Wow, too bad I live in Europe and they don't ship internationally. I'm sure they meant to make it a $50 sale, not $5. This is probably going to cost someone their job.Rev3ngerlol I agree. I know this happen before with either best buy or walmart. its most likely an error.

But still, don't they have the right to refuse if some error like this comes up?

No, of course not. They're liable for what they post on their site.
Grab the opportunity while you can, this will probably be corrected very soon.
HOLY WOW!! I ordered it for 8 dollars and some change- and it supposedly went through!!! if i get this game for that cheap I WILL HAVE TO DO A HAPPY DANCE!!!
Well yay me!. I just paid 2.99 for SC2. I had had an extra 5 buck reward zone certificate laying around that I got when I picked up a PS3.
But still, don't they have the right to refuse if some error like this comes up?
ocstew
No, because that would constitute false advertising.
Imagine this: you have a site that sells videogames, and you decide to price every game at $1. After thousands of sales, you say it was an error and refund everyone their $1. Chances are, some of those people will buy from you anyway, since you're pricing it at the standard price and they know the site anyway. Presto, free marketing technique.
^ If this was legal, everyone would do it. Thus, it is illegal.
I'm not interested in Starcraft 2 but that is brilliant. I probably would have bought it if I lived in America. Poor Best Buy are going to lose some money :P
[QUOTE="gohan2710"]They will cancel all the orders as soon as they noticed the error. Scoob64
I hope not. i just ordered 6 copies....
Geez, that must suck..They will cancel all the orders as soon as they noticed the error. gohan2710in the past they usually honor their goofs. the only time ive seen them revoke their orders is when they had a $1600 TV for $9.99
They will cancel all the orders as soon as they noticed the error. gohan2710
See my post for clarification. I know for a fact that in Europe they are forced to sell you to the price they advertise it at.
And I would be EXTREMELY surprised if this wasn't true in America, where everyone sues anyone for anything.

Taken staright from their website:
"Prices and availability of products and services are subject to change without notice. Errors will be corrected where discovered, and Best Buy reserves the right to revoke any stated offer and to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions including after an order has been submitted and whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, Best Buy will issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge. Individual bank policies will dictate when this amount is credited to your account. If you are not fully satisfied with your purchase, you may return it in accordance with Best Buy's Return Policy"
I ordered a copy as well just for the heck of it, but lets just be realistic ;)

Ah, okay. I retract my statement(s) then, they have their asses covered.
Still, this can be used as a cheap marketing technique, and I think that even with that ass-coverage a good lawyer could sue them.
I feel bad knowing that if this was an error.. someone is loosing their job:( I bought it without thinking it could be an error

there going too. this nothing new. best buy has cancel orders in the pass because of an error.
found it: a $1700 52 inch 120hz samsung tv at $9.99 (this is from last Aug btw)
www.abcnews.com
This is like last time when they priced a 50 Inch tv at 11$ instead of 1700$. Lol. You all are gonna get your money back. :P

Well, to be quite honest, if this was someone's error I don't think that person deserved the job in the first place. This error came from distraction, which is unacceptable in this case.
I mean, it's a mistake that could have pretty bad consequences, and the person in charge of prices should always double or triple check these kind of things. I know I would.
There are many people in unemployment that would probably be more qualified. I say give them the chance.
So do they just cancel the orders because I will not stand for additional charge without my notification and authorization!
I got a $15gift card from mycokerewards.com
I knew it would be wise to wait for something like this to happen. It just went through
well i called best buy and it is a simple error, when i asked the guy if our orders will be honored he said that he did no know but best buy always attempts to give the best customer service. ferret-gamer
Hopefully they correct it soon and honor the order for everyone who already ordered!

Pretty sure they can cancel/revoke it. I know Wal-Mart once put HDTVs on sale on their website for dirt cheap (like $13 or something) and they cancelled every single order. So if it is an error and they put it back to the regular price
and i already got it ordered.
Does that mean they will charge me the regular price instead of the 5$ if i already have it ordered? or will they cancel it
They'll just cancel it (that is if they don't honor it) They can't charge you more than they advertised for, but they can deny selling something to you if they wish.So if it is an error and they put it back to the regular price
and i already got it ordered.
Does that mean they will charge me the regular price instead of the 5$ if i already have it ordered? or will they cancel it
BioDogshock
This is like last year when they had like $20 dollars for the entire stock of games and they accidently included pre-orders so everyone was getting games that aren't even out for $20.
