[QUOTE="Sooshy"]Gears had frame rate issues for what seemed like weeks before launch, but they got cleared up.EinhanderkillerDuring my playthrough of Gears of War, the frame rate would get a bit sporadic is some areas and it would stutter in others.Weird, the only time I noticed a frame rate drop was when a cut scene was playing.
lemms are calling this game the best looking game yet, yeah right.GermanShepard06
Because ... it is ?? And of course it is, show us a better looking rpg on PS3 then or pc, FF13 characters look like PS1 comparing to the detail, shaders and lighting of Mass Effect models
If Mass Effect had a framerate as good as Gears, then I can be a happy gamer. This title has been hyped to infinity. I am seriously expecting nothing short of greatness from this title. If the graphics are subpar, I know I will be pissed. I want to lie to myself that I wont be, but then again I am the kind of graphics whore who sold his secondcar to buy an HDTV. Do you get what I am saying? godhandiscen
The game looks great. The lightning effect when Shepherd shot a space zombie with a shotgun looked fantastic as it danced around the screen. Perhaps the most impressive looking bit was the adept's conjured barrier that provided both cover and a clean view of the field ahead. The texture work and visual flair that was added do a great service towards drawing the player into the immediate world, though the environmental detail and nice futuristic design lead the way. When we see a fully polished game later this year, everybody is in for a treat

First off it hasnt been downgraded, thats confirmed. Second off, most optimization occurs in the final three months. So stop whining. Girl gamers are so funny.I had a bad feeling not everything could be good news. Yeah, I am a graphics whore, and with such a little time before release, if the game cant hit 30fps it is obvious it just wont. @#$%%~!

lol at cows...that's why the game is still in development...i'd join in and bash it with you if it was released in its current state but alas it is not, and i have no doubt bioware will have the problems fixed by releasemwa
I guess the TC failed to read this part of the link he provided....
The only areas where Mass Effect currently suffers (keep in mind this is still an early build, with much optimization left before the game ships) are the direct result of how impressively it succeeds. IGN
Remember when everyone freaked because Gears had framerate issues. Even gamespot commented on that (Jeff Gerstmann) and then it ended up fine.

I guess that confirms it won't be on PS3

Don't worry, Sony fanboys, you're laughing at the 360 and its owners due to the the "framerate issues" Mass Effect has now, but I'm sure someone with a 360 will be more than happy to let you play the final game for yourself when it comes out. That is, unless you're still too busy trying to figure out how to make Motorstorm work in splitscreen, or perhaps wondering where the "4-D graphics" switch is on your PS3...
lemms are calling this game the best looking game yet, yeah right.GermanShepard06could be for consoles, but if the framerate is super low, it's of no use to make the visuals beautifull... framerate is really important to me. But there is ni denying the game looks good. let's not fall in to damage control allready shall we.
Did you guys not see my post where Bioware responded to the 1up article??? Bioware Responds To the 1up Preview; Quote: We're actually pretty proud of the eyes in Mass Effect, so I think it was just a mistake or something. If there was anything wrong with them, it would have had to be specific to that build (minor problems do arise from time to time). As far as the frame rate and such "minor quibbles", what the folks at GDC saw was a build of the game. It wasn't some special build made to show off progress or hype up a particular feature. It was what gets made daily around here. Sometimes the builds work great, sometimes they have a few small flaws, sometimes they explode like supernovas sending the team into hysterics trying to fix it. These things happen. Generally the game gets better and better with each passing build (barring Nova-type builds, but these get fixed darned fast). The game is not optimized yet (as mentioned). It will still get multiple layers of polish and optimization before you fans get your hands on it. Personally, I'm really pleased that the only thing 1Up could find to complain about was stuff that I know will be fixed before we ship the game. They are well aware of these little problems and their whole dev time left is pretty much just polishingobi_kenobi24
Hmm, thats good. I might have to walk down to Bioware tomorrow and give them heck :P or pay them $20 to show me some exclusive goods.

[QUOTE="Mass_Effect"]Why do people want this game just because of the graphics? Bioware don't normally release games with ground breaking graphics, they just make games with brilliant gameplay. And also, I'm sure Chris Priestly on the Bioware forums said the frame rate will be tweaked closer to the end of developmentflamingschmoes2I understand, but when you release many E3 videos boasting tof how advanced the graphics are, you have an obligation as a developer to stick to your claims and stay as close to your target videos. Otherwise don't boast in the first place. but Bioware responded that they will fix it, so this restores hope
Bioware are showing off the graphics, which is OK because it is a good looking game. But people should stop hyping this game solely because of its graphics; its a Bioware game. KOTOR had pretty poor graphics when it was released, but that didn't stop it from being the best RPG on the Xbox

People are not hyping this game just because of its graphics. We may have different opinions on this, but I always have been overwhelmed by the game in the graphics department and like flamingschmoes2 said they promised quite alot of stuff with this title, so......... Why not deliver the goods on all fronts? It would certainly not bother me.Did you guys not see my post where Bioware responded to the 1up article???
