Steam Winter Sale Starts Today

I should check that sale out. I need to use my PS4 more. Might start Until Dawn tonight.

Isn't the Steam *sale* just the normal price of games available elsewhere? I don't jump on a running riot sale and buy myself 20+ games like some crazy mofos but i keep on hearing that Steam sales been shit for the past couple of years.

Maybe not up to par to past sales, but certainly far from shit. Thou it seems like alot of other sites like Humblebundle, Amazon, GoG, Bundlestars, and my personal fav right now Greenmangaming has some better overall sale prices or deals.

exactly. On greenman you don't even need to wait for holidays to get yourself great discounts. Hell, you constantly save $20+ even on day one. You never see that happening on Steam. Their pricing is so competitive that its the only place i buy from as of late.

edit: whoa, already beat it in two sittings. The game is great for the price I gave for it but asking almost $20 (original price) for such a short game should be a crime

...Makes me glad that I never save payment info.

@CountBleck12: Fortunately, I don't think you can access payment information, as I tried due to my brother having his info saved, and theirs was asterisked out... So hopefully, that's still safe.

Steam is fucked right now. They need to shut down the servers before things get worse.

My account has been affected too. Somehow I've been logged into someone else's account. If someone else gets access to my account, I'm fucked.

I think you could given how some people said in the Steam help forum that they can see payment info, addresses, etc. I was able to find someone's credit card information once only to go to another stranger's Steam account when I clicked out of it.

This isn't good and this is perfect for thiefs, Steam really fucked up this time.

steam sales are pretty shit now TBH. console sales have surpassed it.

SteamDB speculates the problem was caused with a caching issue, and recommends that no one use the Steam Store until it's resolved. I don't have the technical expertise to offer an alternative explanation, so for now, I'd recommend avoiding the Store entirely until Valve makes a statement. The official Steam support Twitter account has said nothing yet, but we'll update with more as it happens. Mince pies permitting.
