. If he says he can't do it, no one can do it, not even God. Oh, wait, Sakurai is God. Ed Boon doesn't exist and MK:A is a mirage.
7. There are so many things in Brawl that the Wiimote isn't needed. Yes, many things that a PS3/360 can do better and is doing better.
8. "I can't imagine SSB with the Wiimote". Of course, you're the one who eats up what Nintendo gives you, not the guy in charge of creating Brawl, who's being quite lazy lately...
Get real. If you want to buy and play Brawl, I won't stop you. I can't and I don't want to, but that won't change the fact that you'll be playing Melee 1.5.
