Personally i haven't played either, but 'd love to play Infamous second son as i enjoyed Infamous games on PS 3. Have no clue about Sunset Overdrive's gameplay. Which game is more fun to play folks ? :)

Infamous Second Son =/= Infamous 2
Either way SO is more amusing and just generally more fun than either of them.
Cant say for sure, because only a stupid lemming would own an xbone anyway. From vids of SO its looks like a tryhard memeland with extremly slow movements, meh. So I would go with Second Son even if it had less filler.
I would love to see some prove of some of the lemmings in this thread like @speedfreak48t5pand Funkmaster1233 that claim they played both games.
in4ba I played on a friend console/ I sold the game.
This threads going to be fun, comparing two exclusives from the opposite consoles using an entirely objective metric always works well.
With that said i've preferred InFamous because of the gameplay. Sunset has a good aesthetic and goofiness, kind of like Dead Rising, but the gameplay didn't hold me as well.
I only played a bit of Second Sun, didn't really like it. Never been a fan of the series though, so no surprise there.
Haven't played Sunset at all, but I think I'd probably enjoy it more.
If you have both consoles, why not both? I read somewhere Infamous First Light is coming to PS+ in Jan so maybe buy SSO for the bone and then pick up First Light on plus.
Anyone who prefers Infamous is either:
A) a Sony fanboy
B) someone who has a specific beef with ssod's silliness, and prefers a more serious tone.
Anyone else, who has actually played both games through, will likely prefer Sunset. It really is just better at everything, takes more risks and has more variety overall. It's like a 7 vs a 9 IMO.
Infamous is still a good game, don't get me wrong, but based purely on content, you will get more bang for your buck out of sunset.

It's funny how you mention memeland when Sony used memes at E3 to help sell their console. I played the PS3 infamous games and watched streams for SS and it didn't look nearly as good as the PS3 ones. I always pick up Playstation consoles later on down the line because I always feel that Playstation has better single player games than XBox but XBox has better multiplayer.
everything i've read and watched has been nothing but positive about the gameplay. this is the first game that has made me want to pick up an xbox one, but that's not enough.
anyway, insomniac are amazing developers and deserve all the praise they've been getting these last couple of weeks. i'm happy for them.
SSoD, whoever claims infamous 2 is better is a hardcore fanboy.
After having played both...Sunset Overdrive, no contest.
This, sunset overdrive is way better. More fun, funnier characters, and the combat is smart as well. It also looks fresh.
@speak_low: lots of people own both consoles I find, especially this generation.
I also own both, and I played, beat and trade in Infamous 2 weeks after I purchased it with around 14 hours played. I have 36 hours in sunset overdrive, still working on challenges and playing chaos squad. As someone who's played through both games in their entirety, I can tell you Sunset is loads better.
Unless you have a specific beef with the humor, look and general over the top feel of sunset, it is the superior game.
Again, infamous is not bad, just not as great as sunset

You have no choice but to say Infamous SS, because you don't own an XBox One. lol!! Not even sure why you're here since you can't even compare the two games. Just another butthurt trolling cow who wants to be heard.

And you do own both? Prove it.
Im betting most of the lemmings here in this thread dont own one and still post bullshit like "Only Faboys could prefer Infamous".
Funkmaster already admited that he didnt play SS but still posted "Sunset and it's not even close."

I did not even want to post in this thread, but then I saw how many lems were all like SO FTW and Im suspect all of them even played both.
I at least didnt make up bullshit or posted a generic "Second Son destroys that shit".

Heli a die hard Sony fan likes SO more than Infamous, so don't act like lemmings are the only ones praising the game.
Lemmings like Sunset Overdrive as well as cows, stop crying and get over it.
The reviews of SO prove that its a great game.
Heil likes everything and owns everything, but when the thread is filled with lemmings making such definitive statements, I wonder how many just make shit up.
I guess thats one of the positives with owning a console nobody wants, you can post anything you want.
After completing both. I'd say they both get really repetitive and since Second Son has a better story I have to go with second Son,(yeah I know, tallest midget competition)
The writers for SO tried way too hard and they failed. The ending was very bad imo. Other than that the multiplier is kind of fun but not many people playing at the moment. I can never get a find a match with a full 8 players.
Never played Sunset but it looks to have the same bouncy TPS qualities I loved in Second Son.
As far as pure fun goes, I wouldn't have a hard time putting Second Son against most TPS games due to the strength of its core combat. As a game, I could easily hear many games that are better overall than Second Son.
Both games are good and both do things well. I do prefer being a bad ass hero or villain with super powers a la infamous second son but am playing sunset iverdrive and am enjoying that a lot too. Can't go wrong with either game. I've seen the hardcore lemmings come out of the wood work tonight claiming sunset is better but I doubt they own a ps4. You know who you are.

Exactly. I could never understand why people feel the need to subjugate themselves to a specific gaming console and kneel before Sony or Microsoft's simply because it happens to be the platform they purchased. It's so childish and anyone over the age of 10 acting in such a manner should be embarrassed. That being said, I agree both games are good. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. Infamous is a little more controlled and linear while SSOD is pure mayhem and more non-linear. Having played both, I can't say that either is "better" or more fun because there are certain things I liked about one that I may not have like as much in the other. For instance, I like the character customization in SSOD better but find the amp and overdrive system to be unnecessarily obfuscated compared to the more straightforward shard upgrades in Infamous. The humor and jokes in SSOD are much funnier than the painfully corny attempts in infamous. As far as action, SSOD is pretty much a nonstop frenetic pace. Infamous sometimes gives you opportunities to plan a more strategic attack whereas, you pretty much have to constantly stay moving and shooting in SSOD to survive. Both worlds are vast and fun to explore. SSOD's world seems more colorful and fun than the mostly dreary city of Seattle in Infamous. However, particle effects, such as smoke, sunsets, neon, water and fire are much better rendered in Infamous. Fact is, Infamous is the best looking game graphically that I've seen on either system to date. If you mean fun in a lighthearted jokey kind of way, then SSOD is definitely more fun than the sometimes depressing tone of infamous.
Both games do have the same annoying flaw... a nasally sounding protagonist. Even when I created a hulking olive skinned dreadlocked character in SSOD, he still had the same annoying high-pitched voice.
So like the other unbiased person said, you can't go wrong with either. If you have both consoles, both games are worth a look.
All you need to know is that Fetch > Delsin, any day if the week.
They should've just made her to protaganist. She's cool, and in control(but not really(singularity)) of her powers.
