Personality goes a looong way :)
[QUOTE="AdobeArtist"]Personality goes a looong way :)foxhound_foxIronically in a competition based mostly on looks.
Oh COME ON already, I've been over this before :|. This encompasses ALL the qualities that make a lady appealing to the gamers. Sure looks will play a factor, to different degrees by character and the user voting for her, but just look at the commentary in these past 3 rounds. Plenty have expressed a fondness based on many traits aside from looks. And that includes yourself I might add ;)

Plus, her overly-bubbly nature, including her views on Cerberus (naive apologism), aren't very attractive to me, even when looking past dat butterface. The fact that Liara, Ashley and even Miranda did not make it as far as Kelly makes me think she wasn't given any real competition in the first two rounds. And if personality is a deciding element in this competition, and not just looks... then why wasn't Jack included? She has enough personality for 3 women. You include characters like Sopithia, Kitana, Hitomi, Kasumi, Tina, Ivy, Taki, Ayane and Peach, then turn around and say personality is just as important?
Go Lilith and Lara!!!
I also wouldn't mind Samus and Elena going far :)

Thanks for throwing in your ballot. BUT I do have to point out that the list needs to be in the same order as the chart. Otherwise I can't properly track that your votes correspond to the assigned slots and can't count. Please EDIT your post soon, and thanks.
The only difficult choice was the last one, both Jill and Elena are great characters but I had to go with Jill because I already put one Uncharted chic through. I would have no problem with anyone winning from the choices except Bayonetta. She simply doesn't deserve the title of LOTG.
1.)Lara
2.)Triss
3.)Faith
4.)Chloe
5.)Bayonetta
6.)Lilith
7.)Samus
8/)Elena
My analysis on the poll: Both Uncharted girls still competing? Chloe has a chance, but I think Elena will be owned by RE fans.
Should Lara really be counted, since she has been in 5 gens?
Lilith is my number 1 choice next to Elena/Chloe.
Samus has had an easy run the whole tournament, facing agaisnt meh people.
Overall, this poll is great!

This is where my line, "to different degrees by character and the user voting for her" comes into effect. Since I can't expect everybody to be completely familiar with each and every character on the roster, it's left completely open to how anybody may vote, based on their own knowledge it can be what ever combination of looks and personality. Be that a balanced weight of both or slightly favoured traits of one over the other.
And yes even fighter characters can be favoured by some people by more than just looks. I'm sure there are people who take a shine to the personality of Chun Li, Kasumi, Hitomi, Kitana (as some examples) based on the fiction surrounding the game. Again, each participant's familiarity is given to prerogative.
And appearance isn't limited to just physical features, but also styIe and presentation which is also a reflection of personality (how they choose to express themself in image), that can play a factor. For myself, Elizabeth and Miss Fortune who look very striking in their elegant dresses (also Ada Wong for a last gen example and in some cases Lara) does say something of their personality, that distinguishes them from your typical "utilitarian action chick". I mean really that "not afraid to be powerfully feminine" quality is a great source of appeal to me, and who knows maybe others here too. :)

This I can agree with. First moment you meet with Liara is magical. One of trippiest moments I've seen in a game. I know the VA for Liara isn't hot irl, but her voice acting was incredibly appealing imo.
Jack may have a load of weird tats and a shaved head that distracts from her appearance, but she's easily the most beautiful of the ME girls. She a BA too, and her personality quirks are far more realistic and justifiable than any of the ME2 girls.
If you can look past the booty, Miranda is just a spoiled bulldog. Seriously. Loved it when Jack smacked her down, and she wanted Shepard to reprimand her, and I was like eat it priss. lol.
I liked this concept render of Jack with hair. The shirt doesn't fit, but she looks nice, nonetheless.

Well I AM going to be serious with my rebuttal. Star Wars has just as much right to video game themed contests & awards as any other franchise or character. Because Star Wars has been a part of gaming very nearly for as long as video games have been around, right back to the cIassic arcade game (that pseudo 3D wireframe just to clarify). Maybe not at the "very beginning" per se, but at over 35 years, damn well long enough to say its presence is an integral part of the video game industry, just as much as Pac Man, Mario, Zelda, Samus, Sonic, Solid Snake, or who ever else you care to mention.
Buuuut enough of that. :P Back to who makes an exemplary female gaming protagonist :)

aaaand Vader is an integral part of the Star Wars universe, who's been featured in numerous games, some being movie adaptations but also several stories originally made for games, going past decades. So my original point still stands :) 8)

Except not at all. He's a film character, first and foremost. It doesn't matter if he's been in games. It's like calling Aragorn one of the greatest characters in cinema. He's just not.Vader isn't a video game villain. He's a movie villain. DarkLink77He is actually a media franchise villain. That's bs and you know it. Vader is not identified by games but by movies.
Going by your logic, explain why not even a single villain from LotR was in the context.

Is that why Vader risked of not appearing in the contest? He had to win his way to his place in it through a one-round poll that took place before the official contest begun.
Again, Vader is not identified by games, it's identified by movies.
then why wasn't Jack included? She has enough personality for 3 women. foxhound_foxCorrection 3 men*

Vader being in movies, books, and video games doesn't change his villainy. Well it shouldn't. Maybe since it is different mediums it makes it have different character traits? Then why would devs call the character Vader? If you want to get hung up on literal terms so be it. Greatest Video Game Villain. But if characters are in both why should it matter? Because it doesn't change them in any way. There is a distressing ammount of people not voting for Catherine. I blame it on the game not being out yet, hopefully she survives long enough for people to understand how awesome a character she will be.JynxzorStart posting more so we can see your sig. That'll get her some votes.

He barely appears in games. I'm not even sure he actually acts as a villain in TFU.
Nobody knows him for his villainy in games. Only for his acting in the movies.
It's not complicated.
If what YOU were saying was true, you'd have to explain the lack of LotR villains in the contest.
