StarCraft 1-2 has a much better story then all the Halo games

now I know people are gonna be like omg no Halo is the bomb an stuff an thats i fine i played all of Halo 1 and begining of Halo 2 and got like half way halo 3 an let me just say that the story in Halo is pretty much like any other game

u got the humans, you got alien race that is jerks to everyone you got an evil unleashed on the world aka the flood this is just is so generic an been done like a bajillion times in video gaming its like haven't i seen this before yes, yes i have

and well with starcraft 2 you've got Jim Raynor an awesome badass who just kicks butt all day long an hes not hiding his face from anyone like masterchief an stuff

and we got like Tydus Finlay the original OG starcraft marine just like so many copies have come out of sc's like big strong buff big guns starcraft marine like unreal an gear sof war so fake an copying starcraft its sick almost a crime

and then you got kerrigan i mean awesome stealthy ghost who becomes like the zergs ultimate weapon queen of blades just awesomeness

and you got like the overmind which I think was so cool like what a great idea for enemy the overmind thats so sick

and like i said halo just doesn't really deliver imo storywise compared to like starcraft 1-2 and im just gonna say how i feel cuz u know its how i feel and pretty much yeah not much arguing cuz people will know im right when i say something

Trust me on this one. Not too many people here go "Halo is da bomb" ;) Lots of hate on it lately. None of your points really emphasize story mainly just characters. I don't think the Halo story is bad, I thought the Covenant religion stuff was pretty interesting. I haven't finished Starcraft 2 so I can't say but I did like the story in the original.bobcheeseball

one of the commercial's actually says the Brood War is over so no they didn't forget about Brood War, Fenix is still dead from brood war an everything ahppened in brood war happened in SC2 so i think ur wrong their the continuity is very strong in sc2

opinions. and from the descriptions, it doesn't sound a whole lot better than Halo.

the 'space marine' recurrences that are slapped on Halo even come up for StarCraft, seems pretty ironic. maybe you're just a pro at the art of we'll call it 'ogreing'

u should nopt compare it to halo they are very different story wise and everything else. but what u can compare it to is masseffect 2. sc2 is very similar to mass effect 2 the only difference is that one is a shooter with rpg elements and the other is an rts with rpg elements

so in other words you haven't even played the first and second game's storyline. Nothing in your OP gives me the impression that you know halo's story enough to judge it.

I think that Halo ODST had the best story in the Halo games so far though, was a step up from all the others.

I really cant comment on Starcrafts story but The Halo story is a lot larger then the games tell. If you want to get the full halo story you have to read the books which really delve into the halo lore.

I never said that Starcraft had a bad story, I was just saying that the halo game are just a small part of the entire halo story.

It's a little bit inaccurate (I'm a huge Halo nerd), but in a nutshell that's Halo.

Starcraft is a little more far reaching. As a result, it lacks a strong narrative. The character of Kerrigan is awesome, but aside from a couple of others, nothing in the first starcraft (still making my way through 2) is that remarkable. The Halo plot device alone, not even the Covenant backstory and civil war, works better than Starcraft's mashing of stories. The first Starcraft was just about a three way war with stuff constantly happening and the characters moving from planet to planet. Only a handful of events are actually significant to the story.

The Starcraft story isn't bad, but I wouldn't put it above Halo's.

what are you talking about? they make references about the brood war in the game more than just a few times! i guess you havent played this or else you would know this. also, if you had "READ" the book that comes with the game, they talk about the brood war and its aftermath! do you even remember what most of the brood war was about? it had alot to do with the earth directorate, which happened to...oh i dunno.... GET COMPLETELY ANNIHALTED BY THE QUEEN OF BLADES AND THE SWARM!!! geez some ppl i swear. do your research before you make such claims!

Starcraft 1 and brood war had plenty of depth and twists in their respective plotlines. Story opens up with a political struggle and an alien invasion lurking on the horizon. And then details about all the main factions and players gets revealed progressively as part of the missions you play. Kerrigan disappears and a while later she pops out of an egg as the latest and one of the biggest threats to the other two races. And the planets actually had themes for environments and different uses. Oh right, remember to ignore the fact that starcraft came out years before halo.

What does halo have again? Oh, here's a city and right outside the walls are an endless, linear path of rocks and trees. Apparently this is what 'billions of people' live in when humanity has advanced in the future. Oh an alien invasion is coming, and a super soldier who talks in a monotone comes to save everyone, where he's using nothing but the same weapons that everyone else has anyways. I mean come on, bungie is reinforcing the idea that master chief is a 'badass' by relying on the hinge that he does nothing but fight. But what if you think the story in the games aren't good enough? Go read the books silly, thats what we've hired external writers for, to do the job that we couldn't do, because we're just game designers.

The halo series is a pathetic excuse of an action story.
