Isn't Star Ocean 3 discs? I wonder why they didn't just stretch it our on 4 discs, and put all the data on each discCouth_

From my understanding developers pay a silly amount per disc with MS, I could be wrong, I might have heard it in SW so I could be wrong :P

So? What are cows trying to claim ownage because they're too lazy to get off their ass for a couple of seconds and change a disc?

Besides, plenty of other RPGs have had multiple discs. It's not something unheard of.

This just means consoles need HDDs and to use installs. But by then they will all but using blu-ray anyway.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this a first for RPGs? I don't think I've ever had to change disc to go back to another area.Ragnarok1051
This is true. Hell, FF7 didn't even do this on Ps1...

Well, like FF7 did. Have the whole world on the last disc so you can explore everything without changing the disc. Honestly, changing the disc to go into different areas is kind of silly. Minor inconvenience, but silly still.

that just shows poor game development. crysis is far more massive and it doesn't require disk change. and since you can install games to 360. disk changing shouldn't be a problem.

I kind of like it when an RPG has multiple discs, but having to switch them to go back to previous areas sounds really annoying.

Just makes you wonder how much of the stuff they actually had to cut out of the game due to space restrictions. They already mentioned they had to cut out various scenes and additional content.:(

I wish it would have just come out for the PS3 in the first place. Maybe a directors cut in the future. I see it happening more and more.

Wow. Really? Thats why I have always liked and defended Blu-ray. It was never intended to help gamers but game development. And to those of you saying disc swapping is preferable to a mandatory install, how did you come to the conclusion that this game would need an install on PS3? Killzone 2 = no mandatory install and its the best looking console game out there.
