In a recent interview, developers from GSC Game World announced that a PS5 version of STALKER 2 is not currently being planned or worked on.

"No plans for now," the developer said. "We negotiated the possibilities with Microsoft and saw several good opportunities for the brand — including Game Pass. We're concentrating on the Xbox Series X/S version."

This means that, at least for the time being, STALKER 2 will remain an Xbox console exclusive (the game is also releasing on PC). The developer's interest in Xbox Game Pass also strongly suggests that the game will be available through the program, which is great news for Game Pass subscribers. STALKER 2 is one of the most highly-anticipated games of 2021, so it's exciting to think that it may be coming to Game Pass.

Honestly I'd prefer it to go everywhere it can, Stalker hasn't been a major franchise for a long time so in order to pick up the biggest possible audience I'd prefer they cast as wide a net as possible.

Huge loss for PS users. beside STALKER I cant imagine playing with controller.

True, that should be the case for any game, ever.

Maybe the console release was mainly due to support/deal with MS. But I hope it's ported to PS too.

Makes sense, Ive heard that MS supported them during the war (financially) so it makes sense.

I'd imagine it comes to PS5 after 6-12 months rather than the initial 3 that was announced.

Fortunately for Sony fans, they'll just have to play the game on their gaming PCs.

Sony leaves huge install bases behind when they choose to not release a game on Xbox, PC or Switch. It's called exclusive deals to encourage an ecosystem to move to.

@kvallyx: Oh yeah sure. It's the old exclusive playbook. It's just that hasn't really been MSs M.O. this gen. Certainly not going to 3rd parties to look for an exclusive deal. So IF MS has done that (big IF...just speculating) it would be a surprise. And IF MS have done that: could it be a sign of a change in strategy for them regarding exclusives?

Generally no developer these days would decide to ignore a platform of their own Volition. Especially not a western developer.

How about they set their consoles apart based on customer service, quality of hardware, dashboard and online features, ease of use, performance, competitive pricing while at the same time offering the consumer every game imaginable can be played on it?
