How do you know that? I don't want to offend people, I'm just saying I find it disturbing if someone plays too much.

When i stay over, he only plays about 2 hours with me. Don't get me wrong. I don't approve of it but i don't think he has a problem.
I'm not saying that he does. If he can spend all that time playing games and it doesn't hurt his life that's fine. But I suspect that this hurts a lot of those that do it.
This is the only thing I'm worrying about. In my church's version of the bible you can do anything (that isn't sinful) for any amount as long as you don't neglect anything important. A popular saying goes: "You do what you have to do before you do what you want to do."[QUOTE="mrmusicman247"][QUOTE="SgtKevali"]
I hate to say it, but that's kind of a sickness (48 hours) the way I see it. It's obsession, not a hobby at that point imo.
Ehh I don't know about that. I know someone personally who plays about 5 hours a day and he's married and has a job. He can stop anytime he wants to.How do you know that? I don't want to offend people, I'm just saying I find it disturbing if someone plays too much.
It isn't that disturbing, the average person probably spends the same amount of time watching movies, listening to music, browsing the web ectI find that I have a hard time getting myself to play games for extended periods of time these days. Even if I don't really have other things to do. I generally only play for two hours a day. It's only today that I've been really playing a lot, but that's because I'm trying to beat this aggrivating Tactics Ogre game.

I just looked at my Raptr account and the longest time I played RDR for was over 10 hours. It said I finally came up for air
I must have done a whole lot of nothing that day

What's the difference? Someone should not enjoy themselves and force themselves to do other stuff they don't enjoy just to make themselves feel better in the eyes of other people? Now THAT is not good.I remember hearing these dudes from my school got together and played for 48 hrs straight just all WoW partying, pvping, etc. Of course with some breaks, but pretty much glued to it most of the way through, they would pass out afterwards for a day to catch up on sleep then party irl after.
I play about 35....
And that is way more time than i thought before entering this thread...
I suppose i actually DO have free time after all, i just use it to play games all the time.
I used to play 6-12 hrs/day sometimes in the summer but not for the whole week that would be like what? 42-82 hrs per week!!
I only game hard like that (six hours or more a day) when I'm playing a great new game that I've been anticipating for a long time. Otherwise, I usually only play an hour or two per day, maybe three times a week. The older you get, the harder it is to devote such selfish time to yourself.
I can get about 20-25 hours on a good week if I have nothing else to do.
Before, I used to play WoW like all day for a summer. I got High Warlord even before they started giving the points. Anyone who's played WoW back then knows the pain.
That is pretty damn insane, but i probably play that much when im not in school. Dante2710Yea me to. I played 4 days of COD4 multiplayer in 1 week LOL. Eat, sleep, play. Afterwards my eyes were so bloodshot and I felt like crap. Took another week to get back to feeling normal.
It's not about hours but about how seriously you take the game but about 30ish is a good rough guide. So how many hours do I need to play to finally become "hardcore"?
GreenGoblin2099
wow i barely have time to play 2 hours a day, which is usually at night Wings_008
Yes I usually play 1 hour a day...which is at night when everyone is asleep.
I guess if one just plays games instead of watching TV it's not that hard to believe.BubbyJello
I play games daily and almost never watch TV, but still couldn't hit 48 hours a week.
I'd love to, but between working 40+, traveling to that job, children, wife etc, I might get 1.5 hours during the week a night. So thats 7.5 hours during the week. Even If I played for 10 hours SAT and again on SUN that would be 27.5 hours. 48 hours in one week is a metric **** ton of time devoted to playing videogames. I'm jealous. :(
I think I replayed KoTOR recently in a week, and it says I clocked in 46 hours. Wow, I really don't have much to do at the moment.
Whoa judging by this thread I think my friends theory is right, that "gamespot is just filled with casual chavs that know nothing but shooters and short games" .... im beggining to believe it judging by the reaction to this study. so much for being a gamer enthusiast forum, no need to play the "I have a job" Card... it doesnt work :PBirdy09
That's quite possibly the most elitist thing I've ever heard in quite a while. If any of my friends said that to me I would probably be so embarrassed as to not call them friends any more. Did he really say that?
Incidentally people do actually have jobs in real life, this forum is pretty diverse.

It would have to be a hardcore gamer with a bot net to get anywhere near that amount of hits.
Now that I'm out of school and Red Dead is out, I think I log in about 40-60 hours a week. The rest is my 1 hour a day walk and sleeping.zbdyx^ Sounds a lot like me, except I won't play Red Dead.
